- Surgical management of peripheral nerve sheath tumours: a 10-year retrospective UK study. [Journal Article]Brain Spine. 2026; 6:106171.BS
- CONCLUSIONS: PNST surgery offers reliable pain relief with a low risk of severe neurological morbidity. Sensory disturbances are common but usually mild. Patients with preoperative nerve irritability on examination may be at higher risk of postoperative sensory deficits and should be appropriately counselled.

- Unlocking n-alk-1-ynes conformers: Quantum "trigger finger" versus "stiff joint" conformations. [Journal Article]Smart Mol. 2026 May 06; :e70054. [Online ahead of print]SM
- Molecular conformation in n-alk-1-ynes (CnA) is conventionally simplified to an all-planar structure. We report a comprehensive quantum chemical analysis revealing two near-isoenergetic rotamers at the acetylenic terminus: planar ( C s ) and skewed ( C 1 ). The high, symmetric rotational energy barrier ( ≈ 150 meV) arises from unique steric relief near the s p center coupled wit…

- The potential of targeted IL-4 therapy for the comorbidity of atopic dermatitis and attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder in children via the skin-brain axis. [Journal Article]Front Allergy. 2026; 7:1887240.FA
- Although Atopic Dermatitis (AD) and Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) frequently coexist in children, the underlying mechanisms remain unclear. The "Skin-Brain Axis"(SBA) hypothesis, based on the shared ectodermal origin of the skin and the central nervous system(CNS), provides a theoretical foundation for communication between AD and ADHD. However, standardized biomarkers and direc…

- Analysis of adverse event reports associated with complementary health products in Singapore from 2017 to 2023. [Journal Article]Front Med (Lausanne). 2026; 13:1872698.FM
- CONCLUSIONS: This study examined 727 adverse event reports associated with CHPs between 2017 and 2023, accounting for 0.4% of all reported adverse events. Health supplements were the most frequently reported category, with glucosamine-containing products accounting for the highest number of adverse events, predominantly affecting the skin. Products found to contain undeclared illegal substances were most frequently indicated for pain relief, with dexamethasone, chlorpheniramine, and prednisolone being the most common adulterants found. These findings highlight the need for continued vigilance in the monitoring of CHPs to safeguard public health.

- HPV-associated moderately differentiated squamous cell carcinoma of the cervix with pathologically confirmed bladder invasion and radiologically presumed adrenal metastasis in a patient with prior lung adenocarcinoma resection: a rare case report and clinical discussion. [Case Reports]Front Oncol. 2026; 16:1874217.FO
- CONCLUSIONS: CSCC presenting with obstructive uropathy is rare and easily misdiagnosed. Gynecologic history taking and pelvic examination are imperative for female patients, and should be performed promptly, especially in the setting of adjacent organ lesions. The combination of imaging evidence of anatomical continuity and CK7+/CK20-/P63+/p16+ IHC profile has auxiliary value for differential diagnosis. Comprehensive staging including adrenal evaluation is essential. Early palliative urinary diversion may provide temporary relief in selected patients.

- Cellular Mechanism and Key Insights in Allergen Immunotherapy for Allergic Rhinitis. [Review]World J Otorhinolaryngol Head Neck Surg. 2025 Sep 08. [Online ahead of print]WJ
- Allergic rhinitis (AR) arises from immune responses mediated by immunoglobulin E (IgE) to inhaled allergens, representing one of the most prevalent chronic conditions worldwide. Although AR may not be a serious ailment, it holds clinical relevance as it underpins numerous complications, serves as a major risk factor for suboptimal asthma control, and adversely affects quality of life and producti…

- Successful Treatment of Hamstring Tendinopathy in a Nonathlete with Ultrasound-Guided Injection to the Ischial Tuberosity: A Case Report. [Case Reports]Reports (MDPI). 2026 Jun 26; 9(3).R
- Background and Clinical Significance: Proximal hamstring tendinopathy can occur not only in athletes but also in nonathletes when daily activities impose repetitive tensile or compressive loading at the ischial tuberosity. Because symptoms often resemble piriformis syndrome or lumbar pathology, diagnosis may be delayed; Case Presentation: A woman in her twenties developed buttock pain during desk…

- Efficacy of Proton Pump Inhibitor Therapy for Nocturnal GERD Symptoms and Associated Sleep Disturbances: A Systematic Review of Randomized Controlled Trials. [Journal Article]J Clin Gastroenterol. 2026 Jul 24. [Online ahead of print]JC
- CONCLUSIONS: PPI therapy was associated with improvement in nighttime heartburn and reflux-related sleep disturbances, especially in patients with reflux-driven nocturnal symptoms. The available evidence also suggests potential improvement in subjective sleep quality and sleep-related daytime functioning.

- Operationalizing rapid implementation science for responsive HIV programs. [Journal Article]Front Health Serv. 2026; 6:1860521.FH
- CONCLUSIONS: RIS should be leveraged to align scientific inquiry with the pace of real-world public health programs through building collaborative platforms, analysis-ready data infrastructure, and adopting innovative rapid study designs that can generate timely, rigorous, and decision-relevant evidence. Future efforts should expand testing of hybrid rapid methods, strengthen locally led capacity, and document trade-offs between speed and rigour.

- CONCLUSIONS: Intranasal esketamine was associated with rapid clinical improvement in depressive symptoms over 24 h. Compared with conventional PSD indices, EEG microstate metrics appeared more sensitive to early treatment-related network reconfiguration and may provide candidate short-term electrophysiological readouts of rapid treatment response.

- Comparative effects of 12-week resistance training on unstable and stable surfaces on muscle stiffness, muscle co-activation, and balance in older patients with knee osteoarthritis. [Journal Article]Gait Posture. 2026 Jul 21; 130:110287. [Online ahead of print]GP
- CONCLUSIONS: While both training modalities are effective for pain relief, URT elicited greater improvements in balance-related performance and neuromuscular-mechanical outcomes than SRT in older adults with KOA. These findings suggest that incorporating unstable support conditions into resistance training may provide additional rehabilitation benefits for this population.
