- Practical Clinical Consultation Guide to Radioligand Therapy in Prostate Cancer. [Journal Article]Eur Urol Focus. 2026 Aug 20. [Online ahead of print]EU
- Prostate-specific membrane antigen (PSMA)-targeted radioligand therapy (RLT) with 177-Lutetium-PSMA has significantly improved outcomes in advanced prostate cancer; however, optimising its clinical application requires a nuanced, individualised approach. This review outlines key principles for patient selection, therapeutic monitoring, and adaptive dosing strategies to maximise efficacy while lim…

- PSMA PET Imaging for Prostate Cancer Recurrence After Minimally Invasive Focal Therapy: A Single-Center Retrospective Study. [Journal Article]J Nucl Med. 2026 Aug 20. [Online ahead of print]JN
- Prostate-specific membrane antigen (PSMA)-targeted PET/CT (PSMA PET/CT) has become the first-line imaging modality used for staging and restaging prostate cancer. Its utility after minimally invasive focal therapy (high-intensity focused ultrasound, laser ablation, cryoablation) remains unclear. This study evaluated PSMA PET/CT for detecting and localizing recurrence after focal therapy. Methods:…

- The Global Theranostics Access Gap: Real-World Disparities in PSMA PET/CT and 177Lu-PSMA Therapy Between Centers in Brazil and Europe. [Journal Article]J Nucl Med. 2026 Aug 20. [Online ahead of print]JN
- Real-world disparities in access to PSMA-targeted theranostics are poorly characterized. We compared waiting times for PSMA PET/CT and 177Lu-PSMA therapy between centers in Brazil and Europe. Methods: This retrospective multicenter study included 91 patients (50 from Brazil, 41 from Europe) treated with 177Lu-PSMA. Outcomes were days from request to PSMA PET/CT completion (diagnostic access) and …

- Long-term cancer risk after metal-on-metal hip arthroplasty: a Finnish population-based study with a mean follow-up of 12.8 years. [Journal Article]BMJ Open. 2026 Aug 19; 16(8):e114178.BO
- CONCLUSIONS: MoM HA was not associated with increased overall cancer risk, even in the long term. The melanoma, basal cell carcinoma and prostate findings should be interpreted cautiously because they are increased versus the general population but not versus conventional THA. Longer follow-up periods may be needed to clarify the risks of skin and prostate cancers.

- The emerging trends in prostate cancer treatment: a systematic review of the literature. [Review]J Chemother. 2026 Aug 20; :1-16. [Online ahead of print]JC
- This Systematic review provides a comprehensive framework for understanding current therapeutic options and future directions in prostate cancer treatment. It highlights ongoing efforts, focusing on AR signaling inhibitors (ARSi) and novel molecularly targeted therapies. Using PRISMA-ScR guidelines, we conducted a comprehensive literature search across significant databases (MEDLINE/PubMed, Embas…

- Engineered mechanosensitive MSCs enable synthetic radiotheranostic targeting across tumor types. [Journal Article]Cell Stem Cell. 2026 Aug 20. [Online ahead of print]CS
- Radiopharmaceutical-based imaging and targeted radionuclide therapy are often limited by heterogeneous or absent molecular targets in tumors. Here, we present a stiffness-responsive mesenchymal stem cell (MSC)-assisted relayed tumor-targeting (SMART) platform that converts matrix stiffness into a programmable molecular entry point for radiotheranostics. Engineered MSCs sense elevated mechanical s…

- Prostate cancer disproportionately affects Sub-Saharan African men, who often present with aggressive, late-stage disease. This systematic review synthesizes contemporary evidence on the immunophenotyping and molecular patterns of prostate cancer in East Africa to inform regional screening and precision oncology strategies. Following PRISMA 2020 guidelines, a systematic search was conducted acros…

- Best evidence summary for non-pharmacological management of cancer-related fatigue in patients with prostate cancer. [Review]Geriatr Nurs. 2026 Aug 20; 73:104285. [Online ahead of print]GN
- CONCLUSIONS: The evidence on CRF non‑pharmacological management in prostate cancer patients summarized in this study can provide clinical healthcare professionals with an evidence‑based foundation. Based on this, clinicians can standardize CRF non‑pharmacological interventions to effectively reduce patients' fatigue and improve their quality of life.

- PSMA binding of carbamate-containing peptidomimetics influenced by side chain length and stereocenter configuration in preclinical prostate cancer model. [Journal Article]Bioorg Med Chem. 2026 Aug 17; 142:118779. [Online ahead of print]BM
- To explore how core backbone modifications influence prostate-specific membrane antigen (PSMA) targeting, we synthesized a series of novel peptidomimetics replacing the classic urea linkage of established radiotracers with a carbamate functionality. This panel systematically varied side chain length (aspartic vs. aminoadipic acid), stereocenter configuration (S/S vs. S/R diastereomers), and the r…

- Expression patterns of potential targets for antibody-directed therapy in metastatic castration-resistant prostate cancer patients. [Journal Article]Eur J Cancer. 2026 Aug 18; 246:116992. [Online ahead of print]EJ
- CONCLUSIONS: Although several antibody targets showed broad expression in mCRPC-tumors, expression varied by transcriptomic subtype. Subgroups such as CRPC-WNT expressed fewer targets, suggesting the need for alternative therapeutic strategies. CD46 emerged as a promising target, with wide expression across multiple subtypes, including clinically challenging CRPC-NE and mCRPC tumors lacking expression of established targets.
