- Association between postoperative ketorolac use and pseudarthrosis following anterior lumbar interbody fusion: retrospective analysis of a multicenter national database. [Journal Article]J Neurosurg Spine. 2026 Aug 28; :1-8. [Online ahead of print]JN
- CONCLUSIONS: Ketorolac is a safe adjunct to pain control following ALIF. Administration was not found to be associated with increased pseudarthrosis or reoperation rates at the 2-year follow-up. There were no significant differences in acute postoperative events at 90 days postoperatively. Further studies are warranted to evaluate the effect of postoperative NSAIDs on outcomes in anterior lumbar fusion surgery.

- The impact of age and exercise training on endothelial-mediated mechanisms of vasodilation during passive leg movement in males. [Journal Article]
- Passive leg movement (PLM) offers a robust method for assessing vascular function; however, the interactions among age, endothelial-mediated vasodilatory mechanisms, and exercise training-induced PLM modulation remain poorly understood. To address these gaps, the vasodilatory responses to PLM, quantified as leg vascular conductance (LVC) dynamics, were measured in younger (n = 9, 25 ± 4 yr) and o…

- Formulation development of a biphasic release tablet-in-tablet system containing ketorolac tromethamine. [Journal Article]
- Ketorolac tromethamine (KT) is a potent nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) used for moderate to severe pain management. Its short elimination half-life necessitates frequent dosing, which can reduce patient compliance. The objective of this study was to formulate, develop, and optimize a novel biphasic-release tablet-in-tablet (TIT) system for KT to provide immediate pain relief followed…

- Impact of UGT1A9 Expression on Analgesic Efficacy and Safety of Postoperative Ketorolac in Thyroid Cancer Surgery: A Prospective Cohort Study. [Journal Article]
- CONCLUSIONS: These preliminary findings suggest that preoperative UGT1A9 expression may be associated with postoperative ketorolac analgesic response in thyroid cancer surgery. This study provides hypothesis-generating evidence for future pharmacokinetic/pharmacodynamic validation studies exploring pharmacogenomic individualization of perioperative NSAID analgesia.

- Comparative Effects of Two Periarticular Analgesic Cocktails on Pain Reduction and Inflammatory Response After Unicompartmental Knee Arthroplasty. [Journal Article]J Vis Exp. 2026 Jun 12; (232).JV
- Unicompartmental knee arthroplasty (UKA) serves as the primary surgical treatment for isolated unicompartmental knee osteoarthritis. Clinical data of 108 patients who underwent UKA at Yueyang People's Hospital from January 2020 to December 2024 were retrospectively screened. After strict case exclusion, 102 patients were categorized into Group A (ropivacaine combined with morphine and compound be…

- Ketorolac Administration During Admission Is Not Associated With Nonunion Following Treatment of Pediatric Femoral Shaft Fractures. [Journal Article]J Pediatr Orthop. 2026 May 07. [Online ahead of print]JP
- CONCLUSIONS: This comparative case series demonstrates that nonunion in operatively treated pediatric femoral fractures is rare regardless of ketorolac administration. In addition, ketorolac use appears to be associated with reduced opioid requirements without increasing pain scores.

- Comparison of the Analgesic Effect of Ketamine and Midazolam with Paracetamol (Acetaminophen) and Ketorolac in Renal Colic Patients: A Clinical Trail : Comparison of the Ketamine and Midazolam with Paracetamol and Ketorolac. [Journal Article]
- CONCLUSIONS: The combination of Ketamine and Midazolam was more effective than Acetaminophen and Ketorolac in relieving the pain in renal colic. Therefore, if routine medications are contraindicated, a combination of Ketamine and Midazolam is recommended for pain control in patients with renal colic.

- Effect of transcutaneous electrical acupoint stimulation at Zusanli (ST36) on postoperative pain following mixed hemorrhoidectomy: a retrospective study. [Journal Article]
- CONCLUSIONS: Auxiliary TEAS at ST36 can safely and effectively enhance the analgesic effect of NSAIDs following hemorrhoidectomy and promote rehabilitation outcomes. Serum Cor, CRP, and IL-6, with dynamic changes in patients, are potential reference indexes for curative effect monitoring.

- Ketorolac-induced peptic ulcer bleeding after cholecystectomy in a "healed" ulcer patient: A CARE case report. [Case Reports]
- CONCLUSIONS: This case supports a potential causal relationship between the use of ketorolac tromethamine injection and the occurrence of peptic ulcer with bleeding, especially in patients with clinically cured gastric ulcer: a risk often overlooked in drug selection. Particular emphasis should be placed on individualized medication, risk assessment, and multidisciplinary collaboration to enhance patient safety and treatment efficacy.

- Indications and Adverse Events of Toradol: Based on FDA Adverse Event Reporting System (FAERS). [Journal Article]Pain Res Manag. 2026; 2026(1):e8822463.PR
- CONCLUSIONS: Our findings, derived from hypothesis-generating signal detection analyses, provide real-world safety data on Toradol, highlighting high-risk AEs and reporting biases. Enhanced vigilance and monitoring, especially in high-risk populations, are imperative. However, these signals require confirmation through prospective, controlled studies to establish causality.

- Ketorolac tromethamine-loaded hydrogel-forming microneedles for pediatric pain relief. [Journal Article]J Pharm Sci. 2026 Jun; 115(6):104276.JP
- Pain is particularly intolerable for children, and the analgesic regimen must be carefully managed, as systemic delivery may lead to serious side effects to growth and development of children. Therefore, the research and development of pain-relieving formulations and administration routes specifically tailored for children are both meaningful and essential to enhance treatment compliance. In this…

- Fifteen-day topical ketorolac tromethamine, with and without benzalkonium chloride, alters tear function, goblet cell density, and meibomian gland integrity in healthy cats. [Journal Article]Vet World. 2026 Jan; 19(1):310-323.VW
- CONCLUSIONS: Both ketorolac formulations reduced STT, TFBT, and GCD, supporting the development of a qualitative dry eye state in healthy cats. BACKT resulted in greater ocular discomfort, increased MG loss, and higher lipid peroxidation, indicating BAC-related cytotoxicity. Caution is advised when prescribing prolonged topical ketorolac, and concurrent ocular lubrication is recommended.
