  • Persistent Amotivation After Cannabis-Related Psychosis: Diagnostic Challenges and Clinical Course With Electroconvulsive Therapy: A Case Report. [Case Reports]
    Neuropsychopharmacol Rep. 2026 Dec; 46(4).Kitano Y, Takada R, … Okada TNR
  • CONCLUSIONS: This case demonstrates that clinically significant amotivation may persist after cannabis-related psychotic symptoms improve. Persistently reduced motivation and inactivity should not be assumed to represent primary negative symptoms of schizophrenia; rather, clinicians should carefully consider mood symptoms and cannabis-related amotivation in the differential diagnosis. This case also suggests that ECT may represent a treatment option for severe, persistent amotivation following cannabis-related psychosis. However, because this was a single case, further validation through additional cases and long-term follow-up is required.
  • Annual Wellness Visits and New Dementia Medication Prescriptions Among US Medicare Beneficiaries. [Journal Article]
JAMA Netw Open. 2026 Oct 01; 9(10):e2640804.Milani SA, Kuo YF, … Raji MJN
  • CONCLUSIONS: In this cohort study of Medicare beneficiaries with ADRD, an increasing number of AWVs received was associated with higher rates of new dementia medication prescriptions. These findings underscore the important role that AWVs may have in increasing the prescribing of medications that help manage symptoms of ADRD and suggest AWVs are essential to support quality dementia care (eg, symptom management) and advance care planning for future living arrangements.
  • Effectiveness of amantadine and memantine in catatonia: A retrospective cohort study. [Journal Article]
    J Psychopharmacol. 2026 Oct 27; :2698811261495551. [Online ahead of print]Duque L, Lee JH, … Luccarelli JJP
  • CONCLUSIONS: This represents the largest cohort treated with amantadine or memantine for catatonia. Findings suggest significant symptom reduction, supporting their potential role as an adjunctive option. Prospective studies are needed to clarify predictors of response and comparative effectiveness.
  • [Nucleoside analogues in etiotropic therapy of hantavirus fevers]. [Review]
Vopr Virusol. 2026 Aug 31; 71(4):311-319.Vetrova AN, Kurashova SS, … Dzagurova TKVV
  • Hantavirus fevers (HF) are caused by pathogenic orthohantaviruses and are classified into two clinical forms: hemorrhagic fever with renal syndrome (HFRS), reported in Eurasia, and hantavirus pulmonary syndrome (HPS), reported in the Americas. HF are characterised by an acute course with predominant involvement of internal organs: HFRS is mainly associated with kidney damage, while HPS is charact…
  • Altered striatal acetylcholine dynamics in a model of Parkinson's disease and L-DOPA-induced dyskinesia. [Journal Article]
Neurobiol Dis. 2026 Nov; 230:107636.Gregoretti SC, Eskow Jaunarajs KL, Scarduzio MND
  • L-DOPA remains the most effective therapy for Parkinson's disease (PD), yet its chronic use often induces involuntary movements known as L-DOPA-induced dyskinesia (LID). While abnormal cholinergic interneuron (ChI) activity is a hallmark of both PD and LID, emerging evidence suggests that the temporal organization of acetylcholine (ACh) signaling, rather than its overall magnitude, may determine …
