  • The FOXQ1/SSBP2 Regulatory Axis Drives Malignant Progression of Melanoma. [Journal Article]
Mol Carcinog. 2026 Aug 30. [Online ahead of print]Zhang X, Hou Y, … Feng JMC
  • Melanoma is a highly aggressive skin cancer with poor prognosis, often linked to excessive UV exposure. Despite advancements in immunotherapy and targeted treatments, melanoma's invasiveness and metastatic potential remain significant challenges. This study aimed to identify novel molecular targets associated with melanoma progression. Consensus clustering analysis revealed three melanoma subtype…
  • Metastatic Uterine Sarcomas: A Retrospective Analysis on Clinical Outcomes and Biology. [Journal Article]
Cureus. 2026 Jul; 18(7):e113605.Singh N, Kapoor AR, … Sansar BC
  • Introduction Metastatic uterine sarcomas are aggressive malignancies with poor outcomes and a scarcity of real-world data. Methods This retrospective study collected data from patients treated over eight years, from January 2018 to December 2025. The included patients had histopathologically confirmed sarcoma arising from the uterus who were deemed unresectable or were metastatic and treated with…
  • A human iPSC-derived kidney-liver organ-on-a-chip platform for modeling inter-organ crosstalk. [Journal Article]
Lab Chip. 2026 Aug 27. [Online ahead of print]de Brouwer L, Pozo Garcia V, … Wilmes ALC
  • The liver and kidneys are essential for drug metabolism and clearance and are highly sensitive to toxicity. Most in vitro models assess these organs in isolation, limiting the study of inter-organ interactions. Here, an induced pluripotent stem cell (iPSC)-derived kidney-liver organ-on-a-chip model was developed that co-cultured hepatocyte-like cell (HLC) organobodies and proximal tubular-like ce…
  • Optimising Clinical Outcomes Following R1 Resection in Soft Tissue Sarcoma: An Evidence-Based Approach. [Review]
    Curr Treat Options Oncol. 2026 Aug 21; 27(1).Remiszewski P, Rosiński M, … Czarnecka AMCT
  • Microscopically positive surgical margins (R1) complicate 15-30% of soft tissue sarcoma (STS) resections and independently worsen local recurrence and overall survival, yet no randomised trial has targeted the R1 population; we recommend risk-adapted management directed by a multidisciplinary team at a specialist sarcoma centre. Decision-making should integrate histological subtype, tumour grade,…
  • Mitochondrial dysfunction in ifosfamide-induced nephrotoxicity: Mechanisms and possible interventions. [Review]
    Eur J Pharmacol. 2026 Aug 19; 1033:179269. [Online ahead of print]Liang K, Ciapaite J, … van den Berg GEJ
  • Ifosfamide is a chemotherapeutic agent used to treat aggressive solid tumors, but nephrotoxicity is a serious adverse effect and a risk factor for chronic kidney disease. Isophosphoramide mustard is the therapeutically active metabolite, whereas chloroacetaldehyde (CAA) is considered the nephrotoxic metabolite. The kidney injury predominantly affects the proximal tubule and has been linked to mit…
  • A Single Center Review of Patients Undergoing High-Dose Chemotherapy for Relapsed Germ-Cell Tumors. [Journal Article]
Asia Pac J Clin Oncol. 2026 Aug 13. [Online ahead of print]Millican J, Moujaber T, … Gurney HAP
  • CONCLUSIONS: At this institution, patients receiving ICE as a conditioning regimen before autologous stem cell rescue appear to have a longer RFS and higher OS than those receiving CE. We consider the use of CE alone as a conditioning regimen to be inadequate, which supports our adoption of the more intense paclitaxel, ifosfamide-carboplatin, etoposide regimen as our standard.
  • Primary pulmonary artery synovial sarcoma: a case report. [Case Reports]
AME Case Rep. 2026; 10:138.Xiao Y, Liu Z, Li SAC
  • CONCLUSIONS: This case highlights the diagnostic challenges of PPASS, which can mimic myxoma on echocardiography. A broad base, unclear border, and atypical contrast perfusion should raise suspicion for malignancy. Definitive diagnosis relies on histopathology and molecular detection of SS18 rearrangement.
  • Langerhans cell sarcoma of the right calf: a case report. [Case Reports]
AME Case Rep. 2026; 10:146.Zhang N, He AAC
  • CONCLUSIONS: Given the rarity of LCS, there are no standardized recommendations for adjuvant therapy, including radiotherapy and chemotherapy regimens for both localized and systemic disease. This case suggests that surgical excision followed by chemotherapy may be effective in preventing and controlling recurrence and systemic progression. Further research is needed to establish evidence-based management guidelines for LCS.
