  • Community-acquired Acinetobacter baumannii pneumonia in Southern Vietnam: A retrospective cohort study. [Journal Article]
    Medicine (Baltimore). 2026 Oct 09; 105(41):e50995.Le-Thi TH, Tran-Le QK, … Tran-Thi-Thuy TM
  • Acinetobacter baumannii has traditionally been considered a nosocomial pathogen, but cases of community-acquired A. baumannii pneumonia have increasingly been reported in tropical Asia, including Vietnam. Data on its clinical characteristics, antimicrobial resistance, and patient outcomes remain limited. This study aimed to describe the clinical profile, resistance patterns, and outcomes of commu…
  • GlpR Regulates Motility and Viscoelasticity Properties of Pseudomonas aeruginosa. [Journal Article]
    bioRxiv. 2026 Aug 10.Evans N, Grenett H, … Scoffield JAB
  • Despite the onset of highly effective modulator therapies people with Cystic Fibrosis continue to experience recurrent microbial lung infections. Many of these individuals will have at least one positive culture per year for Pseudomonas aeruginosa , a bacterium that readily adapts to chronic CF airway disease. Of these adaptations, the formation of a protective biofilm and changes in motility are…
  • Emergence of multidrug resistant Enterobacter spp. in Nigeria: a genomic study. [Journal Article]
World J Microbiol Biotechnol. 2026 Oct 07; 42(10).Adesoji AT, Mattioni Marchetti V, … Migliavacca RWJ
  • CONCLUSIONS: This study provides the first genomic insight into Enterobacter species in northwest Nigeria, highlighting their role in the spread of antimicrobial resistance. E. hormaechei subsp. xiangfangensis was identified as the main reservoir of ESBL and AmpC β-lactamases in this study. The discovery of novel STs with diverse virulence factors and plasmid replicon indicates potential horizontal gene transfer across different ecological niches. Our findings underscore the need for robust surveillance and control measures to combat the spread of MDR Enterobacter species across human, animal, and food niches.
  • Recalcitrant infectious crystalline keratopathy caused by Acanthamoeba and Fusarium coinfection. [Journal Article]
Ocul Immunol Inflamm. 2026 Oct 06; :1-5. [Online ahead of print]Chung DH, Cho YKOI
  • CONCLUSIONS: Acanthamoeba and Fusarium coinfection can cause infectious crystalline keratopathy. Treatment was difficult due to the crystalline keratopathy itself and the concurrent coinfection. To prevent recurrent progression of infectious crystalline keratopathy caused by Acanthamoeba and Fusarium coinfection, vigilant follow-up with long-term aggressive medical treatment may be necessary, even when an early clinical improvement is observed.
  • Orthogonal Stimuli-Responsive Y-Shaped DNA Probe for Dual-Antibiotic Photoelectrochemical Detection. [Journal Article]
ACS Sens. 2026 Sep 30. [Online ahead of print]Peng J, Fan X, … Song DAS
  • Simultaneously recognizing multiple targets and independently decoding their signals in food is critically demanded for safeguarding public health against antimicrobial resistance. Photoelectrochemical (PEC) sensors, promising for on-site detection, face a fundamental constraint: all targets generate unidimensional current signals at the electrode, rendering multiple target signals prone to overl…
