- Primary Aortic Wall Myxoma Presenting With Recurrent Systemic Embolization: A Hybrid Surgical Management Strategy. [Case Reports]JACC Case Rep. 2026 Sep 01; :110013. [Online ahead of print]JC
- CONCLUSIONS: Histopathology confirmed an aortic wall myxoma. The case illustrates the limitations of imaging and an individualized hybrid strategy for suspected multifocal aortic involvement.Recurrent embolization after embolectomy should prompt urgent proximal-source control. Hybrid repair may be considered when anatomy and clinical urgency support it.

- Acute type B aortic dissection after ruptured thoracoabdominal aortic aneurysm repair resulting in thoracoabdominal branch endoprosthesis collapse and malperfusion. [Case Reports]J Vasc Surg Cases Innov Tech. 2026 Dec; 12(6):102486.JV
- We report the case of a patient who developed an acute Stanford type B aortic dissection 4 days after thoracoabdominal branch endoprosthesis repair for a ruptured thoracoabdominal aortic aneurysm. The dissection caused complete endograft collapse and profound malperfusion. Emergent salvage endovascular repair successfully re-expanded the graft; however, the patient ultimately died because of the …

- Bilateral internal iliac preservation using a short-tip distal branched custom-made device during fenestrated or branched aortic repair. [Journal Article]J Vasc Surg Cases Innov Tech. 2026 Dec; 12(6):102485.JV
- Short common iliac artery anatomy may preclude iliac branch device use during fenestrated or branched aortic repair. We describe two patients treated with a low-profile, short-tip distal branched custom-made device based on an aortouni-iliac configuration and combined with fenestrated or branched repair. The device incorporated iliac side branches to preserve bilateral internal iliac artery perfu…

- Complex management of extensive perivisceral aortic thrombus and associated chronic kidney disease in a 70-year-old woman. [Case Reports]J Vasc Surg Cases Innov Tech. 2026 Dec; 12(6):102461.JV
- Severe perivisceral aortic thrombus is a rare cause of embolic organ dysfunction with limited treatment guidance. We report a 70-year-old woman with progressive renal failure due to extensive perivisceral and renal artery thrombus. Given high embolic risk, endovascular therapy was deferred, and open aortic endarterectomy was performed. Persistent renal artery compromise necessitated intraoperativ…

- Case Report: Primary malignant melanoma of the uterine cervix with early recurrence following radical surgery and immunotherapy. [Case Reports]Front Oncol. 2026; 16:1970684.FO
- CONCLUSIONS: This case highlights the aggressive and unpredictable course of PMMC, with early histologically confirmed recurrence following radical surgery and postoperative immune checkpoint inhibition. The rapid progression observed in our patient, considered alongside the heterogeneous responses to PD-1 blockade reported in the literature, underscores the therapeutic uncertainty surrounding this rare malignancy and the need for improved predictors of treatment response.

- TNALP associated calcium phosphate microdeposition contributes to thoracic aortic dissection susceptibility. [Journal Article]Commun Biol. 2026 Sep 21; 9(1).CB
- Aortic dissection is a life-threatening cardiovascular emergency characterized by rapid progression and high mortality. Although medial degeneration is a key pathological feature of aortic dissection, the mechanisms that drive aortic wall instability remain incompletely understood. Aortic calcification is a pathological mineralization process that can alter vascular structure and function, but it…

- CONCLUSIONS: Thrombin generation was insufficiently suppressed by either anticoagulation protocol. Exacerbation of preoperative consumptive coagulopathy highlights the insufficiency of current anticoagulation strategies in acute aortic dissection.

- Accurate identification of aortic dissection (AD) in emergencies is clinically critical. Non-contrast CT (NC-CT), the standard emergency imaging for chest pain, has limited AD diagnostic sensitivity. We developed an anatomy prior-driven multimodal contrastive learning framework, extracting discriminative features from contrast-enhanced CT (CE-CT) and radiological reports to enhance NC-CT-based AD…

- Readiness for Hospital Discharge and Quality of Life Among Patients Undergoing Surgery for Type A Aortic Dissection: A Prospective Observational Cohort Study. [Journal Article]
- CONCLUSIONS: Patients undergoing surgery for type A aortic dissection have low readiness for hospital discharge, which is associated with quality of discharge teaching, social support, health literacy, and educational level. Greater readiness was associated with better quality of life at 30 and 90 days post-discharge.

- Iatrogenic Crescentic Hematoma of the Right Sinus of Valsalva: A Diagnostic Pitfall Mimicking Aortic Root Dissection. [Case Reports]JACC Case Rep. 2026 Oct 03; :110570. [Online ahead of print]JC
- CONCLUSIONS: The 2 lesions share similar imaging manifestations, which frequently leads to misdiagnosis. This case summarizes characteristic differential imaging signs and supports conservative treatment, helping clinicians avoid inappropriate emergency cardiac procedures.Multimodal imaging can distinguish this rare hematoma from aortic dissection; conservative therapy is safe for hemodynamically stable patients.

- Flow diversion versus conventional endovascular treatment for ruptured basilar artery dissecting aneurysms: a single-center cohort study. [Journal Article]
- CONCLUSIONS: Primary FD-based reconstruction was feasible in selected ruptured BADA, particularly in anatomically complex or fusiform lesions. Given the small sample, non-randomized treatment selection, and absence of statistically significant between-group differences, these findings support individualized treatment and do not establish superiority of either strategy.

- Duodenal Obstruction and Grade III Acute Cholangitis Following Pancreaticoduodenal Artery Aneurysm Rupture During Conservative Management of Acute Type B Aortic Dissection: A Case Report. [Case Reports]
- Aneurysms of the pancreaticoduodenal arcade are uncommon visceral artery aneurysms that are strongly associated with stenosis or occlusion of the celiac axis and that may rupture irrespective of size. Rupture produces a peripancreatic or retroperitoneal hematoma, and duodenal stenosis is a recognized sequela; biliary complications have rarely been reported. An 84-year-old man admitted with an acu…

- Recurrent Type A Aortic Dissection and New Entry after Endovascular Repair. [Case Reports]
- Thoracic endovascular aortic repair (TEVAR) for acute type B aortic dissection can be complicated by retrograde type A aortic dissection (RTAD) and stent graft-induced new entry (SINE). A 77-year-old man developed acute type A aortic dissection after TEVAR and subsequently experienced recurrent RTAD and 3 episodes of distal SINE despite multiple surgical and endovascular interventions, eventually…

- What Is the Proper Extent of Lymph Node Dissection During a Radical Cystectomy for Bladder Cancer? [Review]Urol Clin North Am. 2026 Nov; 53(4):561-569.UC
- Radical cystectomy with pelvic lymph node dissection remains the standard of care for muscle-invasive and high-risk nonmuscle-invasive bladder cancer. Lymphatic mapping studies demonstrate that primary drainage traverses the true pelvis, with most metastatic nodes located below the aortic bifurcation. Two randomized trials failed to show a survival benefit from extended dissection, though both we…
