- Trends in HIV/AIDS Knowledge and Self-Testing Preferences Among College Students: A Five-Year Repeated Cross-Sectional Survey in Shenzhen, China. [Journal Article]AIDS Res Hum Retroviruses. 2026 Aug 20; :8892229261479805. [Online ahead of print]AR
- Despite over 40 years having passed since the discovery of human immunodeficiency virus (HIV)/acquired immunodeficiency syndrome (AIDS), neither a cure nor a prophylactic vaccine is yet clinically available. Promoting preventive measures and raising awareness remain critical to controlling the epidemic, especially among key populations such as college students and men who have sex with men (MSM),…

- Co-designing opioid stewardship guidelines for cancer pain management in Nepal: study protocol. [Journal Article]Pain Manag. 2026 Aug 18; :1-11. [Online ahead of print]PM
- Cancer pain remains inadequately managed in low-resource settings such as Nepal, where regulatory barriers, stigma, limited opioid availability, and insufficient clinical training hinder effective treatment. Although opioids are essential for moderate to severe cancer pain, concerns regarding misuse and weak system-level governance restrict rational access, contributing to avoidable suffering and…

- Testing the Confluence Model of Sexual Aggression: Evidence from a Sample of Argentinian Men. [Journal Article]J Child Sex Abus. 2026 Jul; 35(5):664-687.JC
- Sexual aggression (SA) is a major public health concern with serious consequences for victims and significant costs for society. The majority of acts are committed by men from the general population who are rarely prosecuted. The Confluence Model (CM) is one of the most empirically supported frameworks for explaining SA, primarily tested in samples from the United States of America. However, its …

- Asymptomatic kidney changes discovered during occupational health screening: age-dependent trends from a large cohort. [Journal Article]Clin Kidney J. 2026 Aug; 19(8):sfag123.CK
- CONCLUSIONS: Even in a predominantly healthy working population, one in 20 young adults demonstrated asymptomatic kidney alterations identifiable only through uACR screening. These findings underscore the importance of integrating both uACR and eGFR testing into occupational and preventive health programs to detect mild CKD in all age groups and promote kidney health preservation from early adulthood.

- Skin Impacts and Tradeoffs of GLP-1 Therapy: Improved Patient-Reported Outcomes of Inflammatory Skin Disease in the Era of "Ozempic Face". [Journal Article]
- CONCLUSIONS: This large analysis of patient-reported outcomes suggests that greater weight loss, which often occurred with GLP-1RA treatment regimens versus other weight management therapies, was associated with higher reports of negative aesthetic impacts, most notably skin laxity, facial volume loss, and hair shedding, although with improvement in preexisting inflammatory and hormonally driven dermatological conditions. This calls for further studies to determine the potential mechanisms and incidence behind patient-reported outcomes associated with significant weight loss on GLP-1RA medications.

- CONCLUSIONS: qHBsAg testing is not uniformly implemented across Spanish clinical microbiology laboratories and workflows and reporting practices are heterogeneous. Given the descriptive design and potential selection bias, these results should be interpreted as a baseline assessment to inform harmonization efforts and future evaluations linking testing availability to clinical decision-making.
