- Design, synthesis of a novel ginsenoside derivative and its protection against acetaminophen induced liver injury via suppressing HIF1α-mediated glycolytic metabolism. [Journal Article]Front Pharmacol. 2026; 17:1942215.FP
- CONCLUSIONS: OCLA pretreatment confers protective effects against APAP-induced liver injury primarily by inhibiting HIF1α-associated dysregulation of glycolysis-related molecular signatures and inflammatory responses, showing promising preventive potential for drug-induced liver injury.

- Development of a relative molar sensitivity-based HPLC method for quantifying acetaminophen, two beta-lactams, amiodarone, and its metabolite. [Journal Article]J Pharm Health Care Sci. 2026 Aug 03; 12(1).JP
- CONCLUSIONS: The validated RMS-based HPLC method provides accurate and precise quantification of structurally diverse drugs using stable, the International System of Units (SI)-traceable, non-analyte reference materials. This approach eliminates the need for analyte-specific authentic standards for routine analyses, thus substantially reducing procurement costs and addressing the instability of some analytes. The rapid and accurate analysis enables timely reporting, potentially leading to improved clinical outcomes through expedited in-house TDM implementation in hospital laboratories with limited resources.

- TECR palmitoylation triggers a necrotic cell death program driving acute liver injury. [Journal Article]Cell. 2026 Nov 02. [Online ahead of print]Cell
- Acute liver injury caused by drug toxicity or immune activation remains a major clinical challenge with limited mechanistic understanding and few effective therapies. Here, we identify a previously unrecognized form of regulated cell death driven by palmitoylation of the endoplasmic reticulum (ER)-resident enzyme trans-2,3-enoyl-coenzyme A (CoA) reductase (TECR). We show that multi-site palmitoyl…

- Periodic Bupivacaine Delivery Through Catheter at Iliac Bone Graft Donor Site: Safely Reducing Donor Site Morbidity. [Journal Article]J Craniofac Surg. 2026 Nov 02. [Online ahead of print]JC
- Iliac bone grafting is used for autologous reconstruction of bone defects. Donor site pain can be greater than any morbidity related to iliac crest bone graft harvesting, and it is a significant factor in delaying early recovery and rehabilitation. Single-shot or postoperative continuous infusion of local anesthetics through catheters has been described in the literature. We aimed to demonstrate …

- Effects of Concomitant Medications on Clinical and Immunological Outcomes of Cancer Patients Treated With Oncolytic Adenoviruses. [Journal Article]Int J Cancer. 2026 Nov 02. [Online ahead of print]IJ
- Medication taken for other reasons than for the treatment of malignant disease, termed concomitant medication, is known to affect outcomes when used with immune checkpoint inhibitor therapy and other oncological drugs. However, no research in humans has addressed the relationship between concomitant medications and efficacy of oncolytic adenovirus (OAd) therapy. We retrospectively collected medic…

- Drug prescribing patterns among burn patients in a tertiary care teaching hospital in Assam, India: A prospective observational study. [Journal Article]Indian J Pharmacol. 2026 Nov 01; 58(6):738-743.IJ
- CONCLUSIONS: The study demonstrates extensive use of multiple drugs in burn management, with a predominance of empirical antibiotics. Strengthening antimicrobial stewardship and promoting rational prescribing habits are essential to optimize patient outcomes and reduce antimicrobial resistance.

[Randomized Controlled Trial]Indian J Pharmacol. 2026 Nov 01; 58(6):626-633.IJ
- CONCLUSIONS: In patients undergoing TLH, a combination of dexamethasone, PCM, and ketorolac reduced 24-h opioid use, improved pain scores, and minimized immediate postoperative nausea and vomiting.

- Mechanistic Insights into Drug Release from PLGA- and PLA-Based Implants. [Journal Article]Mol Pharm. 2026 Nov 02; 23(11):5352-5366.MP
- Biodegradable polymer implants offer long-acting drug delivery, yet the roles of polymer chemistry and drug properties in governing release remain incompletely understood. We hypothesized that polymer viscosity and end-group chemistry regulate water uptake, glass-transition, and chain mobility, thereby controlling implant dissolution and drug release. To test this, drug-loaded implants were fabri…

- Jing Si Herbal Tea Aqueous Extract Modulates G-CSF-Induced Hematopoietic Stem and Progenitor Cells Mobilization and Mitigates Associated Pain in a Murine Model. [Journal Article]Cell Biochem Funct. 2026 Nov; 44(11).CB
- Granulocyte colony-stimulating factor (G-CSF) is widely used for stem cell mobilization but is associated with side effects such as pain, which often discourages healthy donors. Jing Si Herbal Tea (JSHT), a novel Chinese herbal formula comprising eight different Chinese herbal medicines, has been shown to exert pleiotropic effects against several disorders. The present study primarily explored th…

- Van Neck-Odelberg Disease in a Pediatric Patient With Prolonged Groin Pain: A Case Report. [Journal Article]
- Van Neck-Odelberg disease is a benign disorder of the ischiopubic synchondrosis (IPS) that can be mistaken for infection, fracture, or bone tumor. A boy aged 10 years and 7 months presented with a 1-year history of exertional groin pain and intermittent limping. The pain was bilateral but consistently worse on the right and was aggravated by football and running. He was afebrile. Examination show…

- Characterization of acetaminophen biodegradation performance and genomic features of Labrys sp. XQ-1. [Journal Article]
- Acetaminophen (N-acetyl-p-aminophenol, APAP) is a widely used pharmaceutical and an emerging micropollutant of ecological concern in aquatic environments. However, the taxonomic diversity of APAP-degrading bacteria remains poorly understood. An APAP-degrading strain, Labrys sp. XQ-1, was obtained from municipal wastewater and was capable of utilizing APAP as the sole added carbon and energy sourc…

- Continuous crystallization of pharmaceutical compounds in mixed suspension mixed product removal systems. [Journal Article]
- CONCLUSIONS: At matched active volume and overall residence time, staged supersaturation generation suppressed fines, improved particle uniformity and morphology, and reduced fouling and filtration time without compromising chemical or solid-state quality. These results identify controlled supersaturation distribution, not additional crystallizer capacity, as the principal benefit of two-stage MSMPR operation for the two APIs studied.

- CONCLUSIONS: Intestinal GPR128 deficiency protects against AILI through a gut-liver axis involving goblet cell-associated A. muciniphila, microbial β-galactosidase, dietary GA, and the HSP90α-CBFβ/RUNX1-UPP1 pathway. These findings identify this cascade as a potential therapeutic target for APAP-induced liver injury.
