- Anterior Disc Displacement in a Young Patient With Stage II Osteoarthritis: Diagnostic and Therapeutic Approach. A Case Report. [Journal Article]Case Rep Dent. 2026; 2026:2040786.CR
- Anterior disc displacement without reduction can cause acute functional limitations and may coexist with inflammatory and early degenerative changes in young patients. We report a 22-year-old woman with right preauricular pain, a closed lock, and a maximum unassisted interincisal opening of 19 mm. Cone-beam computed tomography and magnetic resonance imaging confirmed Stage II osteoarthritis of th…

- Closed Lock Duration Is Associated With an Increasing Prevalence of Disc Perforation and Degenerative Arthroscopic Findings in the Temporomandibular Joint. [Journal Article]J Oral Maxillofac Surg. 2026 Sep 18. [Online ahead of print]JO
- CONCLUSIONS: Longer closed lock was associated with increased odds of disc perforation at arthroscopy. Prolonged locking may reflect an ongoing disease progression rather than a stable condition. Earlier identification of patients unlikely to improve may help guide the timing of surgical intervention and reduce the risk of advanced joint degeneration.

- Articular congruence, not neutrality: a systematic review of how native knee geometry shapes load-dependent alignment. [Review]Knee. 2026 Oct 01; 63:104649. [Online ahead of print]KNEE
- CONCLUSIONS: The phenomenon is best interpreted as a geometric load-response of the native knee: unequal M/L contact heights produce coronal inclination, and A/P contact-centroid position produces sagittal behavior. The current literature provides multiple convergent manifestations of this mechanism across WB imaging, axial compression, cadaveric stress testing, JLO manipulation, sagittal geometry, meniscal mechanics, and dynamic in-vivo studies. Clinically, this framework is most directly applicable to native knees with preserved meniscal containment and intact or mildly degenerative compartmental congruence, where static alignment phenotypes should be interpreted together with the load paths that produce them. Future work should directly co-measure ΔJLO, Δh, A/P contact position, and early-flexion tilt in the same standardized protocol.

- Residual meniscal extrusion was not associated with 2-year clinical outcomes after posterior lateral meniscus root repair in a cohort predominantly undergoing anterior cruciate ligament reconstruction. [Journal Article]J ISAKOS. 2026 Sep 30; :101229. [Online ahead of print]JI
- CONCLUSIONS: In this small cohort, predominantly comprising patients treated with combined meniscal root repair and ACL reconstruction, Lysholm scores improved over 2 years. Within the limited observed extrusion range of 1.20 to 3.15 mm, no statistically significant association with clinical outcomes was demonstrated.

- CONCLUSIONS: The rates of ACL retear status post BEAR with and without modification are low at 2 years, with five retears occurring between 14 and 28 months. Excellent stability and range of motion are attained at 1 year, with good patient reported outcomes measures at 2 years.

- All-Inside Medial Meniscus Root Repair Improves Function With Results Comparable to Tibial Pullout Method, but Both Methods Fail to Correct Extrusion: A Systematic Review of Clinical and Biomechanical Studies. [Review]Arthroscopy. 2026 Sep 29. [Online ahead of print]A
- CONCLUSIONS: The all-inside repair, like the conventional pullout method, is a safe and effective method of medial meniscal root repair with reliable effects on joint's biomechanics, patients' function, minimal clinically important difference rates, and meniscus healing. Importantly, neither technique consistently restores meniscal position, because meaningful correction of extrusion remains unachieved. Given the substantial heterogeneity and predominantly nonrandomized nature of the available evidence, surgical decision-making should be individualized based on procedural context, concomitant procedures (e.g., osteotomy or additional tunnel requirements), and surgeon preference rather than presumed differences in efficacy.

- Warm Needle Acupuncture Attenuates Pain-Related Responses and Inflammation in Knee Osteoarthritis: Evidence for Involvement of TAK1/MAPK Signaling from Human Cartilage and Experimental Models. [Journal Article]
- CONCLUSIONS: WNA was associated with lower TAK1/MAPK signaling and reduced IL-1β, TNF-α, and IL-6 in KOA. Human cartilage proteomics also showed WNA-associated changes in MAPK-related processes. Together, these findings support the involvement of TAK1/MAPK-related inflammatory signaling in the response to WNA. Direct functional studies are needed to determine the causal roles of TAK1 and individual MAPK branches.

- CONCLUSIONS: A diagnostic model combining clinical and magnetic resonance imaging findings demonstrated internally validated performance for identifying hypermobile lateral meniscus as defined by dynamic arthroscopy. The Hypermobile Meniscus Index provides a structured framework to improve preoperative recognition and guide targeted arthroscopic assessment in patients with mechanical lateral compartment symptoms and inconclusive imaging. External validation is required prior to routine clinical implementation.

- CONCLUSIONS: No statistically significant differences in mid-term patient-reported outcomes were observed between lesion types in this cohort after ACL reconstruction with LM posterior root repair. However, differences in return-to-sport level were identified and should be interpreted cautiously given the limited sample size. These findings should also be interpreted in light of the retrospective design and the absence of objective postoperative imaging and functional assessments. Further studies are required to determine whether clinically relevant differences exist between lesion types.

A wide range of pathologies can present with BMLs, including traumatic lesions, osteoarthritis, subchondral insufficiency fractures and osteonecrosis. Several treatment options have been proposed to address BM…
