  • Clinical application study of script-based Monaco automated planning in whole-brain radiation therapy. [Journal Article]
Med Dosim. 2026 Oct 07. [Online ahead of print]Zeng F, Liu M, … Wang XMD
  • Elekta's Monaco (Elekta AB, Stockholm, Sweden) treatment planning system (TPS) introduces script-based automation functionality. This study developed and validated a fully script-based automated radiotherapy planning solution for whole-brain radiotherapy (WBRT) based on the Monaco TPS. This approach not only enables complete automation of the planning workflow but also effectively enhances plan q…
  • Cortico-striatal network architecture shapes rhythmic biases in music. [Journal Article]
    Cereb Cortex. 2026 Oct 06; 36(10).Lumaca M, van der Werff J, … Ravignani ACC
  • Why is human music rhythmically structured the way it is? One hypothesis is that the human brain is intrinsically wired to favor specific rhythmic organizations. To test this, we collected diffusion and resting-state functional MRI (fMRI) data from musically untrained participants and, weeks later, asked them to imitate randomly generated drumming sequences using finger taps. These imitations exh…
  • Auditory nerve phenotypes reveal a myelin-associated subtype of age-related hearing loss. [Journal Article]
medRxiv. 2026 Sep 13.Harris KC, Payne S, … Lang HM
  • Communication difficulties in older adults are only partially explained by elevated hearing thresholds, suggesting that age-related changes in auditory nerve function contribute to disability beyond conventional measures of hearing sensitivity. Myelin degeneration is increasingly recognized as a fundamental feature of neural aging, yet its contribution to auditory nerve dysfunction remains poorly…
  • Stimulation-Stability and Preclinical Bench Testing of a New Auditory Nerve Interface. [Journal Article]
    Res Sq. 2026 Sep 08.Stump T, Strahl S, … Rieth LRS
  • CONCLUSIONS: The outcomes from the studies indicate that ANI electrodes exhibit a high degree of integrity and impedance stability.Microscopy characterization proved effective for evaluating electrodes, providing complementary information to standard BSEM.This study suggests the ANI device tolerate a 1.5 year in-dwelling period for a 1 year perceptual study of stimulation evoked percepts, paving the way for clinical translation.
  • Temporal neural dynamics patterns in episodic and chronic migraine: a magnetoencephalography study. [Journal Article]
    J Headache Pain. 2026 Jul 27; 27(1).Lin C, Qiu D, … Wang YJH
  • CONCLUSIONS: This study identifies distinct alterations in the temporal dynamics of VN and AN in EM and CM. Abnormalities in AN were observed during both resting and somatosensory stimulation states, while disease duration in CM was associated with altered temporal metrics of the AN. These cross-sectional findings support the involvement of altered sensory and cross-modal network processing in migraine and warrant longitudinal validation.
  • Altered Inter-Network Functional Integration Underlies Speech Impairment in Parkinson's Disease: A Resting-State fMRI Analysis. [Journal Article]
    Brain Behav. 2026 Oct; 16(10):e71798.Deng S, Xiao Y, … Qin CBB
  • CONCLUSIONS: This study identifies disrupted functional connectivity between the LFPN and AUN in individuals with PD-SD. These findings suggest that altered integration of RSNs involved in motor, cognitive, and auditory processing may contribute to speech impairment in PD. Hyperconnectivity between LFPN and AUN may thus serve as a neural substrate for speech impairment in PD. Specifically, increased connectivity between the LFPN and AUN may represent a neural signature associated with speech dysfunction in PD. These results provide potential mechanistic insights and highlight candidate neural targets for future neuromodulation strategies aimed at improving speech function.
  • Cell-inspired dual-tandem catalytic nanoreactors drive targeted hearing protection. [Journal Article]
    Nat Commun. 2026 Aug 28; 17(1).Xu B, Chen X, … Chen YNC
  • Sensorineural hearing loss is driven by disruption of cochlear homeostasis, where dysregulated redox, ionic, and metabolic factors lead to hair cell degeneration and synaptic injury. Current strategies lack the capacity to restore the enzymatic clearance of reactive oxygen species or penetrate the blood-labyrinth barrier. Here, we report a cell-inspired dual-tandem catalytic nanoreactor (HSC@Se) …
