- The effects of lutein, zeaxanthin and anthocyanins supplementation on visual function and vision protection in healthy school-aged children: a single-center prospective randomized controlled study. [Journal Article]J Clin Biochem Nutr. 2026 Jul 01; 79(1):52-59.JC
- Dietary carotenoids (lutein and zeaxanthin) and anthocyanins show retinal protective potential, yet their clinical efficacy in healthy children's developing visual systems remains unclear. We aimed to investigate whether lutein, zeaxanthin, and anthocyanin (LA) supplementation enhances visual function and vision protection in healthy school-aged children (6-10 years). Sixty-four participants were…

- PSEUDOMYOPIA IN YOUNG ADULTS, A REPORT OF THREE CASES FROM A SINGLE TERTIARY FACILITY IN IBADAN, NIGERIA. [Journal Article]Ann Ib Postgrad Med. 2026 Apr 30; 24(1):146-150.AI
- Pseudomyopia is a myopic shift in the refractive power of the eye due to overstimulation of the mechanism of accommodation. It is most common among children and may occur in all types of refractive errors, especially in hyperopia. The usual symptoms of pseudomyopia include asthenopia, intermittent blurry vision and sometimes diplopia. The management starts with recognition, which involves a high …

- Association of a novel meibomian gland dysfunction composite score with corneal nerve parameters and ocular surface symptoms in dry eye disease. [Journal Article]Front Med (Lausanne). 2026; 13:1877511.FM
- CONCLUSIONS: The MGD composite score effectively reflects disease severity. Corneal nerve length is strongly associated with the relationship between MGD signs and subjective symptoms, providing a structural basis for understanding symptom-sign discordance in DED.

- Computer vision syndrome and ergonomic risk factors among administrative workers in public health care facilities: a cross-sectional occupational study. [Journal Article]
- CONCLUSIONS: CVS was common among administrative workers in public health care facilities in the east coast state of Malaysia. Modifiable ergonomic factors, especially incorrect screen positioning, greatly raised the risk. These results emphasize the importance of workplace ergonomic interventions and regular visual health checks to reduce digital eye strain and enhance occupational health in settings with extensive computer use.

- Myopic Shift Following Clear Lens Extraction in a Patient With Plateau Iris Syndrome Reversed by Synechiolysis: A Case Report. [Case Reports]Cureus. 2026 Jun; 18(6):e110886.C
- This case report describes a rare mechanical etiology of postoperative refractive surprise - anterior displacement of an intraocular lens (IOL) secondary to localized posterior synechiae - in a patient with plateau iris syndrome (PIS) following combined clear lens extraction (CLE) and minimally invasive glaucoma surgery (MIGS). A 29-year-old man with PIS and medically refractory chronic angle-clo…

- StatPearls: Aniseikonia [BOOK]StatPearls. StatPearls Publishing: Treasure Island (FL).BOOK
- The word aniseikonia derives from the Greek words "an," "is," and "eikon," which mean "not," "equal," and "image," respectively. Aniseikonia occurs when there is a difference in an image's perceived size or shape and is often caused by anisometropia, which is a difference in refractive error. When aniseikonia is caused by anisometropia, it is called optical aniseikonia. Aniseikonia can also be ca…
- Effects of digital screen property modification on symptoms of digital eye strain. [Randomized Controlled Trial]Digit J Ophthalmol. 2025; 31(3):62-67.DJ
- CONCLUSIONS: In our study cohort, digital screen color temperature modulating software was associated with a high level of usability but was not associated with a reduction in digital eye strain symptom severity.

- Efficacy of a virtual multimodal exercise program on postural awareness and digital eye strain in university students: a pilot study. [Journal Article]Rev Assoc Med Bras (1992). 2026; 72(3):e20251229.RA
- CONCLUSIONS: This preliminary single-group study suggests that virtual multimodal exercise programs may be effective, accessible preventive strategies for reducing musculoskeletal symptoms, enhancing posture awareness, and alleviating visual fatigue among individuals with high daily screen exposure. Controlled trials with larger and more diverse populations are recommended to establish causal effectiveness.

- StatPearls: Spectacle Correction of Ametropias [BOOK]StatPearls. StatPearls Publishing: Treasure Island (FL).BOOK
- Ametropia refers to any refractive condition that results in the image of the object in view, which does not allow for a properly focused image on the retina. As such, hyperopia, myopia, and astigmatism are all considered in these abnormal refractive disorders.[1] Hyperopia refers to a condition in which the refractive power of the eye is less than expected, causing objects in view to come to a f…
- Impact of tablet's correlated color temperature on ocular and visual function in myopic children: a pilot study. [Journal Article]Front Med (Lausanne). 2026; 13:1804663.FM
- CONCLUSIONS: The 30-min tablet usage task decreased tear film stability and exacerbated some asthenopia symptoms but did not significantly affect other visual functions, regardless of the screen's CCT setting. The use of a high-CCT (8500 K) tablet induced a slightly, but significantly, higher initial NITM compared to a low-CCT (2800 K) tablet; however, given the small magnitude of this difference, its clinical relevance still needs to be confirmed.
