- [Automated insulin delivery (AID) systems, physical activity and sports in type 1 diabetes mellitus: joint guidelines of the DDG and ÖDG]. [Practice Guideline]
- The increased availability and use of automated insulin delivery (AID) systems in recent years have shown that individuals using AID systems can more easily and consistently achieve glycemic targets and that this is associated with improvements in quality of life. Alongside this technological progress, regular physical activity and exercise remain cornerstones of diabetes management for individua…

- Advances in exercise snacks for interrupting sedentary behavior and promoting physical activity: a narrative review. [Review]Front Public Health. 2026; 14:1810516.FP
- Sedentary behavior is associated with higher all-cause mortality and increased cardiometabolic risk, while lack of time remains a major barrier to regular physical activity (PA). Exercise snacks are a daily-life PA strategy characterized by short, repeatable bouts of activity distributed across multiple time points throughout the day. This format may help interrupt prolonged sitting and increase …

- Medication non-adherence in patients with type 2 diabetes: a cross-sectional study in Morocco. [Journal Article]Pan Afr Med J. 2025; 52:187.PA
- CONCLUSIONS: medication non-adherence remains highly prevalent among patients with type 2 diabetes. Our findings highlight the importance of strengthening therapeutic education, improving access to medications, and promoting healthy lifestyle behaviors to enhance adherence. Targeted interventions addressing both behavioral and healthcare system-related barriers are essential to improve long-term diabetes outcomes in the Moroccan context.

- Diet, Physical Exercise, and Gut Microbiota Modulation in Metabolic Syndrome: A Narrative Review. [Review]
- CONCLUSIONS: Lifestyle-based interventions exert diet- and exercise-specific effects on the gut microbiota-metabolism axis. While MedDiet, DASH, and regular moderate physical activity appear to promote sustainable microbiota-mediated cardiometabolic benefits, ketogenic approaches require careful personalization, limited duration, and medical supervision. These findings support the integration of dietary quality, exercise prescription, and individual microbiota responsiveness into translational lifestyle strategies for MetS prevention and management.

- Assessment of Serum Ferritin in Patients with Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus. [Journal Article]Mymensingh Med J. 2026 Jan; 35(1):66-71.MM
- Type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) is developed through the coexistence of β-cell dysfunction and insulin resistance. T2DM causes multiple complications, increase mortality and morbidity that make huge social and economic burden. Bangladesh is experiencing a rising prevalence of the disease, posing major challenges for health policy planners. Circulating ferritin concentrations may be related with t…
- The role of exercise and nutrition in modulating inflammatory cytokines activity for obesity management. [Review]
- Obesity is recognized as a systemic disease characterized by chronic, low-grade inflammation. The persistent inflammatory state can be driven by secretion of cytokines from adipose tissue, also known as adipokines. In patients with obesity, adipose tissue releases elevated levels of pro-inflammatory cytokines that can have an autocrine and paracrine function. The main cytokines involved in this p…

- Modeling the cumulative benefits of regular physical activity on type 2 diabetes progression. [Journal Article]Comput Biol Med. 2025 Nov; 198(Pt A):111194.CB
- Despite the well-acknowledged benefits of physical activity for type 2 diabetes (T2D) prevention, the literature lacks validated models able to predict the long-term benefits of exercise on T2D progression and that could be used to support personalized risk prediction and prevention. To bridge this gap, we developed a novel mathematical model that formalizes the link between exercise and short- a…

- Effectiveness of Telemedicine and Electronic Call Reminder and Health Education Trial (TECARE Trial) for Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus: A Randomized Controlled Trial. [Journal Article]
- Introduction Lifestyle management plays a vital role in the care of patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM). Empowering individuals through education on lifestyle and behavior can be effectively supported by technology. This study aimed to evaluate the impact of telemedicine services on glycemic control, medication adherence, and insulin resistance among patients with T2DM. Materials and me…

- Serum value of fasting C-peptide (FC-P), fasting insulin (FIns), and glycated hemoglobin (HbA1c) after dynamic blood glucose monitoring-guided personalised nutrition and insulin pump therapy for type II diabetes mellitus. [Journal Article]
- CONCLUSIONS: The QCC nursing model, when integrated with individualised nutrition and insulin pump therapy guided by CGM, significantly enhances blood glucose control, optimises insulin therapy, and improves patient outcomes, including dietary habits, quality of life, and reduction in hypoglycemic events. This model shows promise as an effective strategy for managing T2DM and warrants further adoption in clinical practice.

- From inflammation to intervention: exploring shared mechanisms and lifestyle strategies in diabetes mellitus and multiple sclerosis. [Review]
- Diabetes mellitus (DM) and multiple sclerosis (MS), while affecting metabolic and neurological systems respectively, share convergent immunometabolic pathways. This review synthesizes recent evidence elucidating overlapping mechanisms linking DM and MS, emphasizing metabolic dysfunction and systemic inflammation, with therapeutic potential of lifestyle interventions alongside pharmacotherapy. - [Remote glycemic control using devices for wireless data transmission in children with type 1 diabetes mellitus: interim results of clinical approbation]. [Journal Article]
- CONCLUSIONS: Using a glucose meter in combination with diabetes management software and remote data transfer capabilities is associated with significant improvements in glycemic control in children with T1DM. Further results of clinical testing will allow a more detailed assessment of the effectiveness of this approach, but it can already be said that wider use of these opportunities may improve the availability of medical care and achieve better compensation for many patients with T1DM.

- Effects of the Ketogenic Diet on Gonadal Hormones: A Systematic Review. [Systematic Review]
- CONCLUSIONS: A eucaloric isonitrogenous KD may offer (i) beneficial weight loss, (ii) a change in anabolic hormone levels (total testosterone, insulin-like growth factor 1 [IGF-1] in physically active men, depending on the intensity of exercise, the amount of fat-free mass when starting the diet, and the caloric volume of the diet), and a beneficial effect on gonadal hormones in women with polycystic ovary syndrome (by decreasing testosterone levels, improving the LH/FSH ratio, improving insulin sensitivity, and improving menstrual cycle regularity. Factors such as the study population, the presence of comorbidities, and the physical activity level of the participants may influence these effects.
