  • The role of challenging exercise in improving behavioral dysfunction in a mouse model of Parkinson's disease. [Journal Article]
    Front Behav Neurosci. 2026; 20:1887753.Zeng Y, Chen P, … Liu SFB
  • CONCLUSIONS: Four weeks of acceleration-based rotarod preconditioning substantially delayed behavioral deficits in 6-OHDA-lesioned mice, accompanied by greater preservation of striatal DA and broader upregulation of TH, BDNF, and TrkB compared with constant-speed training. These findings identify exercise intensity as a critical determinant of preconditioning efficacy and support accelerated rotarod training as a more effective neuroprotective strategy in this PD model.
  • Conformation-Selective Binding Domains of Intramolecular Chemically Induced Protein Dimerisation Systems. [Journal Article]
Angew Chem Int Ed Engl. 2026 Oct 02; :e9707369. [Online ahead of print]Cui Z, Guo Z, … Alexandrov KAC
  • Chemically induced protein dimerisation (CID) is a widely used approach for detecting and actuating small-molecule-protein interactions. Here, we demonstrate that CID systems can be used as building blocks for higher-order ligand-controlled protein systems. To this end, we converted classical FK506- and cyclosporine A-controlled CIDs into single-chain pseudo-allosteric proteins. These systems dis…
  • Mechanistic Insights into MYO1C-Mediated Rhodopsin Trafficking and Rod Photoreceptor Homeostasis. [Journal Article]
    bioRxiv. 2026 Sep 09.Radhakrishnan R, Norton V, … Lobo GPB
  • Rhodopsin trafficking from the photoreceptor inner segment to the outer segment is essential for photoreceptor function, yet the molecular mechanism(s) regulating this process remain incompletely understood. MYO1C is an actin-based motor protein implicated in intracellular cargo trafficking. Here, we investigated its role in rhodopsin trafficking and photoreceptor cell homeostasis. In-silico dock…
  • The Roles of Lipoprotein(a) in Atherosclerosis - Minding the Knowledge Gaps. [Review]
Curr Atheroscler Rep. 2026 Sep 30; 28(1).Boffa MB, Assini JM, Koschinsky MLCA
  • Although the association of lipoprotein(a) (Lp(a)) with coronary heart disease was reported over 60 years ago, and subsequent studies have identified a causal and independent role for Lp(a) in disease, many fundamental unanswered questions persist surrounding the biology of this enigmatic lipoprotein. There remain critical questions surrounding the structure and metabolism of Lp(a) and the unique…
