- Bidirectional ventricular tachycardia unmasked by beta-blockade in pheochromocytoma presenting as hypertensive optic neuropathy: a case report and literature review. [Case Reports]
- CONCLUSIONS: Bidirectional ventricular tachycardia may be the initial manifestation of pheochromocytoma and may be unmasked by beta-blockade administered before alpha-blockade. Unexplained BVT accompanied by blood-pressure fluctuations should prompt biochemical screening and adrenal imaging. Etiologic treatment is curative, whereas antiarrhythmic therapy alone is insufficient. We review the previously published cases to contextualize this rare phenotype.

- OsZTL1 is involved in phosphate deficiency tolerance and cell wall phosphorus reutilization in rice. [Journal Article]Ann Bot. 2026 Oct 23. [Online ahead of print]AB
- CONCLUSIONS: Our findings suggest a function for OsZTL1 in rice acclimation to P limitation and an association with NO-related changes in root cell-wall P reutilization. The SNP results do not establish that NO acts directly downstream of OsZTL1; genetic evidence is needed to test this relationship.

- Exogenous SNP alleviates high-temperature stress in rice at flowering via coordinated antioxidant, nitrogen, and hormone regulation. [Journal Article]Plant Physiol Biochem. 2026 Oct 05; 239:111821. [Online ahead of print]PP
- High-temperature stress during flowering poses a severe threat to global rice production. Although nitric oxide (NO) is known to mediate plant stress responses, its protective role during this critical developmental stage remains poorly understood. In this study, we investigated the protective effects of the NO donor sodium nitroprusside (SNP) on a heat-tolerant cultivar (N22) and a heat-sensitiv…

- Melatonin Coordinates Root Cell-Wall Zinc Remobilization and Shoot Transport via Nitric Oxide Signaling Under Zinc Deficiency in Rice. [Journal Article]J Pineal Res. 2026 Nov; 78(6):e70191.JP
- Although zinc (Zn) deficiency severely inhibits rice growth, it remains unclear how melatonin (MT) promotes adaptation under conditions of insufficient Zn supply. To address this issue, rice seedlings were treated with MT, the NO donor sodium nitroprusside (SNP), or the NO scavenger c-PTIO, alone or in combination, under Zn-deficient conditions. Zn starvation rapidly promoted endogenous MT accumu…

- Aquaporin AtTIP5;1 negatively regulates nitric oxide-promoted lateral root development by affecting auxin transport and homeostasis of reactive oxygen species in roots of Arabidopsis. [Journal Article]
- Aquaporins and nitric oxide (NO) are essential regulators of lateral root (LR) development in plants. However, whether an aquaporin could modulate NO-affected LR formation remains elusive. Here, we show that the tonoplast intrinsic aquaporin protein AtTIP5;1 negatively regulates NO-promoted LR development. AtTIP5;1 is highly expressed in root pericycle cells. AtTIP5;1 overexpression causes signif…
