- [[177]Lu]Lu-PSMA-617 in patients with PSMA-positive metastatic androgen pathway modulator-naive/sensitive prostate cancer (PSMAddition): a phase 3 randomised, controlled trial. [Journal Article]Lancet. 2026 Aug 06. [Online ahead of print]Lct
- CONCLUSIONS: Combining [177]Lu-PSMA-617 with ADT plus ARPI prolonged radiographic progression-free survival in patients with PSMA-positive metastatic APMN/S prostate cancer. Although adverse events were more frequent, there were no unexpected safety findings associated with the drug combination. Therefore, combining [177]Lu-PSMA-617 with ADT plus ARPI might be a new treatment option in metastatic APMN/S prostate cancer.

- Ocular features and accommodative components in patients with spontaneous consecutive exotropia. [Journal Article]Taiwan J Ophthalmol. 2026 Apr-Jun; 16(2):332-337.TJ
- CONCLUSIONS: Binocular vision deficiency was observed in patients with SCXT. The AC/A ratios were higher in the control group. The mean period of spontaneous conversion to exotropia was 6.40 ± 3.50 years after hyperopia correction; therefore, the long-term follow-up is needed.

- Effects of orthokeratology on binocular vision and myopia control in adolescents. [Journal Article]
- This study aimed to compare the efficacy of myopia control in adolescents wearing orthokeratology lenses (OKL) or single-vision spectacles (SVS). This prospective study included 30 myopic adolescents wearing orthokeratology lenses (OKL group) and 30 wearing SVS (SVS group). To prevent pseudo-replication arising from the strong correlation between fellow eyes, only right-eye data were analyzed, ex…

- Ocular Alignment and Strabismus-Related Findings Associated with Low-Dose Atropine for Myopia Control in Children: A Structured Narrative Review. [Review]
- Background/Objectives: Low-dose atropine eye drops are widely used to slow myopia progression in children, but by reducing accommodation they may affect near ocular alignment and binocular visual function. Evidence on ocular alignment and strabismus-related findings remains insufficiently synthesized. This review examined low-dose atropine for pediatric myopia control in relation to ocular alignm…

- Thicker polyethylene inserts for varus deformity versus thinner inserts for flexion contracture in total knee arthroplasty: a retrospective comparative study. [Journal Article]J Orthop Traumatol. 2026 Jun 25. [Online ahead of print]JO
- CONCLUSIONS: Preoperative HKA angle and FC were identified as significant predictors of PE insert thickness in TKA. Specifically, greater varus deformity resulted in a thicker PE insert, whereas more severe FC led to a thinner insert. Clinically, surgeons must anticipate gap expansion after medial release in varus knees, while accommodating the tight extension space in the FC. Level of evidence Level III, retrospective comparative study.

- ObjectiveTo delineate a clinically actionable phenotype of consecutive esotropia with V-pattern following surgery for intermittent exotropia and to determine whether the initial surgical approach-bilateral lateral rectus recession versus unilateral recession-resection-is associated with differential patterns of V-pattern presentation and accommodative convergence/accommodation behavior among pati…

- Optimising POU3F4 variant interpretation through gene-specific evidence in X-linked hearing loss. [Journal Article]EBioMedicine. 2026 Jun; 128:106318.E
- CONCLUSIONS: POU3F4 pathogenicity is defined by a highly specific cochlear signature and profound topological constraint. Quantitative calibration of these features substantially refines diagnostic resolution in POU3F4-mediated hearing loss. The convergence of genomic modelling and functional validation establishes a calibrated evidentiary framework for consistent variant classification.

- Diagnostic Criteria for Convergence Excess: Diagnostic Validity of Clinical Signs Associated with Near Esophoria. [Journal Article]J Eye Mov Res. 2026 May 14; 19(3).JE
- To propose which tests may be used for diagnosing convergence excess. A prospective study of a consecutive clinical sample was performed. Patients (18-35 years) attending optometric care underwent subjective refraction, cover test, and Symptom Questionnaire for Visual Dysfunctions (SQVD). Based on cover test and SQVD scores, two groups were recruited: 64 symptomatic subjects with near esophoria a…

- Cardiopulmonary Interactions in Combined Septic Shock and ARDS: An Integrative Framework for Phenotyping and Hemodynamic Optimization. [Review]Compr Physiol. 2026 Jun; 16(3):e70176.CP
- The syndromic convergence of septic shock and acute respiratory distress syndrome represents a critical nexus of pathophysiological complexity, marked by profoundly elevated mortality and governed by multifaceted, temporally dynamic cardiorespiratory interactions. Conventional hemodynamic management paradigms frequently fail to achieve optimal outcomes, owing to their insufficient accommodation o…

- StatPearls: Accommodative Insufficiency [BOOK]StatPearls. StatPearls Publishing: Treasure Island (FL).BOOK
- As an optical system, the eyes function in line with the basic principles of refraction. Visual clarity depends on the ability to bring incident light rays to a point focus at the fovea centralis. Schematically, the cornea and crystalline lens provide the requisite total dioptric power (about +60 diopters; the cornea makes up about + 40 to + 48 diopters). Accommodation is the adaptative faculty t…
- Accommodative esotropia associated with low-dose atropine for myopia control: a case report with longitudinal AC/A ratio. [Case Reports]
- Low-dose atropine (LDA) is effective for slowing myopia progression and preventing its onset in children. It is generally considered safe. The main adverse effects are mild photophobia and blurred vision at near secondary to accommodative dysfunction. Esotropia is a rare adverse event that can occur in temporal association with LDA. We report a pediatric case of near-esotropia that emerged after …

- Normative Data for Non-Strabismic Binocular Vision Parameters in a Nepalese Young Adults. [Journal Article]Clin Ophthalmol. 2026; 20:584486.CO
- CONCLUSIONS: This study provides the first large-scale normative clinical dataset of NSBV parameters in Nepalese young adults. Age significantly influences accommodative parameters, whereas gender-related differences are minimal. These population-specific normative values may support the screening, accurate diagnosis, and management of NSBVA and provide a contemporary reference for clinicians and researchers working with South Asian populations.
