- We evaluated 14 304 Pseudomonas aeruginosa isolates from 56 US medical centers (2015-2024). Ceftazidime-avibactam, ceftolozane-tazobactam, and imipenem-relebactam were active against 97.0%-97.9% of isolates overall. Piperacillin-tazobactam and ceftazidime activities decreased slightly during the study period, whereas the activities of meropenem, levofloxacin, and tobramycin improved since 2017.

- CONCLUSIONS: These findings show that while locally delivered antibiotic combinations eliminate early biofilms, mature biofilms demonstrate significant tolerance. MIC analysis showed little or no change in vancomycin, gentamicin, and tobramycin susceptibility after treatment, indicating no evident increase in planktonic antibiotic resistance among the surviving isolates. Together, these results highlight the importance of early intervention and the need for strategies that disrupt biofilm structure or improve antibiotic penetration to enhance PJI treatment outcomes.

- CONCLUSIONS: Human cutaneous Nocardia isolates possess a conserved core virulence-associated genomic framework accompanied by variable virulence modules, while their antimicrobial resistance determinants and phenotypic resistance profiles show substantial species-dependent variation. These findings provide genomic insights into the diversity, potential pathogenicity, and antimicrobial resistance of cutaneous Nocardia isolates and provide a basis for further investigation of the pathogenesis and clinical management of cutaneous nocardiosis.

- CONCLUSIONS: Antimicrobial-laden PerOssal hydroxyapatite and calcium sulphate beads displayed in vitro inhibition and killing of XDR Gram-negative bacteria associated with contaminated traumatic wounds. Early local antimicrobial delivery may reduce infection risk following heavily contaminated open fractures, particularly when surgical wound excision is delayed. This may be relevant to both modern conflict and civilian disaster settings. Further work is required to determine the effectiveness of this approach in vivo.
