  • When Cryptogenic Is Not Cryptogenic: Carotid Web as a Cause of Recurrent Embolic Stroke. [Case Reports]
    Cureus. 2026 Aug; 18(8):e115138.Tawfeeq A, Hamza NC
  • A carotid web is an under-recognized vascular abnormality increasingly identified as a cause of embolic ischemic stroke in younger patients without conventional vascular risk factors. Delayed diagnosis may lead to recurrent cerebrovascular events despite otherwise unrevealing investigations.  We report the case of a 35-year-old woman who experienced three ischemic strokes over a three-year period…
  • TAVI-TEC: an AI-based tool for procedural planning of transcatheter aortic valve implantation. [Journal Article]
Cardiovasc Interv Ther. 2026 Sep 24. [Online ahead of print]Zerillo A, Cannata S, … Gandolfo CCI
  • Computed tomography angiography (CTA) is crucial for preprocedural TAVI planning, providing the anatomical information required for prosthesis sizing and vascular access assessment. As the volume of TAVI procedure increases, improving efficiency and standardizing annotations is becoming essential in clinical practice. This study presents TAVI-TEC, a fully automated artificial intelligence-based f…
  • Infection prevention: neonatal European vascular access team - ESPR recommendation 8. [Journal Article]
Pediatr Res. 2026 Sep 24. [Online ahead of print]van Delft B, Romitti MG, … Pediatric and Neonatal Vascular Access SIG of the ESPR and NEVATPR
  • Strategies to prevent infection are key in safe neonatal vascular access. This recommendation outlines infection prevention strategies throughout the vascular access lifecycle, from insertion through maintenance to discontinuation. It incorporates international guidance and NICU-specific adaptations to reduce microbial burden. This recommendation incorporates international expert guidance and NIC…
  • Local Referral of Peripheral Arterial Disease Patients to Improve Surgical Outcomes. [Journal Article]
Ann Vasc Surg. 2026 Sep 24. [Online ahead of print]Kazi S, Lun Z, Smith MEAV
  • CONCLUSIONS: Although a majority of PVIs are performed by cardiology and radiology, most occur with close geographic proximity to a practicing vascular surgeon. For the subset of patients most likely to benefit from open surgical bypass, these findings suggest that transitioning care from non-surgical interventionalists to vascular surgeons would impose minimal additional travel burden in most regions of the United States.
  • [Fédération France Macula Practical Guidelines for the Use of Anti-VEGF Biosimilars]. [Practice Guideline]
    J Fr Ophtalmol. 2026 Sep 24; 49(9):104981. [Online ahead of print]El Ghazi D, Srour M, … Souied EJF
  • CONCLUSIONS: Anti-VEGF biosimilars are expected to play an increasingly important role in retinal care by expanding treatment accessibility and contributing to healthcare sustainability. Their successful implementation requires a thorough understanding of regulatory requirements, careful patient selection, and continued post-marketing surveillance. These recommendations provide a practical framework for the integration of biosimilars into contemporary retinal practice.
