- CONCLUSIONS: This case broadens the phenotypic spectrum of IIH, showing that facial and vestibulocochlear neuropathies are reversible with pressure reduction. Yet, progressive visual field loss may ensue despite stable papilledema, revealing the optic disc as an unreliable proxy for neuronal integrity. Only spectral-domain OCT-by quantifying inner retinal layer loss-can expose silent axonal degeneration and must therefore become the cornerstone of long-term monitoring, independent of clinical appearance.

- CONCLUSIONS: PTCS should be suspected in overweight or obese children and adolescents presenting with persistent headache or visual symptoms, regardless of pubertal status. Early diagnosis, weight control and regular ophthalmologic monitoring are essential to reduce the risk of permanent visual impairment. Long-term follow-up is necessary, as relapses may occur beyond the first year after diagnosis. Prospective studies are warranted to confirm these findings.

- CONCLUSIONS: While intensified decongestive strategies in patients hospitalized for ADHF improve diuresis, natriuresis, and reduce LOS, no benefit was observed for post-discharge clinical outcomes. Although a potential reduction in in-hospital mortality was observed, this finding should be considered exploratory and hypothesis-generating.

- CONCLUSIONS: P23 Pde6brd10 mice with limited rod atrophy had biomarker values suggestive of dysregulation of RPE fluid/ion transport but with stable rod mitochondrial configuration following ACZ. DA 2-month-old male WT mice biomarkers were responsive to ACZ in a manner similar to those in light-adapted 2-month-old male WT mice; the difference in biomarker response pattern in female WT mice suggests a possible hormonal influence.

- Idiopathic intracranial hypertension and pregnancy: outcomes in previously shunted women. [Journal Article]
- CONCLUSIONS: The complexity of IIH during pregnancy requires a multidisciplinary approach in order to achieve an optimal outcome. In our cohort of previously shunted IIH patients with programmable valves and gravitational units, neither the occurrence of a pregnancy nor a vaginal delivery increased the risk for disease recurrence or deterioration. In severe cases, VP shunting remains a treatment option during pregnancy when clinically indicated.
