    Chest. 2026 Aug; 170(2):e35-e38.Eldeiry D, Geyer A, Machnicki SChest
  • A 53-year-old Black woman was referred to the pulmonary clinic for progressively worsening exertional dyspnea over the past 3 years and a chronic nonproductive cough. • Continuous Distillation for Drug Substance Manufacturing. [Journal Article]
Pharm Res. 2026 Aug 06. [Online ahead of print]Penzer KE, Gregory DG, … Ferri JKPR
  • CONCLUSIONS: The application of continuous distillation offers a unique strategy for impurity removal during advanced pharmaceutical manufacturing and can be scaled to meet target throughputs. Here we provide general criteria necessary for successful implementation of similar continuous in-line distillation systems.
  • Association of Social Drivers of Health With Hospitalizations for Pediatric Asthma. [Journal Article]
Pediatr Pulmonol. 2026 Aug; 61(8):e71775.Hanson AE, Ennett S, Rogerson CMPP
  • CONCLUSIONS: Gender, race, language, chronic comorbidity, and preventive healthcare access are associated with emergency and repeat hospital use in pediatric asthma. Geographic context plays a meaningful role in patients' clinical disposition, but the geographic component driving this association is not meaningfully captured by any of the three SDOH indices studied.
  • Effect of Albuterol on Compliance and Distensibility of the Trachea and Lungs. [Journal Article]
    J Appl Physiol (1985). 2026 Aug 01. [Online ahead of print]Gunatilaka CC, Xiao Q, … Hysinger EBJA
  • Tracheomalacia (TM), the most common abnormality of the pediatric trachea, results in dynamic expiratory airway collapse due to weakened cartilage and reduced smooth muscle tone. Although bronchodilators such as albuterol are widely used in children with wheezing, their impact on TM remains unclear, because prior studies have not simultaneously evaluated tracheal and lung mechanics in vivo. This …
  • Vibrating Mesh Nebulizer (A-VMN) Performance During Low-Flow Nasal Oxygen Therapy in Neonates. [Journal Article]
    Pharmaceutics. 2026 Jul 16; 18(7).Burke R, Joyce M, … MacLoughlin RP
  • Background: Supplemental oxygen and aerosol therapy may be used simultaneously to treat neonates suffering from hypoxemia caused by respiratory diseases. Due to the cost and lack of availability of oxygen cylinders in some countries, oxygen concentrators are a reported substitute. We assessed whether an oxygen concentrator compared to low-flow oxygen therapy impacts neonatal aerosol drug delivery…
