- An Objective Uroflowmetry Curve Score and Five Descriptive Curve Groups in Men: A Single-Centre Retrospective Study. [Journal Article]Neurourol Urodyn. 2026 Nov 02. [Online ahead of print]NU
- CONCLUSIONS: The score and groups give an objective, shared description of male curve shape for research and audit. The five groups describe a continuum of curve shapes, with no clear-cut boundaries between them. They track age and PVR about as strongly as Qmax and are not a diagnostic test. Constants, a worked example and code are provided.

- Long-Term Stability of a Fixed-Dose Doxazosin and Finasteride Combination Formulation. [Journal Article]Int J Pharm Compd. 2026 Sep-Oct; 30(5):447-451.IJ
- CONCLUSIONS: Long-term stability studies indicated that the combination of doxazosin and finasteride remained stable, with 90% of the drug still present in the formulation after one year for capsules stored at 4°C and 25°C.
- Knowledge and awareness of benign prostatic hyperplasia among the general population in Makkah, Saudi Arabia: A cross-sectional study. [Journal Article]J Family Med Prim Care. 2026 Jul; 15(7):2572-2579.JF
- CONCLUSIONS: Knowledge of BPH among men in Makkah is suboptimal, with important deficiencies in clinically relevant areas. Targeted educational strategies and healthcare-based awareness programs are needed to improve early recognition and reduce preventable complications.

- Association of the serum sialic acid-to-albumin ratio with prostate cancer and bone metastasis: a retrospective cross-sectional study. [Journal Article]PeerJ. 2026; 14:e21824.P
- CONCLUSIONS: SAAR is associated with PCa and the presence of bone metastasis. Its ability to differentiate PCa from BPH is limited, but it may provide adjunctive information for identifying bone metastasis. The proposed model show s acceptable internal performance and requires external validation before clinical use.

- Urethroplasty for bulbomembranous strictures after benign prostatic hyperplasia surgery: systematic review and meta-analysis. [Review]BJU Int. 2026 Oct 31. [Online ahead of print]BI
- CONCLUSIONS: Urethroplasty for bulbomembranous strictures following BPH surgery achieves high, heterogeneously defined patency-predominantly freedom from re-intervention-with low de novo UI in experienced centres. The heterogeneous, non-comparative evidence precludes technique-specific recommendations; prospective, standardised studies are needed to refine patient selection.

- Beyond the bowel: Computed tomography (CT) Scan identification of intraperitoneal bladder perforation causing mechanical small bowel obstruction. [Case Reports]
- Intraperitoneal bladder perforation can rarely cause mechanical small-bowel obstruction. A man with benign prostatic hyperplasia and longstanding transurethral catheterisation presented with abdominal pain, distension, obstipation and vomiting. Computed tomography demonstrated small-bowel obstruction with an ileal transition point adjacent to the catheter tip traversing the bladder dome. Surgical…

- Hybrid Open and Robot-Assisted Excision of a Giant Multilocular Prostatic Cystadenoma With Unusual Dorsal Growth: A Case Report. [Journal Article]
- Large prostatic tumors are rare conditions that may present with atypical morphology on imaging studies and can pose substantial challenges in preoperative diagnosis. We encountered a case of giant multilocular prostatic cystadenoma (GMPC) with dorsal growth in which malignancy could not be excluded despite multiple biopsies demonstrating stromal hyperplasia. A 71-year-old man presented with lowe…

- Exploratory development and internal validation of sex-specific nomograms for clinically documented short-term urinary retention during post-biopsy immobilization after percutaneous renal biopsy. [Journal Article]
- CONCLUSIONS: These nomograms are hypothesis-generating models of a clinically documented care-pathway outcome. Their moderate internal discrimination does not overcome the limitations of retrospective outcome ascertainment or the low event-to-predictor ratio in the male cohort. Standardized objective outcome measurement and external validation are required before clinical use.

- Association between lateral lobe enucleation time and urethral stricture after Holmium Laser Enucleation of the Prostate (HoLEP): a retrospective cohort study. [Journal Article]
- CONCLUSIONS: Longer total lateral lobe enucleation time is independently associated with urethral stricture after HoLEP and may be related to increased instrument angulation and mechanical stress at the urethral fulcrum.

- Two-year longitudinal changes in pressure-flow study parameters and prostate morphology after prostatic urethral lift. [Journal Article]
- CONCLUSIONS: Symptomatic improvement after PUL was sustained for 2 years. Urodynamic parameters demonstrated an early reduction in voiding pressure and calculated outlet resistance, although their longer-term changes should be interpreted cautiously. Prostate morphology also changed during follow-up, with increases in prostate and transition zone volumes between 6 and 24 months.

- Burden, management and outcomes of emergency haematuria admissions: a 9-month retrospective cohort study. [Journal Article]
- CONCLUSIONS: Emergency haematuria admissions represent a high-acuity workload predominantly affecting elderly, antithrombotic-treated patients. Malignancy predicts readmission and radiation cystitis drives transfusion burden. These findings support risk-stratified admission pathways incorporating early malignancy triage and haemoglobin-guided decision-making.

- Hydrogel simulation-based training for HoLEP: technical performance, cognitive workload, and self-efficacy across residency training levels in AEEP. [Journal Article]
- CONCLUSIONS: This study provides preliminary evidence of known-groups validity by differentiating technical performance in simulation based AEEP across residency training levels. These findings support the potential role of hydrogel-based simulation in residency training to improve trainee confidence and provide structured practice of core AEEP skills.

- Comparing General Anaesthesia With Spinal Anaesthesia for Holmium Laser Enucleation of Prostate: A Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis. [Review]
- Holmium laser enucleation of the prostate (HoLEP) is an established surgical treatment for benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH). Although it is conventionally performed under general anaesthesia (GA), spinal anaesthesia (SA) may represent an important alternative for patients with significant medical comorbidity. We performed a systematic review and meta-analysis comparing peri-operative outcomes o…

- Function-preserving plasma kinetic enucleation of the prostate with bladder neck and 12 o'clock urethral mucosal preservation for large-volume benign prostatic hyperplasia: a single-center retrospective case series. [Journal Article]
- CONCLUSIONS: In this uncontrolled case series, FP-PKEP showed a favorable safety profile and achieved significant relief of bladder outlet obstruction, with promising early urinary continence and ejaculatory outcomes. The systematic preservation of the bladder neck and 12 o'clock urethral mucosa warrants further evaluation in prospective randomized controlled trials, as these preliminary findings are exploratory and hypothesis-generating.

- MOSES-assisted versus conventional holmium laser enucleation of the prostate for benign prostatic hyperplasia: a pooled study. [Systematic Review]
- CONCLUSIONS: The current evidence suggests that MoLEP may improve perioperative efficiency and reduce postoperative complications, while early functional outcomes remain broadly comparable with conventional HoLEP. Further high-quality studies with longer follow-up are needed to confirm these potential benefits.
