- Successful treatment of recurrent epithelioid trophoblastic tumor (ETT) with pembrolizumab after pembrolizumab: A case report and review of literature in treatment of ETT. [Case Reports]Gynecol Oncol Rep. 2026 Oct; 67:102209.GO
- CONCLUSIONS: Use of immunotherapy with anti-PD-1 inhibitors has been successful in cases of GTN due to expression of PD-L1 in placental tissue and in GTN. This case adds to the limited data on immunotherapy in advanced ETT and is the first example of using immunotherapy after immunotherapy in the literature.

- Case Report: Triple-negative metaplastic breast carcinoma with primary resistance to neoadjuvant chemoimmunotherapy, refractory tumor necrosis-related fever, and rapid postoperative disease progression. [Case Reports]Front Oncol. 2026; 16:1943838.FO
- CONCLUSIONS: This case highlights that persistent fever during neoadjuvant chemoimmunotherapy in MpBC should prompt careful exclusion of infection, while tumor necrosis-related fever and immune-inflammatory amplification should also be considered. In patients with suspected or confirmed MpBC who develop early tumor progression, necrosis, ulceration, fever, or deterioration in performance status, timely pathological review, reassessment of treatment response, and multidisciplinary decision-making are essential. Earlier surgery may be necessary to establish definitive pathology, control the local inflammatory source, and preserve subsequent treatment opportunities.

- Squamous cell carcinoma arising from ovarian mature cystic teratoma with concurrent cervical high-risk HPV infection and low-grade squamous intraepithelial lesion: a case report. [Case Reports]BMC Womens Health. 2026 Sep 18; 26(1).BW
- CONCLUSIONS: For patients with ovarian teratoma, it is necessary to be vigilant about the malignant transformation when the patients are elderly with a large mass and elevated tumor biomarkers. However, it is not clear whether the role of the gene mutation-driven mechanism is in the pathogenesis of this case, since substantive evidence based on genomic sequencing is lacking.

- Very Late Chronic Total Occlusion After Drug-Coated Balloon Treatment for a Diffuse Long Coronary Lesion in Unstable Angina: A Case Report. [Case Reports]Cureus. 2026 Aug; 18(8):e115481.C
- A drug-coated balloon (DCB) strategy has become an established option for de novo coronary lesions, offering the advantage of avoiding permanent implants. However, very long-term vascular changes after stentless percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) remain insufficiently characterized. We report a case of chronic total occlusion that developed eight years after DCB angioplasty for a diffuse lo…

- Electroacupuncture Ameliorates Hyperalgesia and Anxiety-Like Behaviors in Chemotherapy-Induced Peripheral Neuropathy Mice Through Inhibition of Astrocyte-Mediated Neuronal Activation in the Anterior Cingulate Cortex. [Journal Article]J Pain Res. 2026; 19:635257.JP
- CONCLUSIONS: EA alleviates CIPN-induced pain hypersensitivity and anxiety-like behaviors by suppressing astrocytic activation, normalizing GAT-1 expression and GABA levels, and attenuating neuronal activation in the ACC. These findings identify astrocyte-mediated neuronal activation as a novel mechanism involved in EA-induced analgesia and a potential therapeutic target for CIPN and its associated affective comorbidities. Overall, this study provides preclinical mechanistic evidence for further evaluating EA as an adjunctive non-pharmacological approach for the integrated management of neuropathic pain and affective symptoms in patients with CIPN.

- Clinical Outcomes and Prognostic Factors of ABCP Therapy in EGFR-mutated NSCLC in the Osimertinib Era. [Journal Article]Anticancer Res. 2026 Oct; 46(10):5609-5617.AR
- CONCLUSIONS: ABCP therapy was associated with a median PFS of 6.9 months and median OS of 20.2 months, with no unexpected safety signals in patients with EGFR-mutated NSCLC after EGFR-TKI failure. Stage IVB disease and poor ECOG PS are independent prognostic factors for survival, whereas prior osimertinib treatment is not significantly associated with survival outcomes. Overall, stage IVB disease and poor ECOG PS were associated with survival outcomes, whereas prior osimertinib exposure was not significantly associated with PFS or OS in this cohort.

- Paraneoplastic dermatomyositis preceding detection of metastatic oesophageal squamous cell carcinoma after prolonged remission following pembrolizumab therapy. [Case Reports]BMJ Case Rep. 2026 Oct 01; 19(10).BC
- Dermatomyositis is a recognised paraneoplastic inflammatory myopathy although its association with oesophageal malignancy is uncommon. Most reported cases either precede or accompany the initial diagnosis of malignancy. We report a man in his late fifties with previously treated oesophageal squamous cell carcinoma who developed florid dermatomyositis after approximately 6 years of sustained remis…

- Combined Gemcitabine and Nab-Paclitaxel Treatment Restores Gut Microbiota Homeostasis in an Orthotopic Pancreatic Ductal Adenocarcinoma Mouse Model. [Journal Article]Cancer Res Treat. 2026 Sep 29. [Online ahead of print]CR
- CONCLUSIONS: This is the first study to demonstrate recovery of a partial, chemotherapy-associated shift toward a more balanced gut microbiota composition in a xenogenic orthotopic PDAC-bearing BALB/c nude mouse model after systemic chemotherapy of gemcitabine/nab-paclitaxel. Our findings provide proof-of-concept evidence that systemic chemotherapy-based approaches may be associated with amelioration of gut microbiota dysbiosis in a xenogenic orthotopic PDAC mouse model.

- Paclitaxel (PTX) is a potent chemotherapeutic agent for solid malignancies. However, its poor aqueous solubility necessitates toxic solubilizers in conventional formulations, which lead to adverse reactions and unpredictable pharmacokinetics. Liposomal encapsulation offers a biocompatible alternative to overcome these limitations. In this study, a sensitive ultrafiltration coupled with ultra-perf…

- Rethinking Treatment Intensification in Poorly Chemosensitive Ovarian Cancer: A Review. [Journal Article]JAMA Oncol. 2026 Oct 01. [Online ahead of print]JO
- CONCLUSIONS: Early identification of poorly chemosensitive advanced high-grade serous ovarian cancer enables a response-adapted first-line strategy in which treatment intensification is selectively offered to patients most likely to benefit-an approach now being prospectively evaluated in the phase 3 SALVOVAR and phase 1/2 RegeNovar trials. This framework provides a clinically actionable platform to test novel therapies aimed at increasing complete interval cytoreduction rates and improving survival in a population with otherwise limited options.

- Background The chemoradiotherapy for oesophageal cancer followed by surgery study (CROSS) protocol, combining neoadjuvant chemoradiotherapy with surgical resection, is the standard of care for patients with locally advanced oesophageal cancer. Real-world patients often don't meet CROSS trial criteria. We evaluated if the trial's positive results apply to patients with large, ineligible lesions. M…

- Case Report: Dramatic response of trastuzumab rezetecan in an NSCLC patient with EGFR sensitive mutation and primary ERBB2 genetic alterations. [Case Reports]
- Epidermal growth factor receptor tyrosine kinase inhibitors (EGFR-TKIs) have provided significant clinical benefit to patients with EGFR-mutant non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC), but multiple concurrent genetic alterations may limit their efficacy. We report a case of advanced lung adenocarcinoma harboring concurrent EGFR exon 19 deletion, ERBB2 amplification, and ERBB2 p.S310F mutation. The pat…
