- Tibial migration of a novel cementless total knee arthroplasty : a multicentre radiostereometric analysis study. [Journal Article]
- CONCLUSIONS: This novel cementless tibial baseplate demonstrated early stabilization with no evidence of continuous migration over two years. These RSA findings suggest a low risk of future aseptic loosening, and support the early fixation performance of this implant design.

- Computed tomography analysis of glenoid size and bone depth: insights for baseplate fixation in reverse shoulder arthroplasty. [Journal Article]
- CONCLUSIONS: This classification provides a simple and reproducible anatomical framework for glenoid size stratification. While not intended to replace patient-specific three dimensional planning, it may serve as a complementary screening tool to anticipate implant sizing and fixation strategies. Validation in pathologic glenoids is required.

- Artificial intelligence for postoperative plain radiographic assessment after reverse total shoulder arthroplasty: current evidence, clinical readiness, and limitations. [Journal Article]
- Postoperative radiographic follow-up after reverse total shoulder arthroplasty (RTSA) plays an essential role in the early detection of implant-related complications and longitudinal risk stratification. However, interpretation of plain radiographs remains limited by interobserver variability and low sensitivity to subtle or progressive mechanical changes. This review was intended to survey the c…

- Concurrent Revision Reverse Total Shoulder Arthroplasty and Scapular Spine ORIF for Periprosthetic Fractures: A Report of 2 Cases Using a Dual-Strategy Solution. [Case Reports]JBJS Case Connect. 2026 Jul 01; 16(3).JC
- CONCLUSIONS: The authors present a novel strategy to correct the underlying biomechanical stressors of an overtensioned RTSA construct while stabilizing the scapular spine fractures, resulting in excellent healing and functional recovery.

- Corrosion and wear damage estimations for retrieved knee and hip implants. [Journal Article]
- Predicting the lifetime and function of orthopedic implants requires learning from failures observed in retrieved implants. This study scored mechanical and corrosion damage based on optical microscopy (OM) for 135 trunnion parts of retrieved hip implants and 106 tibial baseplates of retrieved knee implants. We used scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and energy dispersive X-ray spectroscopy to ca…

- Primary Total Knee Arthroplasty Using a Cementless Highly Porous Titanium Tibial Baseplate in Patients Under the Age of 50: An Average 7.6-year Follow-up. [Journal Article]
- CONCLUSIONS: Cementless TKA utilizing a highly porous baseplate in patients aged ≤50 years with mean 7.6-year follow-up demonstrated excellent survivorship with no revisions due to aseptic loosening. Results of this study using a cementless highly porous tibial baseplate with the advantage of biological fixation appear promising.

- Practice habits in board-eligible shoulder and elbow orthopedic surgeons. [Journal Article]
- CONCLUSIONS: Our study shows that indications for surgery are adjusted during the monitored board collection period, perhaps indicating a need for further adjustments to the process in the future to reflect an individual's practice pattern more accurately. However, these findings must be cautiously interpreted in the setting of a small sample size and lack of statistical analyses.

- Aseptic glenoid baseplate loosening after reverse total shoulder arthroplasty with a lateralized convex baseplate: helical blade versus central peg fixation. [Multicenter Study]
- CONCLUSIONS: In these patients who underwent RTSA using a lateralised convex baseplate, AGBL rates and functional improvement at two years' follow-up did not differ significantly between helical blade and central peg fixation.

- Distal femur replacement after catastrophic failure of a total knee arthroplasty. [Case Reports]BMJ Case Rep. 2026 Aug 25; 19(8).BC
- Catastrophic implant failure is a rare complication after total knee arthroplasty (TKA) that can lead to metallosis and pseudotumour formation requiring complex revision surgery. This case report describes a man in his 60s who presented with progressive knee pain, a squeaking implant and ligamentous instability 20 years post-primary TKA. Imaging demonstrated polyethylene failure, tibial baseplate…

- Early Survivorship Analysis of a Modern Anatomic Cementless Tibial Baseplate: A Multicenter Retrospective Study. [Journal Article]
- CONCLUSIONS: This cementless tibial baseplate demonstrated low early revision and aseptic loosening rates; however, imprecise Cox regression estimates preclude conclusions regarding equivalent survivorship. Longer-term prospective studies with contemporary controls are warranted.

- A new cementless tibial baseplate in kinematically aligned total knee arthroplasty has low migration and stabilizes at 3 months: A cohort study using radiostereometric analysis. [Journal Article]Knee Surg Sports Traumatol Arthrosc. 2026 Aug 17. [Online ahead of print]KS
- CONCLUSIONS: The new cementless tibial baseplate has migration significantly below the 6-month threshold where baseplates have a low incidence of long-term loosening and migration stabilizes early at 3 months. Varus alignment of the baseplate and the limb as well as tibial recuts were not associated with increased migration.

- Outcomes of revision reverse total shoulder arthroplasty after failed anatomic total shoulder arthroplasty. [Journal Article]
- CONCLUSIONS: Revision rTSA after failed TSA demonstrates significant improvements in patient-reported outcomes and ROM at an average follow-up period of greater than 5 years. Baseplate failure is the most common reason for re-revision. In this implant family, larger glenospheres were associated with lower baseplate-related re-revision in exploratory analysis. Use of larger glenosphere sizes (40-44 mm) is associated with lower rates of baseplate failure in this population within an implant system where the glenosphere is designed to contact the underlying glenoid bone. This finding should not be generalized to implant systems that do not share this design characteristic.
