- Polysaccharide iron complex ingestions reported to a regional poison centre: a retrospective review 2011-2023. [Journal Article]Clin Toxicol (Phila). 2026 Jul 21; :1-9. [Online ahead of print]CT
- CONCLUSIONS: Polysaccharide iron complex appears to have low toxicity, suggesting that poison centres may consider modifying recommendations to reflect the lower toxicity potential for polysaccharide iron complex ingestions.

- Drugs and Lactation Database (LactMed): Iron Salts [BOOK]Drugs and Lactation Database (LactMed). National Library of Medicine (US): Bethesda (MD).BOOK
- Iron is a normal component in human milk. Daily oral iron intake from prenatal vitamins or other multimineral supplements does not affect milk iron levels. Higher daily oral iron dosing has a minimal effect on milk iron levels and is not expected to cause harm to the breastfed infant if needed to treat the mother’s anemia, but it is not an adequate substitute for direct infant iron supplementatio…
- An explanatory in vitro study on the effect of copper gluconate on ferrous gluconate absorption in a Caco-2 cell model. [Journal Article]
- OBJECTIVES: Anemia is one of the most prevalent nutritional diseases worldwide, primarily caused by iron deficiency. Poor absorption of dietary iron results from its low bioavailability and interactions with food components. In that context, dietary iron supplementation has been widely used to treat iron deficiency anemia. For many years, there has been growing interest in exploring various types…

- Balancing efficacy and safety: Inorganic and organic Fe-Ca Co-interventions reduce oral Cd bioavailability from rice and their impacts on gut health. [Journal Article]J Hazard Mater. 2026 May 15; 509:141983.JH
- Dietary iron (Fe) and calcium (Ca) intervention can reduce rice cadmium (Cd) bioavailability, however, the efficacy of various Fe-Ca combinations and impacts on gut health remain poorly understood. By exposing mice to Cd-containing rice alongside with Fe (100 mg Fe L[-][1] in drinking water) and Ca supplementation (4000 mg Ca kg[-1] in diet), we investigated the effects of different forms of Fe-C…

- Fat Apoptosis Injection Therapy for Infraorbital Herniated Fat Pads. [Journal Article]
- CONCLUSIONS: In this small case series with short-term follow-up, FA injection therapy was feasible and well tolerated and was associated with visible short-term improvement in infraorbital contour. These findings are hypothesis-generating; larger controlled studies with validated outcome instruments (eg, FACE-Q) and longer safety follow-up are required before definitive conclusions regarding efficacy, durability, and late complications can be drawn.

- Evaluation of iron supplementation effects of whey protein peptide-ferrous chelate: enhancing bioavailability and antioxidant capacity, promoting gut microbiota balance. [Journal Article]Food Chem. 2026 Apr 15; 508(Pt A):148248.FC
- To evaluate the effects of whey protein peptide-ferrous chelate (WPP-Fe) on iron deficiency anemia (IDA), this study investigated its influence on iron metabolism, oxidative stress, and gut microbiota in IDA mice. The results showed that medium-dose WPP-Fe (2.0 mg Fe/kg BW) exhibited superior efficacy compared with ferrous chloride (FeCl₂) and ferrous gluconate (Fe-gluc). WPP-Fe significantly inc…

- Oral iron preparations: gastrointestinal adverse events and medication adherence in female patients with iron deficiency anemia. [Journal Article]
- CONCLUSIONS: Gastrointestinal AEs are not a key factor affecting medication adherence. Reducing patients' medication concerns, improving the doctor-patient relationship and reinforcing counseling to avoid premature medication withdrawal due to elevated hemoglobin levels are beneficial to enhancing medication adherence in female IDA patients.

- Economic evaluation of intravenous iron formulations for patients with iron deficiency anemia: a systematic review. [Systematic Review]
- CONCLUSIONS: This review systematically evaluates the economic characteristics of the six main intravenous iron formulations for treating IDA. Current evidence suggests that the efficacy of FDI is better than IS, and the economic ranking of the four intravenous iron formulations can be summarized as FCM, ID, IS, and FG. Further research is needed to justify the economic comparison between FCM and FDI.

- Trends and Clinical Outcomes of Anemia in Women of Reproductive Age: A Retrospective Study Across India. [Journal Article]
- Background Iron deficiency anemia (IDA) is highly prevalent among women of reproductive age. Despite the wide availability of oral iron formulations, real-world evidence on prescribing practices, treatment outcomes, and patient experiences remains limited. This retrospective, questionnaire-based study evaluated clinical management strategies for anemia in women, focusing on the comparative effect…

- Contemporary Short-Term Outcomes of Liver-Directed Therapy for Neuroendocrine Tumor Liver Metastases. [Journal Article]
- CONCLUSIONS: In this contemporary cohort, mortality after liver embolization was comparable with that after liver resection. Prior liver-directed therapy and older age were associated with higher risk of major morbidity This information is important when discussing the use and choice of liver-directed therapies and counseling patients with metastatic NETs.

- This study aimed to evaluate the therapeutic effects of sex-specific iron supplementation combined with Angelica sinensis and Agrimonia pilosa on fatigue in pigeons. In Trial 1, 70 pigeons (35 males and 35 females) were randomly divided into seven groups and fed diets supplemented with 100 or 150 mg/kg of ferrous lactate, ferrous gluconate, or ferrous fumarate for 28 days.
