  • Progress of GDF-15 in preeclampsia: a review. [Review]
    Biomark Med. 2026 Sep 28; :1-12. [Online ahead of print]Zhou M, Zhang D, … Xu XBM
  • Preeclampsia is a multisystem hypertensive disorder of pregnancy that significantly increases maternal and fetal morbidity and long‑term cardiovascular risk. Growth differentiation factor 15 (GDF‑15) is a stress‑responsive member of the TGF‑β superfamily that is highly expressed in the placenta and secreted into the maternal circulation, where levels rise markedly during gestation. Emerging evide…
  • Comparison of vascular access outcomes in octogenarian patients undergoing hemodialysis. [Journal Article]
    J Vasc Access. 2026 Sep 28; :11297298261486404. [Online ahead of print]Koh HH, Kang M, … Kim SJJV
  • CONCLUSIONS: In patients aged ⩾80 years, AVF provides superior primary patency despite longer maturation, whereas repeated interventions enabled AVG to achieve comparable secondary patency. These findings support individualized vascular access selection according to expected maturation and clinical circumstances, with preoperative vein diameter serving as an important factor when considering AVF creation.
  • Next-generation brain organoids: neural complexity from cellular diversity to functional networks. [Journal Article]
Brain. 2026 Sep 28. [Online ahead of print]Duan CH, Wang YK, … Liu CMB
  • Brain organoids, as pioneering three-dimensional (3D) in vitro platforms, have profoundly advanced our understanding of human brain development and disease mechanisms. This review summarizes recent progress in enhancing cellular diversity, structural organization, and functional complexity within brain organoids. A key application of these models lies in disease modelling, encompassing neurodevel…
  • HIV-1 Vpr Drives a B Cell-Like Phenotype in Primary CD4[+] T Cells. [Journal Article]
    MedComm (2020). 2026 Oct; 7(10):e71018.Wang P, Li J, … Cai JM
  • CD4[+] T cells are the principal cellular targets of HIV-1, yet the extent to which viral proteins reshape their transcriptional identity remains incompletely understood. Here, using an integrated multi-omics approach, we identified a distinct population of HIV-1 RNA-positive CD4[+] T cells that localized within transcriptionally defined B-cell clusters and expressed multiple canonical B cell-ass…
  • Zebrafish against cancer: towards clinical relevance. [Review]
    Dis Model Mech. 2026 Sep 01; 19(9).Forn-Cuni G, Lopes-Bastos B, … Snaar-Jagalska BEDM
  • Most cancer therapeutics that show preclinical promise fail in clinical trials, underscoring the need for complementary disease models. Over the past two decades, zebrafish models have matured from a tool for studying vertebrate development into a versatile platform spanning the translational cancer pipeline. Transgenic and transplantation zebrafish models have dissected fundamental mechanisms of…
  • [Correlation Between Molecular Genetic Features and Clinical Prognosis in Pediatric Burkitt Lymphoma]. [Journal Article]
Zhongguo Shi Yan Xue Ye Xue Za Zhi. 2026 Aug; 34(4):1012-1017.Wang J, Xiong H, … Wang WZS
  • CONCLUSIONS: BL patients harbor a characteristic genetic mutation profile, which correlates with certain clinical features but shows limited independent prognostic value in this cohort. Plasma ctDNA demonstrates high concordance with the mutation profile of tissue samples, and its dynamic changes reflect treatment response. However, its clinical utility requires validation in prospective studies.
  • ADAM19: biological characteristics and implications in disease pathology and clinical applications. [Review]
    Inflamm Res. 2026 Sep 27; 75(1).Hu Y, Wang X, … Wu YIR
  • This article critically examines ADAM19-mediated inflammatory remodeling within five distinct subtypes of solid tumors prone to inflammation, employing non-neoplastic inflammatory states strictly as a comparative reference. As a transmembrane protease belonging to the ADAM family, ADAM19 undergoes maturation through plasmin-dependent cleavage, with its expression tightly regulated by both transcr…
  • When standard rectal cancer treatment conflicts with pregnancy preservation: a multidisciplinary clinical challenge. [Case Reports]
Clin Res Hepatol Gastroenterol. 2026 Sep 26; :102927. [Online ahead of print]Sakhri S, Abidi F, … Dhiab TBCR
  • CONCLUSIONS: This case highlights that management of locally advanced rectal cancer during pregnancy requires individualized multidisciplinary decision-making. When standard treatment pathways cannot be fully applied, carefully selected temporary strategies may allow pregnancy preservation while maintaining curative oncological intent. Early diagnosis, close maternal-fetal monitoring, and shared decision-making are essential components of care.
