- Ion Channel-Targeting Modulators in Glioma: Pharmacological Advances and Therapeutic Perspectives. [Review]
- Highly aggressive gliomas remain difficult to treat because of their marked invasiveness, frequent recurrence, and association with glioma-related epilepsy. Increasing evidence suggests that ion channels expressed in glioma cells, including voltage-gated Na[+] channels, large-conductance Ca[2+]-activated K[+] (BKCa) channels, intermediate-conductance Ca[2+]-activated K[+] (IKCa) channels, and inw…

- The potential of targeting adenosine 5'-monophosphate-activated protein kinase to treat peripheral artery disease: Evidence from preclinical mouse models. [Review]Vascul Pharmacol. 2026 Sep 25; 165:107708. [Online ahead of print]VP
- CONCLUSIONS: In mouse models of HLI, AMPK activation improved limb perfusion, reduced limb loss, and increased capillary density and p-eNOS levels, whereas inhibition had opposing effects. These findings support AMPK as a therapeutic target for limb ischemia.

- Suspected NIUAA after indobufen in a patient with ibuprofen allergy: a case report suggesting possible cross-reactivity. [Case Reports]
- Non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) are commonly used in clinical practice, and hypersensitivity reactions to them are not uncommon. Although ibuprofen and indobufen have different clinical indications, both exert their effects through cyclooxygenase inhibition, suggesting a potential risk of cross-reactivity. This report describes a 52-year-old female patient who experienced pruritus,…

- Efficacy and Safety of Fixed-Dose Combination Therapy with Cilostazol and Rosuvastatin in Patients with Symptomatic Lower Extremity Peripheral Artery Disease: A Multicenter Randomized Controlled Trial. [Journal Article]
- CONCLUSIONS: In patients with symptomatic PAD, the addition of cilostazol to rosuvastatin significantly improved patient-reported health status and provided additional favorable effects on atherogenic lipid profiles beyond rosuvastatin therapy alone.

- Cilostazol Treatment for Intracerebral Hemorrhage: Targeting Dural Lymphatics. [Journal Article]
- CONCLUSIONS: By promoting dural lymphatic remodeling and drainage, cilostazol facilitates hematoma resolution and neurological recovery after ICH. Cilostazol treatment does not exacerbate initial bleeding or provoke hematoma expansion in the experimental ICH. These findings support clinical translation and provide mechanistic and dosing rationale for an ongoing phase II randomized trial (URL: https://www.clinicaltrials.gov; Unique identifier: NCT06504576).

- Synergistic effects of sorafenib and cilostazol in HepG2 cells. [Journal Article]
- Sorafenib, an established multi-kinase inhibitor, is a cornerstone treatment for advanced hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC). This study evaluated the efficacy of combining sorafenib with cilostazol, a phosphodiesterase-3 inhibitor with emerging anticancer properties, in HepG2 cells. Cell proliferation, apoptosis, and expression of VEGF, SMAD4, Bcl-2, TGF-beta, Bax, and caspase-3 were assessed. Combi…

- Cilostazol and Functional Outcomes in Poor-Grade Aneurysmal Subarachnoid Hemorrhage: A Multicenter Retrospective Analysis. [Journal Article]
- Background/Objectives: Poor-grade aneurysmal subarachnoid hemorrhage (SAH; WFNS grades 4-5) carries a historically dismal prognosis, driven by early brain injury and delayed cerebral ischemia (DCI). Despite advances in neurocritical care, effective pharmacological strategies for this vulnerable population remain limited. This multicenter study investigated prognostic factors for functional recove…

- Peripheral artery disease in patients with persistent claudication after lumbar spine surgery: a primary care reassessment framework. [Journal Article]
- Persistent claudication after lumbar spinal surgery may reflect unrecognised peripheral artery disease (PAD) and delayed implementation of secondary cardiovascular prevention. Despite effective guideline-directed therapy, diagnostic and treatment gaps persist in routine practice. Vascular claudication may be under-recognised when exertional lower extremity symptoms are attributed solely to neurog…

- An Uninterrupted DOAC plus Single Antiplatelet Strategy for Carotid Artery Stenting in Patients with Atrial Fibrillation. [Journal Article]
- CONCLUSIONS: Uninterrupted DAT with a DOAC and SAPT may be a feasible periprocedural management strategy for CAS in patients with NVAF, without the need for DOAC interruption or triple therapy.

- Efficacy and safety of sublingual cilostazol and dexborneol for the treatment of acute ischaemic stroke: a randomised phase 2 trial in China. [Journal Article]
- Endovascular treatment has emerged as a cornerstone intervention for acute ischaemic stroke caused by large-vessel occlusion. However, a subset of patients experience futile recanalisation, correlating with unfavourable long-term outcomes. We aimed to investigate the efficacy and safety of Y-6 sublingual tablets (cilostazol and dexborneol) in ischaemic stroke patients with endovascular treatment.

- Emerging Neurovascular Interventions for the Prevention of Cerebral Vasospasm and Delayed Cerebral Ischemia After Aneurysmal Subarachnoid Hemorrhage: A Systematic Review. [Review]Cureus. 2026 Jul; 18(7):e111891.C
- Aneurysmal subarachnoid hemorrhage remains a major cause of neurological morbidity and mortality, with delayed cerebral ischemia and cerebral vasospasm representing important contributors to secondary brain injury and unfavorable functional recovery. Although conventional management strategies such as nimodipine administration, hemodynamic augmentation, and endovascular rescue therapy remain cent…

- Effects of intravenous human albumin, enteral cilostazol, and combination therapy on the reduction of delayed cerebral ischemia in patients with aneurysmal subarachnoid hemorrhage. [Journal Article]
- CONCLUSIONS: These simulations provide planning-level projections and do not establish efficacy. The findings support continued randomized evaluation of cilostazol and albumin, with concurrent single-agent, combination, and control arms to estimate component effects and interaction effects.

- Managing Antithrombotic Treatment in Intracerebral Hemorrhage and Ischemic Stroke Due to Cerebral Amyloid Angiopathy With Supporting Pathology. [Case Reports]Cureus. 2026 Jun; 18(6):e111206.C
- Cerebral amyloid angiopathy (CAA) is a small vessel disease marked by β-amyloid deposition within cortical and leptomeningeal vessels. It is associated with a range of hemorrhagic manifestations, including lobar intracerebral hemorrhage (ICH), cortical superficial siderosis, and convexity subarachnoid hemorrhage (cSAH). In addition to hemorrhagic complications, cerebral ischemic events may occur …
