- Severe growth retardation in Dent disease: a case report of a novel OCRL variant. [Case Reports]CEN Case Rep. 2026 Oct 14; 15(6).CC
- CONCLUSIONS: Dent disease can present with a wide range of clinical findings. This case report describes a novel OCRL gene variant associated with DD-2. This newly identified variant contributes to the genotypic and phenotypic diversity of the disease, however, without functional validation, it is difficult to determine whether growth retardation is a significant complication in DD-2. Early diagnosis and a multidisciplinary approach are crucial for improving long-term outcomes.

- CHARGE syndrome with hypothyroidism: a case report. [Case Reports]AME Case Rep. 2026; 10:188.AC
- CONCLUSIONS: This case highlights the importance of an early genetic diagnosis and intervention not only for CS but also for other endocrine disorders. Additionally, as a multi-system disease, CS requires the efforts of doctors from multiple disciplines for its successful treatment.

- Developing and evaluating per-protocol adherence definitions in a large pragmatic clinical trial: insights from the Diuretic Comparison Project. [Journal Article]
- CONCLUSIONS: Defining adherence requires complex decision-making hybrid framework entailing both clinical and statistical expertise. Pragmatic studies should allow flexibility to generate data-driven, clinically-sensitive measures that appropriately describe trial compliance.

- Angiotensin peptide and aldosterone concentrations in response to four classes of blood-pressure-lowering drugs in hypertensive patients: A randomized trial. [Journal Article]
- The renin angiotensin aldosterone system (RAS) regulates blood pressure and fluid balance by a cascade of angiotensin (Ang) peptides. Antihypertensive drug classes differentially modulate this cascade. This study examined how four mechanistically distinct antihypertensive drugs affect plasma concentrations of 10 Ang peptides and aldosterone in untreated hypertensive patients. In this randomized, …

- In-hospital sting challenge during venom immunotherapy has a high negative predictive value for subsequent sting reactions. [Journal Article]
- CONCLUSIONS: In patients on ongoing VIT a tolerated in-hospital sting provocation has a high negative predictive value (98.2%) in relation to the outcome of later field stings. The majority of these patients will subsequently not develop systemic reactions.

- A Case of Misdiagnosed Pediatric Congenital Nephrogenic Diabetes Insipidus due to AQP2 Variants. [Journal Article]
- CONCLUSIONS: This case highlights the diagnostic pitfalls of CNDI in infancy and underscores the pivotal role of early CP assessment and molecular genetic testing in distinguishing CNDI from CDI. Prompt recognition of CNDI is essential to avoid ineffective dDAVP therapy and to initiate a targeted multidisciplinary approach. Rare AQP2 mutations further expand the genotypic spectrum of CNDI and emphasize the need for heightened clinical awareness and early referral to specialized centers.

- Disappearance of Posterior Pituitary Hyperintensity in Arginine Vasopressin Resistance: A Case Report. [Case Reports]Turk Arch Pediatr. 2026 May 22; 61(10):945-948.TA
- The evaluation of arginine vasopressin resistance (AVP-R) and arginine vasopressin deficiency (AVP-D), respectively, previously referred to as nephrogenic and central diabetes insipidus, often includes brain magnetic resonance imaging (MRI). Its purpose is to assess pituitary structural changes and identify the physiological T1 hyperintensity of the posterior pituitary, present in most individual…

- Dissolution Rate and Stability Improvement of Hydrochlorothiazide and Valsartan by Co-Amorphous Formulation. [Journal Article]
- The current study aimed to improve the dissolution rate and physical stability of two antihypertensive drugs, hydrochlorothiazide, and valsartan, through the development of a co-amorphous system. A co-amorphous system was successfully prepared at molar ratios of 1:1, 1:2, and 1:6 employing rotary evaporation technique. Characterization of the formulations was performed using powder X-ray diffract…

- Translating adsorption performance from batch experiments to continuous-flow operation is a key step toward practical water-treatment applications. In this study, a laboratory-scale continuous adsorption system based on a water-insoluble β-cyclodextrin-epichlorohydrin (β-CD-EPI) polymer was validated from hydrodynamic, adsorptive, and operational perspectives. Downflow operation caused progressiv…

- Long-Term Control of Refractory Cardiogenic Pleural Effusion in a Cat Treated with Sacubitril/Valsartan and Hydrochlorothiazide: A Case Report. [Case Reports]Animals (Basel). 2026 Aug 31; 16(17).A
- Sacubitril/valsartan is an angiotensin receptor-neprilysin inhibitor (ARNI) widely used in human heart failure and has demonstrated potential cardiorenal and neurohormonal effects in experimental canine studies. Hydrochlorothiazide is a thiazide diuretic that acts at a more distal segment of the nephron than furosemide. Its addition to loop diuretic therapy may enhance sodium and fluid excretion …
