- Self-Expanding Supra-Annular Transcatheter Valve for Pure Native Aortic Insufficiency: Rationale and Technique. [Case Reports]
- CONCLUSIONS: The Navitor transcatheter aortic valve offers an innovative approach for high-surgical-risk pure native AI. While the procedural success depends on patient selection, careful sizing, and mitigation of anatomic and technical limitations, the Navitor transcatheter aortic valve can be a reasonable bridge therapy until dedicated transcatheter valves for severe AI are commercially approved and widely available.

- From stent to stability: Conservative management of post-stenting aortic dissection in coarctation of the aorta. [Case Reports]
- Coarctation of the aorta (CoA) is characterized by congenital narrowing of the aortic isthmus. Primary treatment modalities include balloon dilatation, stenting, and surgical repair. Here, we present the case of a 37-year-old male with refractory hypertension who underwent successful stenting of a severe postductal CoA, achieving complete resolution of the trans-coarctation gradient. Twenty-four …

- Sequential Flow-Based Assessment of a Suspected Inferior Pancreaticoduodenal Artery-Derived Pathway Entering the Right Hepatic Artery during Pancreaticoduodenectomy: A Case Report. [Case Reports]
- CONCLUSIONS: An anatomically identifiable CHA does not necessarily guarantee secure hepatic arterial inflow during PD. When the GDA and ASPDA are absent and an IPDA-derived pathway is markedly developed, functional assessment should be considered before irreversible arterial division.

- Idiopathic Midaortic Syndrome: An Unusual Case of Acute Kidney Injury (AKI) in Secondary Hypertension With Renal Collaterals in an Adult. [Case Reports]
- Midaortic syndrome (MAS) is a rare vascular disorder characterized by segmental narrowing of the distal thoracic or abdominal aorta, accounting for only 0.5-2% of aortic coarctations. Adult-onset idiopathic MAS is particularly uncommon and typically presents with refractory secondary hypertension, whereas dialysis-dependent acute kidney injury (AKI) is an exceptionally rare manifestation. A 44-ye…

- Emergent Total Endovascular Repair Using Retrograde in Situ Branched Stent Grafting for Ruptured Retrograde Aortic Dissection. [Case Reports]
- An 85-year-old bedridden woman (modified Rankin Scale 5) presented with a contained rupture of an acute retrograde aortic dissection (Type B0,7). Because open surgery was prohibitive due to severe frailty, an emergent total endovascular repair was performed using single-branch, retrograde in situ branched stent grafting (RIBS). Two conformable GORE TAG devices established a Zone 1 seal, and the l…

- Computed Tomography-Based Periaortic Adipose Tissue Imaging Phenotypes in Type B Aortic Dissection: A Retrospective Case-Control Study. [Journal Article]J Am Heart Assoc. 2026 Oct 06; 15(19):e051823.JA
- CONCLUSIONS: Selected 3-mm PAAT measures characterize a reproducible computed tomography angiography-based imaging phenotype associated with prevalent TBAD and may complement conventional aortic morphology. These findings are hypothesis generating, and Tear Risk Index should not be used as a standalone clinical predictor.

- Symptomatic primary aortic mural thrombus: Findings after 6 months of oral anticoagulation. [Journal Article]Vasc Med. 2026 Oct; 31(5):696-704.VM
- CONCLUSIONS: Six months of anticoagulation in symptomatic PAMT achieves low recurrence and thrombus regression in most patients with acceptable safety. Prolonging anticoagulation beyond 6 months did not improve outcomes.

- Clinical characteristics, presentation, and outcomes in patients with thoracic aortic thrombus. [Journal Article]Vasc Med. 2026 Oct; 31(5):685-695.VM
- CONCLUSIONS: A significant proportion of patients with thoracic aortic thrombus present with ATE. Younger patients with arch thrombosis from nonaneurysmal/nonatherosclerotic etiologies are at the highest risk of ATE. Patients with nonaneurysmal/nonatherosclerotic etiologies of aortic thrombus were more likely to be treated with anticoagulation and show thrombus regression/resolution; however, the rate of recurrent spontaneous embolic events was low.

- Prevalence of aortic findings among patients with multifocal fibromuscular dysplasia (FMD) seen at a specialised referral centre. [Journal Article]
- CONCLUSIONS: Aortic findings, predominantly presenting as thoracic ectasia or aneurysm, were identified in 10% of patients with multifocal FMD and complete aortic imaging seen at a single specialised referral centre. These findings support recommendations for head-to-pelvis imaging for patients with FMD and highlight the need for further research into the genetic and systemic aspects of this disease.

- A systematic review of technologically enhanced assessment of vessel wall movement and mechanical function in dissected and healthy aortas. [Systematic Review]Semin Vasc Surg. 2026 Sep; 39(3):302-321.SV
- Acute aortic dissection is a vascular emergency with unpredictable progression and outcomes. Standard imaging modalities, such as computed tomography angiography (CTA), facilitate diagnosis and operative planning but provide limited data on vessel wall mechanics and hemodynamics. Modern imaging and computational models may offer deeper insights into natural history prognostication and risk predic…

- Autosomal Recessive Hypercholesterolemia Due to a Novel Homozygous LDLRAP1 Frameshift Mutation. [Case Reports]JACC Case Rep. 2026 Sep 11; :110329. [Online ahead of print]JC
- CONCLUSIONS: The patient was treated with atorvastatin, ezetimibe, and bempedoic acid, resulting in a marked reduction in low-density lipoprotein cholesterol to 80 mg/dL at 3-month follow-up. He remained asymptomatic, although no significant xanthoma regression was observed. This case expands the LDLRAP1 mutational spectrum and highlights the importance of genetic testing in severe pediatric hypercholesterolemia with normal family lipid profiles.Early genetic diagnosis helps distinguish ARH from phenotypically similar disorders and guides treatment and counseling.

- Detection of structural failure in bridging stent grafts: photon-counting CT versus dual-energy CT in a controlled in vitro study. [Journal Article]J Cardiovasc Surg (Torino). 2026 Aug; 67(4):370-379.JC
- CONCLUSIONS: In this controlled experimental setting, PCCT substantially outperformed DECT in the detection of structural bridging stent graft failure, both in subjective and quantitative analyses. These findings suggest that structural BSG defects may be substantially underdetected with conventional CT and that PCCT enables a fundamentally improved level of detectability. This has potential implications for post-f/bEVAR surveillance and warrants further in vivo evaluation.
