- Effectiveness of Virtual Reality Versus Exercise-Based Interventions in the Management of Chronic Spinal Pain: A Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis. [Systematic Review]Physiother Res Int. 2026 Oct; 31(4):e70354.PR
- CONCLUSIONS: Although VR may offer statistical advantages over exercise-based interventions for pain and kinesiophobia, the overall certainty of the evidence remains very low. The non-attainment of the MCID thresholds, coupled with high risk of bias and substantial statistical heterogeneity, underscores the need for strict caution.

- A longitudinal analysis of the clinical practice of ketamine assisted psychotherapy with adolescents and young adults. [Journal Article]Front Psychiatry. 2026; 17:1886833.FP
- Ketamine Assisted Psychotherapy (KAP) is a developing modality with broad impact on humans suffering with a variety of emotional and relationship difficulties that encompass many diagnostic entities. Our application of KAP has extended to and included the treatment of adolescents and young adults in a family therapy format. Given the increasing scope and complexity of the adolescent mental health…

- Diet quality in pediatric migraine and the educational quality of related short-form videos: a cross-sectional study and content analysis. [Journal Article]Front Nutr. 2026; 13:1934926.FN
- CONCLUSIONS: Higher overall diet quality was associated with lower migraine burden and caregiver burden in children with migraine. These findings support the relevance of overall dietary assessment, while prospective studies are needed to clarify temporal and causal relationships. Short-form videos are an important source of dietary and lifestyle information for caregivers, but their reliability, actionability, and follow-up content require improvement.

- Psychosomatic symptom profiles and associated factors of clinically significant anxiety symptoms among breast cancer patients receiving chemotherapy: a multicenter cross-sectional study in China. [Journal Article]Front Oncol. 2026; 16:1858680.FO
- CONCLUSIONS: Observational findings from this study identify several characteristics associated with clinically significant anxiety among breast cancer patients receiving chemotherapy: younger age, low psychological resilience, poor KPS performance status, advanced clinical stage, and longer cumulative chemotherapy cycles. Difficulty initiating sleep, fatigue, and nausea show correlations with anxiety symptoms in this patient population. These findings highlight that physical symptom assessment and psychological screening should not be separated during clinical care for breast cancer patients undergoing chemotherapy, and provide observational evidence for developing integrated supportive care strategies in real-world oncology practice.

- Hypothalamic subregional volume in relation to VSS-C total symptom burden in women with migraine: an exploratory cross-sectional MRI study. [Journal Article]Front Neurol. 2026; 17:1931533.FN
- CONCLUSIONS: Higher VSS-C total symptom burden was associated with larger anterior-superior hypothalamic volume in women with migraine. This result identifies a subregional target for prospective replication with component-level symptom assessment and formal vestibular phenotyping.

- Depressive symptom severity and treatment outcome in posttraumatic stress disorder following childhood trauma: A secondary analysis of a randomized clinical trial. [Journal Article]J Trauma Stress. 2026 Oct 06. [Online ahead of print]JT
- Depressive symptoms are frequently comorbid with posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD), yet it remains unclear whether depressive symptom severity before the start of treatment affects the results of trauma-focused psychotherapy. We hypothesized that baseline depressive symptom severity might reduce overall PTSD symptom improvement and could differentially affect treatment response to imagery resc…

- Dissociable EEG microstate signatures of cognitive and response inhibition deficits in obsessive-compulsive disorder patients. [Journal Article]Psychol Med. 2026 Oct 06; 56:e175.PM
- CONCLUSIONS: These findings reveal dissociable microstate mechanisms associated with distinct inhibitory dysfunction domains in OCD patients. Resting-state microstate dynamics may represent candidate neurobiological markers for cognitive subtype classification in OCD and may help inform the development of targeted therapeutic interventions.

- Sex-Dependent Alterations in Behavioral Development of Mice Lacking α5-Nicotinic Acetylcholine Receptors. [Journal Article]J Neurosci Res. 2026 Oct; 104(10):e70156.JN
- Complex neurodevelopmental disorders such as autism spectrum disorders (ASD) and schizophrenia are characterized by impaired social interactions, cognitive deficits, and repetitive behaviors. Genome-wide association studies (GWAS) have identified the α5 nicotinic acetylcholine receptor (α5-nAChR) subunit as a significant risk factor for these neuropsychiatric conditions. The α5 subunit is a criti…

- Adverse childhood experiences (ACEs) are a significant determinant of health across the life course and exhibit a dose-dependent relationship with the risk of mental and physical disorders in adulthood. One common yet under-recognized ACE is growing up in a family with an alcohol problem. The objective of this study was to review current data on the neurobiological mechanisms and clinical consequ…

- Wechsler Intelligence Scale for Children-Revised Profiles in Children with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder: Impact of Comorbid Autistic Traits. [Journal Article]Eurasian J Med. 2026 Sep 25; 58(4):1-5.EJ
- CONCLUSIONS: The significant difference observed exclusively in the Block Design subtest suggests that comorbid autistic traits in children with ADHD may specifically impair visual-spatial and motor-integrated skills. Future studies incorporating objective motor assessments are warranted to further elucidate these cognitive relationships. Cite this article as: Kılıç B, Ünal D. - CONCLUSIONS: Medicare's risk-based payment model underpredicts costs for beneficiaries with depression or anxiety, potentially creating incentives to avoid providing care or coverage. To ensure appropriate reimbursement, Medicare should adequately adjust risk for depression and anxiety.
