- Pathogenic mechanisms of adult degenerative scoliosis. [Review]Front Cell Dev Biol. 2026; 14:1949453.FC
- Adult degenerative scoliosis (ADS) is not merely a unidimensional sagittal decompensation, but rather a three-dimensional pathological process driven by asymmetric degeneration of intervertebral discs, endplates, facet joints, and paraspinal muscles, wherein coronal scoliosis, sagittal imbalance, and vertebral axial rotation mutually couple and amplify one another. Endplate tilting and nucleus pu…

- Anatomic feasibility of using Shark Screw tendon for humeral ligament re-construction in medial and posterolateral elbow instability. [Journal Article]JSES Int. 2026 Nov; 10(6):101786.JI
- CONCLUSIONS: The Shark Screw tendon appears to be a feasible biologically integrative alternative for humeral fixation in medial and posterolateral elbow ligament re-construction, demonstrating preliminary time-zero fixation characteristics in a cadaveric model. Further biomechanical and clinical studies are needed to confirm long-term outcomes.

- Robot-assisted wide-amplitude oscillatory photoacoustic scanning for three-dimensional human peripheral vascular imaging: A preliminary feasibility study. [Journal Article]Photoacoustics. 2026 Oct; 51:100877.P
- Photoacoustic tomography (PAT) is a promising tool for non-invasive vascular imaging, yet conventional linear scanning suffers from "limited-view" artifacts and structural discontinuities due to restricted transducer acceptance angles. To overcome these physical bottlenecks, we propose a robot-assisted wide-amplitude oscillatory (WAO) scanning strategy. By integrating controlled lateral harmonic …

- Ocular biometric characteristics in young Saudi adults across varying degrees of myopia. [Journal Article]PeerJ. 2026; 14:e21767.P
- CONCLUSIONS: Myopia severity in young adults is associated with significant structural changes, primarily AXL elongation and only minimal enlargement of anterior segment dimensions particularly the ACD and ACA, suggesting that posterior expansion predominates over anterior. These biometric patterns have important implications for refractive surgery planning, glaucoma risk assessment, and monitoring of myopia progression.

- Nano-Stabilizer Engineering of Rare-Earth Metal Single-Atom Site for Boosted Oxygen Electroreduction and Metal-Air Batteries. [Journal Article]Adv Mater. 2026 Oct 04; :e75283. [Online ahead of print]AM
- Stabilizing the coordination structure of highly active catalytic sites is an effective strategy for enhancing catalytic performance. Herein, rare-earth metal Pr-based single-atom nano-stabilizer engineering is reported for stabilizing highly active Fe-N4O sites, thereby achieving enhanced activity toward the oxygen reduction reaction and in metal-air batteries. In situ x-ray absorption spectrosc…

- Meaning-Making Among Family Members of Hospitalized Traffic Accident Victims: A Grounded Theory Study. [Journal Article]Cureus. 2026 Sep; 18(9):e115719.C
- Background Traffic accidents represent an important public health problem in Nicaragua, yet national research has largely emphasized quantitative outcomes and has paid less attention to how families interpret these events during hospitalization. This study aimed to understand how family members of hospitalized traffic accident victims construct meaning around the accident during the patient's hos…

- Surgical approach and insert constraint are associated with small differences in patellar tilt after robotic-assisted total knee arthroplasty: A retrospective comparative radiographic study. [Journal Article]J Exp Orthop. 2026 Oct; 13(4):e70933.JE
- CONCLUSIONS: Robotic-assisted functional positioning provided consistent static patellofemoral alignment regardless of surgical approach or insert constraint. Although statistically significant differences in patellar tilt were detected, their approximately 1° magnitude suggests a negligible radiographic effect. Their clinical significance remains unknown because clinical outcomes and dynamic patellar tracking were not assessed.

- Mechanical Characterization of Fibrin-Based Blood Clot Analogues for Modeling Intracerebral Hemorrhage. [Journal Article]
- CONCLUSIONS: Fibrin-based clot analogues provide a reproducible and tunable platform for modeling selected mechanical characteristics of ICH clots. The formulations span distinct mechanical behaviors that may support standardized benchtop and cadaveric evaluation of MIS ICH evacuation technologies.

- Premyopia Progression and Low-Dose Atropine Intervention in Children with Unilateral Myopia. [Journal Article]Curr Eye Res. 2026 Oct 03; :1-8. [Online ahead of print]CE
- CONCLUSIONS: Untreated myopic eyes showed greater SE progression and AL elongation than their fellow premyopic eyes. 0.01% atropine treatment showed a potential effect in reducing myopic shift and incidence. Meanwhile, the management should be individualized according to baseline refraction and documented progression.

- Therapeutics in Axial Spondyloarthritis: A Review of What Works - SPARTAN 2026 Annual Meeting Proceedings. [Review]
- Axial spondyloarthritis (axSpA) encompasses a broad disease spectrum, and the management landscape has expanded considerably over the past two decades. This review synthesizes the current evidence on pharmacological and non-pharmacological interventions in axSpA, addressing both symptom control and radiographic outcomes across drug classes and patient contexts.

- Risk factors of retinal non-reattachment after initial buckling surgery for rhegmatogenous retinal detachment. [Journal Article]
- CONCLUSIONS: The initial reattachment rate for SB surgery for RRD was high, and no risk factors for non-reattachment were identified. However, a favorable outcome was more likely for inferior retinal breaks than breaks in other quadrants.
