  • Sexual dysfunction in peritoneal dialysis: associated factors and exploratory machine-learning classification. [Journal Article]
Int Urol Nephrol. 2026 Sep 15. [Online ahead of print]Deng L, Zhao D, … Luo JIU
  • CONCLUSIONS: Sexual dysfunction was common among respondents receiving peritoneal dialysis. In men, higher depression scores and lower 24-h urine volume were associated with male erectile function scores, whereas in women associations were weaker and primarily socioeconomic. The models and SHAP-derived feature rankings should therefore be considered exploratory and require prospective external validation before clinical use.
  • Unconsummated marriage: etiology and treatment of erectile dysfunction in newlywed men-a narrative review with a focus on China. [Review]
    Transl Androl Urol. 2026 Aug 31; 15(8):302.Li S, Wang H, … Li CTA
  • CONCLUSIONS: Newlywed sexual dysfunction is not merely a physiological deficit; rather, it represents a dynamic process arising from the interaction of sociocultural, psychological, and physiological factors, with psychological distress playing a central role that perpetuates a vicious cycle of performance anxiety and erectile failure. Consequently, a comprehensive and individualized treatment strategy-involving both partners and integrating psychoeducation, cognitive-behavioral intervention, enhancement of marital intimacy, and physiological therapy-is essential to restore sexual function and promote marital harmony. This review provides a theoretical and practical clinical framework for the effective management of newlywed sexual dysfunction across diverse cultural contexts.
  • Sleep disorders and male sexual dysfunction: a meta-analysis of hormonal and erectile outcomes. [Journal Article]
Arch Ital Urol Androl. 2026 Sep 07; :15659. [Online ahead of print]Almurayyi M, Alshahrani ST, … Safar OAI
  • CONCLUSIONS: Both OSA and SWSD impair sexual and hormonal function, but OSA causes greater erectile and endocrine disruption. Even mild OSA was associated with reduced erectile performance, with the severity worsening dysfunction. Despite consistent trends, high heterogeneity warrants cautious interpretation. Future research should employ standardized tools and uniform populations to clarify mechanisms linking sleep disorders to male sexual health.
  • Treatment strategies for functional hypogonadism in obese men: a systematic review and network meta-analysis. [Systematic Review]
    J Sex Med. 2026 Aug 05; 23(9).Yang L, He X, … Feng QJS
  • CONCLUSIONS: Available treatments showed distinct outcome-specific effects, but no single strategy was consistently superior across all outcomes. Confidence in many comparisons was low or very low, and the included trials differed in participant characteristics, treatment protocols, and follow-up duration. These findings should inform individualized treatment decisions rather than a definitive treatment ranking, and require confirmation in longer-term head-to-head trials.
  • YouTube as a Reliable Source of Patient Education for Peyronie's Disease: A Quality Assessment Study. [Journal Article]
    Cureus. 2026 Aug; 18(8):e114066.Saad M, Abuelhassan A, … Mohammed AC
  • CONCLUSIONS: YouTube videos regarding PD provide generally acceptable but inconsistent educational value and reliability. While many videos effectively address patient concerns, important deficiencies remain in treatment-related information, transparency, and evidence-based content. Patients should be encouraged to critically evaluate online information, and clinicians should guide individuals toward reliable educational resources. Further development of transparent, comprehensive, and patient-centered digital resources is required to improve online education for men with PD.
