- Comparison of Survival Prognostic Tools in Terminal-Stage Tumor Patients: A Multicenter Prospective Cohort Study. [Multicenter Study]Cancer Med. 2026 Oct; 15(10):e72283.CM
- CONCLUSIONS: The results of this multicenter cohort analysis reveal that in terminal-stage tumor patients in China, KPS, PPS, PPI, and D-PaP are all effective for predicting survival. Specifically, D-PaP is more applicable for predicting 30-day survival. Although D-PaP showed the most significant predictive power, its accuracy in predicting 7-day and 30-day survival outcomes was not significantly superior to that of experienced palliative care professionals. Therefore, future research still needs to develop or update scoring tools with better predictive performance.

- Advancing Patient-Centred AI With Adaptive Machine Learning. [Review]Cancer Med. 2026 Oct; 15(10):e72371.CM
- Healthcare services and data ecosystems remain fragmented, inequitable and misaligned with patient, clinician and public health needs. Three pathways to patient-centred Artificial Intelligence (AI) have emerged to address this: data collaboration, Whole System Approaches and digital inclusion. Each has advanced the field. However, none delivers the continuous, participatory and outcome-grounded l…

- One-Pot Construction of Amine-Linked Covalent Organic Frameworks via Photoredox-Catalyzed Reductive Amination. [Journal Article]Small. 2026 Oct 11; :e76206. [Online ahead of print]S
- Photocatalytic synthesis, as a green and efficient approach to organic synthesis, has been widely adopted in various organic transformations; however, its application in the synthesis of covalent organic frameworks (COFs) remains in the early stages of development. Moreover, to date, no photocatalytic approach has been employed for the synthesis of amine-linked COFs, which feature a higher densit…

- The ability to encode well-defined physical properties and spatiotemporally controlled responses into multifunctional nanocomposites is enabling a new generation of advanced responsive systems. We describe the synthesis of magnetic nanoflowers (NFs) and their full dispersion in PEG-based trimethylolpropane ethoxylate triacrylate (TET) to generate photo-curable nanocomposites. NF-loaded magnetic p…

- Efficient and Polarized Emission From Cs3Cu2Br5 Nanorods via Dithiol Ligand Exchange. [Journal Article]Small. 2026 Oct 11; :e76158. [Online ahead of print]S
- Ternary copper halides, such as Cs3Cu2X5 (X = Cl, Br, or I), are a new class of lead-free nanocrystals with exceptional optical properties, making them promising for photo-down-conversion display applications. However, recent studies on blue-emitting ternary copper halide nanorods (NRs) have reported low photoluminescence quantum yields (PLQY), rendering them inadequate for displays. Using a dith…

- Mapping Research on Warm-Up in Athletes: A Scoping Review with Evidence Gap Map. [Review]Sports Med Open. 2026 Oct 11; 12(1).SM
- CONCLUSIONS: In the current warm-up evidence, the majority of the research studied warm-up as a strategy for acute performance readiness. In addition, studies on injury reduction remain limited compared to acute performance enhancement, reflecting a surveillance and reporting gap. Evidence for competition-referent transfer and real-world implementation also remains limited.

- Validation of a Revised V-Slope Algorithm for Automated First Ventilatory Threshold Detection in Healthy Adults. [Journal Article]Sports Med Open. 2026 Oct 11; 12(1).SM
- CONCLUSIONS: The revised V-slope algorithm demonstrated strong group-level agreement with visual assessment for VT1 determination, supporting the reliability and practical applicability for large-scale research applications in healthy adults. However, given the observed individual-level variability, caution is warranted when applying automated VT1 values to guide exercise prescription for individual patients without expert review.

- SIRT3-Dependent Actions of Berberine: From Molecular Therapies to Toxicity. [Review]J Biochem Mol Toxicol. 2026 Oct; 40(10):e71126.JB
- Berberine, an alkaloid with broad bioactive properties, exerts its pleiotropic effects by modulating SIRT3, a mitochondrial NAD[+]-dependent deacetylase. This review examines the dual role of SIRT3 as a target of berberine in the management of various disorders while also addressing its associated toxicological profiles. The antihyperglycemic effects of berberine are mediated through SIRT3 inhibi…

- Large-scale population sequencing requires reference genomes that accurately represent the genetic background of target populations. Although high-quality linear references such as T2T-CHM13 have improved the completeness of human genome representation, a single reference genome remains insufficient to capture genetic diversity across populations. Pangenome graphs provide a richer representation …
