- Evaluation of peripheral and intranigral AAV-mediated Irisin delivery in a chronic AAV-A53T α-Synuclein overexpression mouse model of Parkinson's disease. [Journal Article]Front Aging Neurosci. 2026; 18:1918326.FA
- CONCLUSIONS: These findings suggest that, under the current experimental conditions, a clear neuroprotective benefit of Irisin was not readily detectable in this model. Whether modest effects might emerge under different exposure levels, intervention windows, or adequately powered designs remains unknown.

- Development and psychometric validation of a health literacy competency scale for nurses, and its application in a cross-sectional survey: a methodological study. [Journal Article]Front Public Health. 2026; 14:1978033.FP
- CONCLUSIONS: The HLC-N demonstrated robust psychometric properties and may serve as a reliable tool for assessing HLC among nurses in China. Targeted training and health promotion for nurses could enhance their HLC. Future research should explore additional predictors and validate the scale across diverse nursing populations.

- Sanguinarine ameliorates rheumatoid arthritis by activating the Hippo-YAP/TAZ pathway to induce apoptosis and suppress inflammation in fibroblast-like synoviocytes. [Journal Article]Front Pharmacol. 2026; 17:1887163.FP
- Rheumatoid arthritis (RA) is a chronic autoimmune disease with progressive joint damage, functional disability and systemic comorbidity. Available therapies are not satisfactory, including low rates of remission and about 30% of patients with poor response to first-line treatment. Thus, more effective therapeutic strategies are urgently needed. Sanguinarine, a benzophenanthridine alkaloid primari…

- TGF-β1 Induced Methylation to Regulate SOCS3 Expression in Abnormal Activation of Vocal Fold Fibroblasts. [Journal Article]World J Otorhinolaryngol Head Neck Surg. 2026 Oct 11. [Online ahead of print]WJ
- CONCLUSIONS: TGF-β1 is proposed to promote abnormal activation of VFFs, which may be associated with DNA methylation-mediated regulation of SOCS3. Specifically, TGF-β1 may downregulate SOCS3 expression via DNMT1-mediated promoter DNA methylation, and this process is speculated to participate in abnormal VFFs activation by relieving the inhibitory effect of SOCS3 on the JAK2/STAT3 signaling pathway.

- A smart MMP-9-responsive hydrogel releasing quercetin for psoriasis therapy. [Journal Article]Front Pharmacol. 2026; 17:1810299.FP
- Psoriasis is an autoimmune disease characterized primarily by chronic inflammation, with suboptimal clinical therapeutic outcomes. Quercetin, a bio-safe plant secondary metabolite, exerts anti-inflammatory effects by modulating multiple signaling pathways and holds promise as a therapeutic candidate for psoriasis.

- Catecholamine-Secreting Retroperitoneal Paraganglioma: A Case Report and Literature Review. [Journal Article]Case Rep Urol. 2026; 2026:2760597.CR
- CONCLUSIONS: This case highlights the diagnostic and surgical challenges of a functioning perihilar retroperitoneal paraganglioma. Careful endocrine preparation, vascular planning, multidisciplinary management, and lifelong surveillance are essential, particularly when the surgical margin is microscopically involved.

- Metabolite profiling and molecular dynamics-based in silico evaluation of methanolic leaf extracts of Stevia rebaudiana Bertoni against α-amylase and DPP-IV. [Journal Article]Front Plant Sci. 2026; 17:1859134.FP
- Stevia rebaudiana Bertoni is a natural sweetener with reported antidiabetic properties; however, the molecular basis underlying the interactions of its major phytochemicals with key glycaemic-regulating enzymes remains insufficiently understood. The present study employed an integrated in silico workflow to evaluate the antidiabetic potential of selected steviol-derived phytochemicals against hum…

- Intratumoral microbiota-host gene associations characterize stage-associated microecological patterns in colorectal cancer. [Journal Article]Front Microbiol. 2026; 17:1934580.FM
- Intratumoral microbiota are emerging as important ecological components of the colorectal cancer (CRC) microenvironment. However, their stage-associated patterns and coordination with host gene expression remain poorly understood. This study aimed to characterize stage-associated associations between intratumoral microbiota and the host transcriptome in CRC.

- Electrophysiological signature of stroke recovery: investigating EEG biomarkers for prognostic insights. [Journal Article]Front Stroke. 2026; 5:1894659.FS
- Stroke is a leading cause of long-term disability, often resulting in persistent motor impairments that reflect disruptions in large-scale brain networks. An integrated framework capturing spatiotemporal EEG dynamics would help clarify how these networks change during recovery.

- CD98hc marks a precursor of human stem cell-derived alpha cells primed for functional maturation. [Journal Article]Front Endocrinol (Lausanne). 2026; 17:1923474.FE
- Pluripotent stem cell-derived alpha cells (SC-α cells) represent a promising component of next-generation cell therapies designed to more fully recapitulate human islet function; however, heterogeneity and the presence of undesired side populations limit their functional maturity and therapeutic potential. Here, we identify the cell surface protein CD98hc (SLC3A2), that when highly expressed in p…
