- Case Report: Tislelizumab-associated secondary adrenal insufficiency in a patient with lung squamous cell carcinoma. [Case Reports]Front Endocrinol (Lausanne). 2026; 17:1915283.FE
- CONCLUSIONS: Tislelizumab-associated SAI may present with nonspecific symptoms and remain unrecognized until adrenal crisis develops, including months after the last dose. Unexplained fatigue, gastrointestinal symptoms, weight loss, hyponatremia, hypoglycemia, or hypotension should prompt early measurement of paired morning ACTH and cortisol levels. Prompt glucocorticoid replacement and structured endocrine follow-up are essential for patient safety and assessment of potential HPA-axis recovery.

- Milk and infant plasma hormone concentrations predict sweet and fat taste acceptance and later food intake. [Journal Article]
- Early-life exposure to metabolic hormones may influence the development of taste acceptance and subsequent intake of hyperpalatable foods (HPF) in infants, but evidence integrating hormonal, behavioral, and dietary data in humans is limited. Therefore, our objective was to determine whether concentrations of insulin, leptin, cortisol, and liver-expressed antimicrobial peptide 2 (LEAP2) in human m…

- Investigation of the Synergistic Effect of Drug Hydrocortisone and Catechin on Wound Healing in a Surgically Excised and Burned Wound Model in Rats. [Journal Article]Curr Pharm Biotechnol. 2026 Sep 28. [Online ahead of print]CP
- CONCLUSIONS: The hydrocortisone-catechin hydrogel demonstrated superior wound-healing efficacy in both surgically excised and burn wound models by accelerating wound contraction, reducing inflammation, and improving tissue regeneration. These findings support the potential of this combination hydrogel as a promising topical therapeutic strategy for wound management and warrant further preclinical and clinical investigations.

- Effects of different dental local anesthesia techniques on salivary cortisol and secretory immunoglobulin a in pediatric patients: a randomized controlled clinical study. [Randomized Controlled Trial]Clin Oral Investig. 2026 Sep 30; 30(10).CO
- CONCLUSIONS: Taken together, the findings indicate that local anesthesia protocols are associated with different behavioural and biochemical response patterns in pediatric patients. CCLAD was associated with lower procedural SEM scores, while salivary cortisol and s-IgA responses varied across protocols. These patterns should not be interpreted as evidence that any technique definitively reduces psychological stress. Salivary s-IgA may have potential as a complementary stress-related biomarker, although further studies are needed to establish its clinical applicability.

- Adrenocortical Carcinoma with Suspected Dual Cortisol and Aldosterone Secretion: A Case Report. [Case Reports]J ASEAN Fed Endocr Soc. 2026 Aug; 41(2):124-130.JA
- Adrenocortical carcinoma (ACC) is a rare malignancy, accounting for 0.05-2% of all malignant tumors. Most cases are sporadic and asymptomatic, often discovered incidentally via imaging. However, 50-60% present with autonomous hormonal secretion, with 45% producing excess cortisol, and only 1% exhibiting mineralocorticoid excess. We report a 43-year-old Filipino female with a 6-month history of ab…

- Trajectory-based analysis of growth in congenital adrenal hyperplasia: therapeutic implications for final height preservation. [Journal Article]
- CONCLUSIONS: We observed that CAH patients tend to have compromised final height, with the SW-CAH population presenting with most compromised growth. Higher hydrocortisone doses were associated with worse outcomes. The analysis of BA and HV trajectories seems to suggest a period demanding intensified care.

- Mild autonomous cortisol secretion (MACS) is associated with increased mortality in patients with adrenal adenomas only in the presence of type 2 diabetes: a retrospective cohort study. [Journal Article]
- CONCLUSIONS: Among patients with adrenal adenomas, MACS is related to increased CVD prevalence and is associated with mortality in patients with T2D. These findings highlight the need for confirmatory prospective studies incorporating larger sample sizes to further assess the importance of earlier identification and treatment of MACS in patients with T2D.

- [What role do corticosteroids play in the treatment of community-acquired pneumonia?] [Review]Rev Mal Respir. 2026 Sep 28. [Online ahead of print]RM
- Some of the immediate, medium-term, and long-term complications of acute community-acquired pneumonia are correlated with the degree of inflammation in the initial phase, particularly when it is dysregulated. Among the treatments designed to control this inflammation, corticosteroid therapy has been the most extensively studied. Randomized trials conducted in hospitalized patients have generally …

- The cardiometabolic significance of post-dexamethasone cortisol levels below the MACS threshold in adrenal incidentaloma. [Journal Article]
- CONCLUSIONS: Post-DST cortisol levels were associated with a graded pattern of cardiometabolic risk among patients with adrenal incidentaloma. Patients with post-DST cortisol levels of 0.91-1.79 µg/dL exhibited an intermediate cardiometabolic phenotype, with significant abnormalities in several cardiometabolic parameters compared with patients with more complete cortisol suppression. These findings suggest that patients below the current MACS threshold may not represent a metabolically homogeneous or uniformly benign population and support further prospective investigation of cardiometabolic risk across the continuum of post-DST cortisol levels.
