- Evaluating the Impact of Enhanced Stent Visualization on PCI Outcomes in Older Patients With Multivessel Disease. [Journal Article]Catheter Cardiovasc Interv. 2026 Aug 21. [Online ahead of print]CC
- CONCLUSIONS: In older MI patients with complex multivessel disease, ESV-guided PCI was associated with greater procedural optimization, improved acute stent expansion, and lower long-term adverse events. While not a substitute for intracoronary imaging, ESV represents a pragmatic and valuable adjunct to enhance PCI quality in settings where intravascular imaging is seldom performed.

- Effects of different slaughter weights on meat quality parameters and gene expression related to fat metabolism in muscles, liver, and gluteal fat in Lalahan lambs. [Journal Article]
- The study examined the meat quality characteristics and expression levels of 3 genes (SREBP-1c, PPAR γ , and FASN) affecting fatty acid composition in Lalahan lambs at different slaughter weights. Thirty-six male lambs were randomly divided into three groups and fed intensively. Six lambs from each group were slaughtered at average slaughter weights of 35 (Gr35), 40 (Gr40), and 45 kg (Gr45), resp…

- A Single-Center Trial on Conservative Treatment and Prognosis of Severe Bile Leak After Laparoscopic Radical Resection of Congenital Choledochal Cysts. [Journal Article]J Pediatr Surg. 2026 Aug 19; :163388. [Online ahead of print]JP
- CONCLUSIONS: Continuous conservative management is effective for severe bile leak, but anastomotic stenosis risk persists. Timely surgery is needed for infected cases or suspected aberrant bile ducts.

- Correlation Between Lower Lobe Dose Parameters and Radiation Pneumonitis in Definitive Radiation Therapy for Non-Small Cell Lung Cancer. [Journal Article]
- CONCLUSIONS: Low V20% was independently associated with Grade ≥ 2 RP and may provide complementary information to conventional whole-lung DVH parameters and BI. This simple lobar-specific parameter may help refine pretreatment RP risk stratification, although external validation is required before its incorporation into individualized planning constraints.

- Area-selective deposition for self-aligned e-beam lithography resist. [Journal Article]Mater Horiz. 2026 Aug 18. [Online ahead of print]MH
- As the cornerstone of semiconductor manufacturing, lithography drives the miniaturization of nanoscale devices. The solution-processed resists commonly used in lithography face crucial hurdles due to solvent-induced defects, such as pattern collapse and interfacial incompatibility. Although dry resists have emerged as a promising solution, the lack of self-alignment hinders the heterogeneous inte…

- AI-Based Digital Assessment of Gross Motor Function in Metachromatic Leukodystrophy. [Journal Article]IEEE Trans Neural Syst Rehabil Eng. 2026; 34:3679-3693.IT
- Gross motor function in metachromatic leukodystrophy (MLD) is routinely assessed using the GMFC-MLD scale, but expert video-based scoring is resource-intensive and difficult to scale across sites and time. We propose a privacy-preserving, skeleton-based framework to estimate visit-level GMFC-MLD scores from long, heterogeneous motor-assessment videos. Using recordings from the multi-site EMBOLDEN…

- Anatomical and functional outcomes and prognostic factors after idiopathic full-thickness macular hole surgery: a single-center retrospective cohort study. [Journal Article]
- CONCLUSIONS: Surgery achieved anatomical closure in most eyes and significant six-month visual improvement. Baseline visual acuity and MLD may be clinically relevant markers of postoperative outcome, whereas the apparent unadjusted visual benefit of temporal inverted ILM flap surgery should be interpreted cautiously.

- Eradication of pre-clinical prostate tumors by a lentiviral vector-based immunotherapy. [Journal Article]
- Prostate cancer kills ≈350,000 yearly. While localized cases have 99% five-year survival, metastatic prostate cancer is hard to treat, with few options for tumors resistant to androgen deprivation. To leverage the immune system to fight prostate cancer, we developed a non-integrative lentiviral vector, namely "Lenti-PROST-02", which encodes clusters of T cell immunodominant regions of human prost…

- Comparing Different Planning Strategies for Pencil Beam Scanning Carbon Ion Radiotherapy for Stage I Peripheral Non-Small Lung Cancer: Toward Optimized Clinical Decision-Making. [Journal Article]Int J Radiat Oncol Biol Phys. 2026 Aug 13. [Online ahead of print]IJ
- CONCLUSIONS: This study provides quantitative data for evidence-based planning strategy selection in stage I peripheral NSCLC receiving CIRT. Without RO, larger margin (CTV+ME) is recommended; DO is advised for solid tumors and may also benefit GGOs under uncertainty. With RO, a smaller margin (CTV) is sufficient, and DO remains valuable for solid tumors.

- Coronal stability at mid-stance is preserved in mechanically aligned medial pivot total knee arthroplasty despite intraoperative lateral laxity. [Journal Article]Knee. 2026 Aug 12; 63:104597. [Online ahead of print]KNEE
- CONCLUSIONS: These findings indicate that for mechanical alignment this medial pivot design may accommodate a certain degree of lateral laxity without compromising coronal stability during the mid-stance phase of gait when medial stability is preserved.

- Tetrandrine injection for preventing radiation-induced lung injury in patients with locally advanced esophageal squamous cell carcinoma: a randomized controlled trial protocol. [Journal Article]Front Oncol. 2026; 16:1895499.FO
- Radiation-induced lung injury (RILI) is a common and dose-limiting toxicity in patients with locally advanced esophageal squamous cell carcinoma (ESCC) receiving concurrent chemoradiotherapy (CCRT). Effective prophylactic agents are lacking. Tetrandrine, a bisbenzylisoquinoline alkaloid, has shown anti-inflammatory and anti-fibrotic properties in preclinical studies. - Volume ratio factor: a novel CT-derived biomarker for pre-planning ipsilateral lung dose risk stratification in breast cancer radiotherapy. [Journal Article]Quant Imaging Med Surg. 2026 Aug 01; 16(8):616.QI
- CONCLUSIONS: VRF is a simple and interpretable CT-derived biomarker that captures three‑dimensional target‑lung spatial interaction. It enables pre‑planning risk stratification of ipsilateral lung dose and may support geometry‑informed, individualized radiotherapy planning.

- Dosimetric parameter-based machine learning to predict radiation pneumonitis following breast radiotherapy. [Journal Article]Phys Med Biol. 2026 Aug 12; 71(15).PM
- Objective.Radiation pneumonitis (RP) is an important toxicity following breast radiotherapy. Although modern treatment techniques limit lung exposure, some patients still develop symptomatic RP, and predicting who is at risk remains difficult. This study aimed to develop and validate machine learning (ML) models based on ipsilateral-lung dosimetric parameters to predict clinically significant RP …
