- A Very Rare Case of Predominantly Well-Differentiated Primary Male Breast Liposarcoma With Focal Dedifferentiation and Histologically Confirmed Pectoral Muscle Invasion. [Case Reports]Cureus. 2026 Sep; 18(9):e115950.C
- Primary breast liposarcoma is a rare subtype of breast sarcoma. In men, it is extremely rare and has generally been reported in the literature as case reports. An 82-year-old man presented with a painless, slowly growing mass in his left breast that had been present for 5-6 months. On examination, the mass measured approximately 20 cm and extended into the axilla. Mammography, breast MRI, and PET…

- A Multicenter Matched Cohort Study of Processed Nerve Allograft and Autograft in Mixed and Motor Nerve Reconstruction. [Journal Article]
- CONCLUSIONS: These findings support allograft as a reasonable alternative to autograft for upper extremity mixed and motor nerve transection injuries. Allograft performed as favorable as autograft while avoiding the need for autograft harvest and the potential donor site morbidity.

- Novel anatomical mapping of the anterior branch of the axillary nerve across the anterior and middle part of the deltoid: a fresh-cadaver study defining safe zones. [Journal Article]
- CONCLUSIONS: Mapping of the anterior branch of the axillary nerve (ABAN) across 12 zones, highlighting both safe and high-risk regions. Key findings indicate that only Zones 2a, 2b, 3a, and 3b in the proximal humerus are safe, whereas all other zones pose risk, with Zones 1 and 5 representing the highest risk. A curved surgical trajectory along Zone 6c → 5d → 5b → 4a → 1c, rather than an acromion-based approach, may reduce iatrogenic ABAN injury during surgery.

- Lack of Utility of Ki-67 in Axillary Surgical Planning and Prognostication after Neoadjuvant Chemotherapy for Node-Positive Breast Cancer. [Journal Article]
- CONCLUSIONS: Ki-67 was not predictive of nodal pCR and is not a useful adjunct for surgical decision-making; however, a decrease in Ki-67 from biopsy to surgical specimen may suggest improved DDFS.

- Primary cutaneous adenoid cystic carcinoma arising in the axilla: a case report and literature review. [Case Reports]
- Primary cutaneous adenoid cystic carcinoma (PCACC) is a rare cutaneous adnexal malignancy. Although its clinical course is generally considered more indolent than that of salivary gland-derived counterparts, PCACC exhibits a significant propensity for local recurrence and a notable potential for distant metastasis. Here, we report a rare case of PCACC arising in the right axilla. Based on a compr…

- Rare Presentation of Synchronous Accessory Breast Carcinoma in Abdominal Wall - A Case Report and Review of the Literature. [Journal Article]Chirurgia (Bucur). 2026 Sep 01; 121(Ahead of print):1-6. [Online ahead of print]C
- Primary malignancy in accessory breast tissue is an infrequent diagnosis representing less than 1% of all breast cancers and most commonly presents with a palpable mass in the axilla. Furthermore, a concurrent second primary breast cancer found in accessory breast tissue is an extremely rare phenomenon, although reports of these are on the rise. Extra-mammary sites where second primary breast mal…

- Mapping the Evidence on Midline Catheter Tip Location, Confirmation Methods and Associated Characteristics: A Scoping Review. [Journal Article]
- CONCLUSIONS: This review highlights substantial heterogeneity in clinical practice and guideline recommendations. The association between tip position and catheter-related complications is multifactorial. This scoping review identifies that current evidence is inadequate to support a clear preference for any single midline catheter tip-positioning strategy. These findings set an agenda for future research to inform standardized, evidence-based midline catheter practice guidelines.

- Evaluating the Performance of Covidence's Artificial Intelligence-Based Screening Function in Cancer Systematic Reviews. [Journal Article]Cancer Innov. 2026 Oct; 5(5):e70077.CI
- CONCLUSIONS: In two large oncology-SRs, Covidence's AI-assisted Stage-I screening function demonstrated meaningful potential to reduce reviewer workload and screening time. Nonetheless, Covidence's performance varied notably between reviews, suggesting a possible association between the results and the characteristics of the SR, including topic, methodological complexity, relevance rate, and inclusion rate. Careful human oversight remains essential to ensure that no potentially finally included studies are missed in evidence synthesis, particularly in nuanced or methodologically complex reviews.
