  • Efficacy and tolerability of targeted lipoprotein(a)-lowering therapies: A systematic review. [Review]
J Clin Lipidol. 2026 Aug 26. [Online ahead of print]Alebna PL, Campbell MK, … Mehta AJC
  • CONCLUSIONS: Emerging Lp(a)-targeted therapies achieve significant reductions in circulating Lp(a) concentrations and represent a promising strategy for addressing residual cardiovascular risk associated with elevated Lp(a). Ongoing large-scale cardiovascular outcome trials will determine whether pharmacologic lowering of Lp(a) translates into reductions in cardiovascular events.
  • Pyelolymphatic backflow demonstrated on computed tomography urography in acute ureteric obstruction. [Case Reports]
BMJ Case Rep. 2026 Oct 06; 19(10).Jain RJ, Jasuja AK, Dhangar SBC
  • A man in his early 40s presented with acute right flank pain, vomiting and dysuria. Ultrasonography demonstrated an obstructing right upper ureteric calculus with a contralateral renal calculus. CT urography revealed fine, serpiginous contrast-opacified tubular channels extending from the right renal pelvis into the retroperitoneum without evidence of urinoma. Delayed excretory phase imaging demo…
  • Clinical Messages for Fenestrated Endovascular Aortic Repair from the GLOBALSTAR Registry: Outcomes in Salvage Fenestrated Endovascular Aneurysm Repair, Women, and Octogenarians. [Journal Article]
Eur J Vasc Endovasc Surg. 2026 Oct 06. [Online ahead of print]Guéroult AM, Holt PJ, … British Society of Endovascular Therapy and GLOBALSTAR CollaboratorsEJ
  • CONCLUSIONS: This study generated the following hypotheses: higher rates of re-intervention and graft related endoleak for salvage FEVAR may justify a FEVAR first strategy in appropriate cases, to achieve durable repair. Significantly worse peri-operative outcomes for women require further evaluation and may require changes in pre-operative pathways and case selection. Advanced age alone may not be a strong contraindication to FEVAR and effective case selection may yield acceptable outcomes for octogenarians. This study is limited by its retrospective design but is valuable in terms of its large real world cohort with extended follow up. The results highlight the need for dedicated prospective studies for the three subgroups, to elucidate mechanistic determinants.
