- Pharmacokinetics and Target Attainment of Antimicrobial Drugs Throughout Pregnancy. Part II: Cephalosporins. [Systematic Review]
- CONCLUSIONS: During pregnancy, an increase in Vd and CL was observed, indicating a potential need for higher or additional dosages, or shorter dosing intervals to achieve target attainment. However, evidence-based dosing adjustments were identified for only seven cephalosporins. These findings highlight significant gaps in knowledge and underscore the need for further research to characterize PK profiles and establish dosing recommendations for the remaining cephalosporins in pregnant women.

- Prevention of infection in peripheral arterial reconstruction of the lower limb. [Systematic Review]
- CONCLUSIONS: Prophylactic antibiotics may reduce SSIs in peripheral arterial reconstruction of the lower limb with low-certainty evidence. We found no superiority among specific antibiotics or differences in extended use (over 24 hours) compared with shorter use (up to 24 hours), with low-certainty evidence. Closed incision negative pressure therapy may lower the SSI risk, but this is based on very low-certainty evidence. For other interventions, very low- to moderate-certainty evidence showed little or no significant differences across various outcomes. We advise caution when interpreting these conclusions due to the limited number of events in all groups and comparisons.

- Oral versus intravenous antibiotic prophylaxis before obstetric and gynecological surgical interventions: A randomized clinical trial. [Retracted Publication]
- CONCLUSIONS: The current study showed that oral antibiotic prophylaxis before obstetric and gynecological interventions seems to be safe, easy, practical, cheap, and as effective as parenteral antibiotic prophylaxis in the prevention of SSI. However, more randomized trials with larger sample sizes are needed to pave the way for replacing parenteral with oral antibiotic chemoprophylaxis.
