- Bridging Knowledge and Practice: Exploring the Application of Health Equity Education in Graduate Medical Education Clinical Settings. [Journal Article]J Gen Intern Med. 2026 Aug 20. [Online ahead of print]JG
- CONCLUSIONS: Health equity in clinical settings emerges through negotiation between individual transformation and environment. Without attention to power dynamics, resource allocation, and institutional culture, health equity educational interventions risk developing demoralized physicians who recognize inequity but lack support to address it. Programs require aligned curriculum, faculty development, and institutional infrastructure to enable equity-oriented action.

- Female genital self-image: a systematic review of predictive and associated factors. [Journal Article]Sex Med. 2026 Sep; 23(9):qdag237.SM
- CONCLUSIONS: FGSI is a multifaceted construct that is influenced by a complex interplay of demographic, physical, sexual, and psychological factors. A clear understanding of these associated and predictive factors is vital for developing effective interventions aimed at promoting positive FGSI and overall sexual health in women. Given the cross-sectional nature of most included studies, causal inferences cannot be made. This review provides a foundational framework for both clinical assessment and future research in this field.

- Expert panel to identify applications of virtual reality (VR) in cognitive behavioral therapy for alcohol use disorder: A Delphi study. [Journal Article]Res Sq. 2026 Aug 06.RS
- Background. Cognitive behavior therapy (CBT) is efficacious for alcohol use disorder (AUD). Virtual reality could augment CBT by immersing patients in relevant situations, scenarios, or exercises. We sought expert consensus on the most promising applications of VR and how, when, and where it might best be used. Methods. We conducted a Delphi study with 10 experts in CBT for AUD. Round 1's open-en…

- Links between Discipline Practices and Early Childhood Behavior Problems: Universal or Culture-Specific? [Journal Article]
- Harsh parental disciplinary approaches can negatively impact children emotionally and behaviorally, and early childhood mental health difficulties can impact later life functioning. We examined parental disciplinary approaches (i.e., inductive and power assertion approaches) during childhood in relation to internalizing, externalizing, and total behavior problems across 14 countries. We hypothesi…

- Investigating Undergraduate Student Perceptions of Classroom Inclusion-Emergence of the Student Perceptions of Instructor Practices-Inclusion/Exclusion (SPIP-I/E) Framework. [Journal Article]CBE Life Sci Educ. 2026 Sep; 25(3):ar30.CL
- While assertions are common about what fosters inclusive undergraduate STEM classrooms, few studies have systematically investigated student perspectives. Additionally, it is unclear how students broadly perceive active learning practices in relation to inclusion. As such, we purposefully investigated student perceptions of classroom inclusion across courses in a biology department enriched with …

- The internal structure of transformational leadership as perceived by clinical nurses: a network analysis. [Journal Article]Front Psychol. 2026; 17:1878851.FP
- CONCLUSIONS: Network analysis revealed that transformational leadership in clinical nursing constitutes a complex, interconnected network. In nursing manager training, core nodes (D6, A7, C5, C6) and bridge nodes (C1, B6, B1, D1) may be prioritized to potentially enhance leadership competency, align nurses' career goals with hospital objectives, and foster synergistic leadership interactions.

- Random Sparse Networks Training with Sharpness-Aware Regularization. [Journal Article]IEEE Trans Pattern Anal Mach Intell. 2026 Aug 10; PP. [Online ahead of print]IT
- Over-parameterization is critical for optimizing neural networks, whereas training sparse networks directly often fails to achieve satisfactory performance. However, the Lottery Ticket Hypothesis (LTH) demonstrates that a randomly initialized dense model has a sparse subnetwork that can be identified through iterative magnitude pruning, while maintaining strong trainability. In this study, we exa…

- A Review on the Geometry of the Conharmonic Curvature Tensor of Almost Hermitian and Almost Contact Metric Manifolds. [Review]MethodsX. 2026 Dec; 17:104078.M
- This literature review focuses on six studies of the conharmonic curvature tensor in almost Hermitian and almost contact metric manifolds. The conharmonic curvature tensor is a more effective constant invariant for detecting conformal curvature events than traditional invariants. The principal methodological concern is the absence of a thorough investigation that integrates previous research outc…

- Drivers' neglect of cyclists in right-turns-a matter of rule knowledge rather than a lack of attention. [Journal Article]Accid Anal Prev. 2026 Oct; 236:108709.AA
- Right-hook crashes in right-hand traffic where cyclists going straight are struck by right-turning vehicles pose a major safety concern. This study aims to establish to which extent such conflicts may stem from non-driving-related tasks (NDRT), low saliency of cyclists (covertness), or drivers' insufficient knowledge of applicable rules. Forty-four drivers participated in a fixed-base driving sim…

- Risk, management and future directions for refeeding syndrome and enteral nutrition, an adult and paediatric perspective. [Review]Curr Opin Clin Nutr Metab Care. 2026 Sep 01; 29(5):469-474.CO
- CONCLUSIONS: Clinical practice and research in refeeding syndrome is slowly changing, with a focus on preventing unnecessary and prolonged underfeeding in malnourished patients and in children during critical stages of growth. Future research should ensure risk criteria is specific to the clinical conditions and/or age groups being investigated. Refeeding syndrome and its subsequent management should also be considered along a spectrum, rather than as an all or nothing event. By incorporating these recommendations, research in the field will evolve to advance knowledge and enhance clinical practice.

- Exploring the Potential for Smartphone-Based Reflection to Support Socioemotional Competence Development in Student Nurses' Clinical Placement: Mixed Methods Field Trial. [Journal Article]JMIR Nurs. 2026 Aug 05; 9:e91083.JN
- CONCLUSIONS: This study gives a rich description of how nursing students used a reflection app to structure their learning process during clinical placement. It reveals that smartphone-based reflection supports students in clinical placement learning. Specifically, the app lowers barriers to engaging in structural reflection and decreases the mental burden of self-regulated learning. However, more guidance and a multimodal intervention approach seem necessary for SEC development. Further research into how to account for students' shifting attitudes toward learning is needed.

- Development and validation of the Social Emotional Assets (SEA) scale: a culturally responsive measure of social-emotional competencies in emerging adulthood. [Journal Article]Front Psychol. 2026; 17:1801087.FP
- Social emotional competencies in children and youth are associated with academic and psychological wellbeing. However, application to post-secondary students has been limited, and measures have been centered on the white, middle-class experience. Emerging adulthood is a time of heightened emotionality, instability, and relationship vulnerability. Therefore, the development of social emotion compe…
