- Impact of p53 Target Genes on Drug Resistance in TP53-Mutated B-Cell Precursor Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia. [Journal Article]Cancer Med. 2026 Oct; 15(10):e72386.CM
- TP53 mutations are linked to poor prognoses in B-cell precursor acute lymphoblastic leukemia (BCP-ALL), indicating that specific p53 target genes may contribute to drug resistance. Although the impact of specific genetic alterations on drug sensitivity has been reported in BCP-ALL, the effects of TP53 mutations on sensitivity to individual agents remain poorly defined in the clinical setting beca…

- Comparison of the efficacy of TXNDC5 monoclonal antibody versus conventional drugs in the treatment of intestinal fibrosis associated with inflammatory bowel disease. [Journal Article]J Mol Histol. 2026 Oct 14; 57(6).JM
- To compare the therapeutic efficacy of a thioredoxin domain-containing protein 5 (TXNDC5) monoclonal antibody (mAb) against prednisolone and sulfasalazine in DSS-induced IBD-related intestinal fibrosis mouse models. A total of 48 C57BL/6 mice were randomly divided into four model groups (Group A-D, 12 animals per group), while seven extra mice were assigned to the blank control group. Intestinal …

- Lyell´s syndrome associated with the use of topical agents: case report. [Case Reports]Rev Peru Med Exp Salud Publica. 2026 Aug 04; 43(3):402-407.RP
- Lyell's syndrome (LS) is a severe drug-induced cutaneous adverse reaction, associated with high morbidity and mortality. We present the case of a 41-year-old male who, after the use of topical medications, developed fever, maculopapular lesions, ocular and mucosal involvement, with affectation of more than 30% of the body surface area. Cutaneous biopsy ruled out other pathologies. Management incl…

- Myoclonus as a neurologic manifestation of hypoglycemia in dogs. [Multicenter Study]J Vet Intern Med. 2026 Sep 01; 40(5).JV
- CONCLUSIONS: Myoclonus might represent an underrecognized neurological manifestation of hypoglycemia in dogs. Measurement of blood glucose concentrations is a fundamental diagnostic approach for identifying hypoglycemia-related myoclonus. Treatment can lead to clinical improvement, but prognosis is dependent on the underlying cause.

- Neuroprotective potential of vitamin D3 against glucocorticoid-induced neurotoxicity: Focus on calcium-binding proteins and neuroinflammation in a rat model. [Journal Article]IBRO Neurosci Rep. 2026 Dec; 21:922-933.IN
- Prolonged glucocorticoid (GC) therapy is frequently complicated by secondary vitamin D3 deficiency, which acts as a potential pathogenetic modulator of GC-induced neurotoxicity. This study investigated the role of disturbed calcium homeostasis and neuroinflammation in GC-induced brain damage and evaluated the protective potential of vitamin D3 (VD3, cholecalciferol). Female Wistar rats (n = 54) w…

- Persistent multifocal pulmonary consolidations in a young adult: An unusual presentation of primary pulmonary follicular lymphoma. [Case Reports]Respir Med Case Rep. 2026; 64:102516.RM
- Primary pulmonary lymphoma (PPL) is rare malignancies, accounting for less than 1% of primary lung malignancies and extranodal lymphomas. Primary pulmonary follicular lymphoma is an uncommon subtype of PPL. Herein, we report the case of a 29-year-old immunocompitent man who presented with persistent pulmonary infiltrations despite appropriate antibiotic treatment for presumed pneumonia. Computed …

- Anti-GBM disease shortly after clinically presumed ANCA-associated vasculitis in an 85-year-old patient: a case report and literature review. [Case Reports]Front Nephrol. 2026; 6:1967122.FN
- CONCLUSIONS: This case suggests that anti-GBM disease can emerge shortly after apparent clinical remission of AAV. ANCA-mediated GBM injury and age-related GBM changes may contribute to subsequent anti-GBM autoimmunity, although these mechanisms remain hypothetical in this patient. Prompt anti-GBM antibody testing should be considered when a rapid, unexplained decline in kidney function occurs during or after AAV treatment.

- Unilateral eosinophilic fasciitis: a case report and review of the literature. [Journal Article]Fukushima J Med Sci. 2026 Oct 10. [Online ahead of print]FJ
- A 59-year-old Japanese man developed pruritus and swelling of the right dorsal foot after weeding his garden in a crouching position for approximately one hour. Over a period of five months, the swelling, as well as skin induration, progressed unilaterally from the right thigh to the lower leg and dorsal foot. Laboratory tests, including eosinophil fraction and inflammatory markers, were within n…

- Glucocorticoids can inhibit the pulsatile secretion of Gonadotropin-releasing-hormone (GnRH). Therefore, if the body's own cortisol is permanently elevated, as is the case in Cushing's syndrome or exogenous treatment with glucocorticoids, gonadotropin secretion can be weakened. Additionally, women's menstrual cycle and fertility can be affected due to hypothyroidism. Anti-Müllerian hormone (AMH) …

- Delayed eculizumab therapy guided by markedly elevated soluble C5b-9 in a child with dialysis-requiring acute poststreptococcal glomerulonephritis: a case report. [Case Reports]CEN Case Rep. 2026 Oct 12; 15(6).CC
- Eculizumab, a monoclonal antibody targeting complement C5, has been shown to be effective when administered within 2-4 days of disease onset in children with severe acute poststreptococcal glomerulonephritis (APSGN). However, since APSGN typically follows a self-limited clinical course in most patients, the optimal timing and latest feasible time window for eculizumab initiation in APSGN remain u…

- An unusual presentation of chronic granulomatous invasive fungal rhinosinusitis: A case report and review of the literature. [Case Reports]IDCases. 2026; 46:e02781.I
- CONCLUSIONS: GCIFR has a favorable outcome than other invasive types of fungal rhinosinusitis although it can present with multiple relapses. Management involves surgical debridement of the affected tissue and prolonged antifungal treatment for at least 6 months to minimize recurrence. Having the condition diagnosed at an early stage and treated prevents aggravated complications.

- Autoimmune hepatitis (AIH) is an autoimmune liver disease characterized by immune-mediated hepatocellular destruction. This review provides a comprehensive update on the changes in the clinical landscape of and advancements in therapy for AIH up to 2026. Recent epidemiological data indicate a significant increase in both the incidence and prevalence of AIH worldwide, emphasizing potential shifts …

- Prednisolone attenuates the immunomodulatory capacity and reshapes the functional phenotype of canine adipose-derived mesenchymal stromal cells. [Journal Article]
- CONCLUSIONS: Prednisolone reshapes cADSC function in a context-dependent manner, reducing immunomodulatory capacity without substantially impairing viability. These findings suggest that glucocorticoid exposure and inflammatory activation interact to modulate cADSC function and should be considered when optimizing MSC-based therapy for canine CIE.

- CONCLUSIONS: Adult-onset multifocal skeletal LCH should be considered in patients presenting with pathological fractures after low-energy trauma. Early histological diagnosis, multidisciplinary management, appropriate fracture stabilization, and timely systemic therapy may facilitate fracture healing and functional recovery. Longer follow-up with systemic imaging is required to determine long-term disease control.
