  • Occupation History, Job Strain, and Lower Urinary Tract Symptoms Among Men. [Journal Article]
Neurourol Urodyn. 2026 Aug 25. [Online ahead of print]Brady SS, Arguedas A, … Markland ADNU
  • CONCLUSIONS: Among this population-based sample of United States men, assessed aspects of occupations across early and midlife adulthood were not associated with men's LUTS at midlife. This is in contrast to some population-based research on occupations among Chinese and Korean men. Additional research is needed to understand whether specific occupations and work characteristics are associated with men's LUTS.
  • Urate-lowering therapy modifies associations between urinary urate and kidney outcome. [Journal Article]
    Ren Fail. 2026 Dec; 48(1):2700810.Takata T, Mae Y, … Isomoto HRF
  • Serum uric acid is associated with chronic kidney disease (CKD) progression; however, causality remains uncertain. Although renal urate handling, rather than merely hyperuricemia, may dominate kidney outcomes, the prognostic value of urinary urate indices and the potential modifying effect of urate-lowering therapy (ULT) remain unclear.
  • Prenatal Organophosphate Exposure and Autism-Related Traits in Children. [Journal Article]
JAMA Pediatr. 2026 Aug 24. [Online ahead of print]Cavalier HM, Volk HE, … ECHO Cohort ConsortiumJP
  • CONCLUSIONS: In this large, prospective cohort study among the ECHO cohort, prenatal OP exposure was not associated with autism-related traits in childhood. Given the known adverse impacts of pesticides in other contexts, further research should consider interactions with other factors, genetic susceptibility, higher exposures, or combined chemical mixtures.

APMIS. 2026 Aug; 134(8):e70252.Thiele IM, Søgaard KK, … Nielsen HLA
  • Population-based data on Serratia bacteraemia are limited. We conducted a population-based cohort study of patients with a first-time episode of Serratia bacteraemia in the North Denmark Region between 1 January 2010 and 30 June 2024 (catchment population ~590,000). Clinical and microbiological data were obtained from medical records and the regional microbiological database. A total of 188 patie…
