- Chinese Mobile Health Apps for Preventing and Managing Pelvic Floor Dysfunction: Quality Assessment and Content Analysis. [Journal Article]J Med Internet Res. 2026 Jun 24; 28:e80126.JM
- CONCLUSIONS: The apps for PFD revealed acceptable quality, and the majority provided exercise, personal information recording, and health education functions. However, many apps lacked comprehensive functionalities and did not provide immediate feedback or high-quality educational information. Health care providers should follow international guidelines to create high-quality, evidence-based, multifunctional apps for PFD. Future studies should explore the effects of the apps and real-world user feedback data in clinical settings.

- Pelvic inlet morphology and fracture risk in sacral fragility fractures: A case-control CT study. [Journal Article]
- CONCLUSIONS: Pelvic inlet morphology is significantly associated with SFF incidence, with platypelloid shapes demonstrating a protective association. A strong trend suggests anthropoid inlets may predispose to complex H‑type configurations. Incorporating inlet typing into imaging‑based risk assessment may improve identification of elderly patients at risk of SFF.

- Radiographic Study of L5-S1 Transforaminal Endoscopic Access in a Sample from the Brazilian Population. [Journal Article]Rev Bras Ortop (Sao Paulo). 2024 Dec; 59(6):e847-e853.RB
- Objective This study evaluated lumbar spine radiographs using the Choi and Patgaonkar classifications to verify parameters potentially influencing the L5-S1 transforaminal approach. Materials and Methods We studied 167 lumbosacral spine radiographs from patients over 18 years old with no history of surgeries, tumors, fractures, or scoliosis to measure the iliac crest height and rim angle. We cate…

- Relationship of female pelvic floor muscle function and body composition: cross-sectional study. [Journal Article]
- CONCLUSIONS: The accumulation of "total", "pelvic", "android", and "visceral" fat mass is correlated with reduction in PFM strength, and there is an association between MVC and the variables of total and segmented fat. However, pelvic fat concentration is predictive in 89.9% of cases.

- Effects of using a mobile application on pelvic floor training in women with stress urinary incontinence: A randomized controlled clinical study. [Randomized Controlled Trial]
- CONCLUSIONS: It was concluded that PFMT, with the use of a mobile app, is capable of reducing UI and the impact of UI, but it is not superior to training with the use of booklet instructions.

- Evaluation of the effect of pelvis type in percutaneous acetabular column fixation: a computed tomography study. [Journal Article]Acta Orthop Belg. 2023 Jun; 89(2):333-339.AO
- This study aimed to evaluate the effect of pelvis type in percutaneous acetabular column fixation. What is the effect of pelvis type in percutaneous acetabular colon fixation? The available pelvic computed tomography (CT) scans which were obtained in the diagnostic imaging center with a 1 mm slice width were evaluated. The pelvic type was classified with the help of MPR (Multiplanar Reformat) and…

- Is percutaneous fixation of the superior pubic ramus possible in all types of pelvis? [Journal Article]
- CONCLUSIONS: The pelvic type is a determinat factor for the fixation of the percutaneous superior pubic ramus. For this reason, pelvic typing using MPR and 3D imaging mode in preoperative CT examination; is effective in surgical planning, implant, and surgical position selection.

- A survey of pelvic types on computed tomography images. [Journal Article]
- CONCLUSIONS: Gynecoid pelvic type was present in more than half of our subjects. Although this type is considered ideal for labor, we have not established that it has a great influence on whether the labor will be performed naturally or by cesarean section, neither that it significantly affects the length of birth. The gross narrowing of the pelvic ring is present in non-gynecoid pelvic types. The data obtained will certainly be useful to the obstetrician when planning the labor and considering all the factors that may affect the course of birth.

- The psoas major muscle is essential for bipedal walking - An analysis using a novel upright bipedal-walking android model. [Journal Article]
- Bipedalism is a unique function in humans. Various investigations in bipedal walking have assessed the kinetic chain from the pelvis to the lower limbs. However, few studies have investigated the functions of the upper body including the psoas major muscles. In the present study, a bipedal-walking human full-body skeletal model, "the bipedal android model", was generated by attaching air cylinder…

- Comparison of Decision Tree and Long Short-Term Memory Approaches for Automated Foot Strike Detection in Lower Extremity Amputee Populations. [Journal Article]
- Foot strike detection is important when evaluating a person's gait characteristics. Accelerometer and gyroscope signals from smartphones have been used to train artificial intelligence (AI) models for automated foot strike detection in able-bodied and elderly populations. However, there is limited research on foot strike detection in lower limb amputees, who have a more variable and asymmetric ga…

- Fall risk classification for people with lower extremity amputations using random forests and smartphone sensor features from a 6-minute walk test. [Journal Article]
- Fall-risk classification is a challenging but necessary task to enable the recommendation of preventative programs for individuals identified at risk for falling. Existing research has primarily focused on older adults, with no predictive fall-risk models for lower limb amputees, despite their greater likelihood of fall-risk than older adults. In this study, 89 amputees with varying degrees of lo…

- Influence of pelvic shape on strain patterns: A computational analysis using finite element mesh morphing techniques. [Journal Article]
- The pelvis functions to transmit upper body loads to the lower limbs and is critical in human locomotion. Semi-automated, finite element (FE) morphing techniques eliminate the need for segmentation and have shown to accelerate the generation of multiple specimen-specific pelvic FE models to enable the study of pelvic mechanical behaviour. The purpose of this research was to produce simulated huma…

- Rating of Pelvic Floor Muscle Training Mobile Applications for Treatment of Urinary Incontinence in Women. [Systematic Review]
- CONCLUSIONS: There are both free and paid apps available on-line that deliver pelvic floor muscle therapy programs. Evaluation using the MARS tool identified that many apps are not of high quality, and only 1 was evidence-based and has been trialed clinically. This knowledge is relevant to the choice of apps by both patients and caregivers.
