  • Additional evidence supports a timescale exceeding 100,000 years for the Guliya ice cap, Tibetan Plateau. [Journal Article]
Sci Adv. 2026 Oct 02; 12(40):eaeh2912.Thompson LG, Davis ME, … Christl MSA
  • The oxygen isotope (δ18Oice) record from a ∼310-meter core drilled on the Guliya ice cap (GIC) in 2015 (GP2015) demonstrates reproducibility with a ∼309-meter core drilled nearby in 1992. Construction of the timescale for a composite of the GIC cores used 10Be and 36Cl to locate the 41-thousand year Laschamp geomagnetic excursion and a match to a δ18Oatm-dated core from the Guliya Summit. Compari…
  • Effect of volume for injection of the 15th to 16th thoracic interspinous space: An ex vivo study. [Journal Article]
Equine Vet J. 2026 Sep 30. [Online ahead of print]Melly V, Brown KA, … Davidson EEV
  • CONCLUSIONS: Dorsal midline injection at T15-T16 is a technique with poor specificity for targeting the interspinous ligament and frequently results in periarticular and intervertebral foramen distribution, placing injectate in proximity to adjacent articular and neurovascular structures. This may lead to misinterpretation of clinical results after injection and potential complications. Craniocaudal injectate spread increased with larger injection volume.
  • Development and Histopathological Validation of a Novel Unilateral Three-Level Lumbar Artery Ligation Model of Progressive Intervertebral Disc Degeneration. [Journal Article]
    Orthop Rev (Pavia). 2026; 18:171209.Ugur F, Sarikas N, … Albayrak MOR
  • CONCLUSIONS: The proposed unilateral three-level lumbar artery ligation model successfully reproduces the acute, subacute, and chronic stages of IVDD through controlled vascular insufficiency. By avoiding direct mechanical damage to the intervertebral disc, this approach more closely reflects the stepwise pathophysiological evolution of vascular-related IVDD than conventional mechanistically induced models. This model demonstrates consistent and progressive degeneration at histopathological and morphometric levels, providing a robust, reproducible, and clinically relevant platform for investigating vascular contributions to IVDD and for the preclinical evaluation of regenerative and therapeutic strategies.
  • Intrinsic Tension Drives Palatal Shelf Reorientation post Tongue Retraction. [Journal Article]
    J Dent Res. 2026 Sep 30; :220345261448467. [Online ahead of print]Chen CC, Zhang S, … Goodwin AFJD
  • Cleft palate can be caused by failure of elevation of the palatal shelves over the tongue during development. The physical mechanism of elevation is poorly understood. It is thought that elevation is obstructed by the tongue in a condition known as Pierre Robin sequence (PRS), in which the mandible is smaller (micrognathia) and/or further back than normal (retrognathia). Some PRS cases are associ…
  • Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis of Emerging Viral Zoonotic Diseases, 2016-2026. [Systematic Review]
Transbound Emerg Dis. 2026; 2026(1):e9884191.Tao P, Zang YA, … Liao MTE
  • Emerging viral zoonoses-infections caused by viruses that cross the species barrier from animal reservoirs into human populations-account for the majority of emerging infectious disease (EID) events and now constitute a defining threat to global health security. Over the past decade the tempo of these spillovers has increased, propelled by land-use change, agricultural intensification, wildlife t…
  • Coupled spin-coordination self-adaptation drives efficient nitrate to ammonia conversion. [Journal Article]
Nat Commun. 2026 Aug 29; 17(1).Peng CK, Lin YR, … Lin YGNC
  • Electrochemical nitrate reduction reaction (NO3RR) is a promising approach for sustainable ammonia production and nitrogen pollution mitigation, but its efficiency is often limited by sluggish nitrate hydrogenation. The spin state and coordination environment of the active metal play crucial roles in selectivity and reaction kinetics, yet designing electronically adaptive active sites for the com…
  • The role of grammar in transformer encoders: Does it really matter for language understanding process? [Journal Article]
    Neural Netw. 2026 Sep 24; 206(Pt A):109682. [Online ahead of print]Wang F, Arora C, Xie ZNN
  • Transformer-based methods achieve strong performance on language understanding tasks, yet the role of grammar in encoder representations remains insufficiently explained. While decoder-only models implicitly learn language structure through next-token prediction, encoder-only models still dominate many classification and matching tasks, where grammatical relations can affect the decision boundary…
