- Marginal and internal adaptation of monolithic computer-aided design and computer-aided manufacturing zirconia crowns and heat-pressed ceramic veneered zirconia crowns: An in vitro study. [Journal Article]J Indian Prosthodont Soc. 2026 Oct 01; 26(4):397-404.JI
- CONCLUSIONS: Both fabrication workflows produced zirconia crowns with marginal and internal adaptations within clinically acceptable limits. Monolithic CAD/CAM zirconia crowns showed slightly smaller internal discrepancies than heat-pressed ceramic-veneered zirconia crowns; however, the magnitude of this difference is unlikely to affect clinical seating or cementation.

- Intratumoral therapeutic dust for chemo-photodynamic combination treatment. [Journal Article]
- Implantable wireless ultrasound microdevices for intratumoral therapy are hindered by inadequate miniaturization for deep-seated sites and toxic lead-based piezoelectrics. Here, we report an injectable, lead-free, submillimeter therapeutic dust (TheraDust; 1.0 millimeters by 1.0 millimeters by 0.9 millimeters) for ultrasound-driven wireless chemo-photodynamic combined therapy. The core of the dev…

- Close-Proximity Vision-Guided Control and Performance Evaluation of a Mobile Robot for Sit-to-Stand Assistance. [Journal Article]IEEE Trans Neural Syst Rehabil Eng. 2026; 34:4099-4109.IT
- A safe sit-to-stand (STS) transfer is an essential daily movement, but it can be difficult for older adults with reduced strength, balance, or coordination. Cost-effective STS assistance is therefore important for supporting independence. This paper presents a close-range, single RGB-D-camera solution for estimating pelvis motion and controlling a compact STS-assistive rollator. The robot provide…

- Upright positioning in pediatric radiotherapy: rationale, safety considerations and a research roadmap. [Journal Article]Tech Innov Patient Support Radiat Oncol. 2026 Dec; 40:100432.TI
- Upright positioning is re-emerging as a potential strategy to improve the pediatric radiotherapy experience, particularly for selected children in whom distress, limited cooperation, or repeated general anesthesia represent major barriers to treatment. This practice development report, produced by the Upright Radiotherapy Pediatric Task Group - an international, multiprofessional group bringing t…

- Sensing Platform Technologies of the Transient Electromagnetic Method for Urban Underground Space Detection: Challenges and Advances. [Review]Sensors (Basel). 2026 Aug 23; 26(17).S
- As urban underground spaces and infrastructure development accelerate, subsurface elements such as buried pipelines, integrated utility tunnels, subway tunnels, cavity defects, and deep-seated hidden hazards become increasingly intertwined. Consequently, urban target detection is characterized by pronounced scale discrepancies, intense environmental interference, and severely confined operational…

- Experimental evaluation of a dual-band phased-array system for focused microwave thermotherapy. [Journal Article]Biomed Eng Lett. 2026 Jul; 16(4):1073-1080.BE
- This study presents an experimentally validated dual-band focused microwave thermotherapy (FMT) system capable of operating at both 100 MHz and 434 MHz within a single phased-array platform. The proposed system features a dual-band applicator array designed to support resonant operation at widely separated frequencies, thereby enabling the treatment of tumors varying in depth and size without the…

- Adaptation of the clinical limits of use tool (CLOUT): Clinical and environmental testing of off-road mobility devices: A case study. [Journal Article]
- This study presents a case-based application of the Clinical Limits of Use Tool (CLOUT), specifically its clinical device testing component, to evaluate an off-road mobility device, the Invacare Top End Force CC handcycle. This component of CLOUT was operationalized into measurable variables and standardized test procedures through collaboration among therapists, engineers, and advisory expert us…

- Design, control, and computational validation of a mechanically decoupled 3-DOF ankle rehabilitation device. [Journal Article]
- This paper presents the design methodology, kinematic analysis, finite element structural validation, and closed-loop computational simulation of a novel 3-degree-of-freedom (3-DOF) ankle-foot rehabilitation exoskeleton. The proposed exoskeleton addresses the simultaneous rehabilitation of dorsiflexion/plantarflexion (DF/PF), abduction/adduction (AB/AD), and inversion/eversion (INV/EV) in a seate…

- Frugal innovation in adaptive seating for a child with cerebral palsy (Gross Motor Function Classification System Level V) in a resource-limited setting: a case report. [Journal Article]BMC Pediatr. 2026 Jul 15. [Online ahead of print]BPed
- CONCLUSIONS: A commercially available car seat, systematically modified using low-cost repurposed materials through a structured, physiotherapy-guided fitting process, achieved improved postural alignment as measured by PPAS in a child with GMFCS Level V CP. This case provides proof-of-concept that structured, physiotherapy-led modification of commercially available car seats can achieve significant postural correction in children with GMFCS Level V cerebral palsy in low-resource settings.

- Marginal and internal fit of 3D printed permanent crowns: effect of CAD/CAM software, preparation type and resin material. [Journal Article]
- CONCLUSIONS: Preparation design was the primary determinant of fit in 3D-printed resin crowns. While marginal and axial adaptation were clinically acceptable, occlusal internal discrepancies remain a critical limitation. Optimization of digital design parameters and preparation geometry is essential to improve the clinical performance of additively manufactured restorations.

- Limb composition: implications for the determination of arterial occlusion pressure. [Journal Article]Front Physiol. 2026; 17:1707774.FP
- CONCLUSIONS: These findings indicate that lower-limb composition, especially lean and fat mass, is associated with AOP in a position-dependent manner, suggesting that tissue characteristics may be considered when estimating occlusion pressure using indirect methods.

- Accuracy of conventional impression versus direct digital scanning for CAD-CAM post-and-core restorations in dual-post molars: A combined clinical and in vitro study. [Journal Article]J Dent. 2026 Dec; 175:106827.JD
- CONCLUSIONS: In dual-post molars, PVS impressions without impression posts and direct Primescan scanning provide the most reliable acquisition accuracy. Routine use of impression posts may introduce removal-induced distortion and should be applied selectively. Conventional impressions and direct digital workflows are affected by distinct mechanical and optical limitations, respectively.

- Staphylococcus aureus strains sustain their high-virulent phenotype during native endocarditis. [Journal Article]Clin Microbiol Infect. 2026 May 09. [Online ahead of print]CM
- CONCLUSIONS: Our in vitro analysis of endocarditis isolates indicates that S. aureus largely maintains a highly virulent phenotype during native valve endocarditis, potentially contributing to the marked tissue destruction characteristic of this infection. Continuous exposure to the intravascular environment and its immune pressures may constrain phenotypic adaptation, thereby sustaining bacterial metabolic activity and virulence.
