- Baseline DCP May Modify Response to Atezolizumab-Bevacizumab Versus Durvalumab-Tremelimumab in Unresectable HCC. [Journal Article]Liver Int. 2026 Aug; 46(8):e70803.LI
- CONCLUSIONS: Baseline DCP may modify the relative treatment benefit between Atez/Bev and Dur/Tre in unresectable HCC. Rather than defining a rigid cutoff, DCP appears to delineate a continuum in which higher levels increasingly favour Dur/Tre, providing a practical framework for individualized immunotherapy selection.

- Marked Response to Nivolumab Plus Ipilimumab After the Failure of Two Prior Immune Checkpoint Inhibitor-Based Regimens Including CTLA-4 Blockade in Advanced Hepatocellular Carcinoma. [Journal Article]Intern Med. 2026 Jul 18. [Online ahead of print]IM
- Immune checkpoint inhibitor (ICI)-based combination therapies are standard treatments for advanced hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC). However, the efficacy of sequential ICI regimens remains unclear. We report the case of a 59-year-old woman with advanced HCC with peritoneal dissemination who showed rapid tumor regression after nivolumab plus ipilimumab as a third ICI-based regimen, following confir…

- Maculopexy Resolves Cystic Macular Edema After Branch Retinal Vein Occlusion. [Journal Article]Retin Cases Brief Rep. 2026 Jul 20. [Online ahead of print]RC
- CONCLUSIONS: When medical therapy is insufficiently effective, maculopexy by grid laser combined with intravitreal drying agents and/or gas tamponade can achieve long-term resolution of cystoid macular edema in selected cases. Parafoveal laser treatment must be precisely performed.

- Association between PLVAP downregulation and increased lymphocyte infiltration in newly diagnosed glioblastoma treated with bevacizumab. [Journal Article]
- Glioblastoma (GBM) is a highly lethal brain tumor resistant to immunotherapy such as immune checkpoint inhibitors, partly because of an immunosuppressive tumor microenvironment and blood-brain barrier (BBB) dysfunction. Although bevacizumab can remodel the tumor vasculature, the relationship between BBB-related vascular changes and immune cell infiltration in GBM remains poorly understood. We ana…

- Long-term predictors of recurrence in pediatric recurrent respiratory papillomatosis. [Journal Article]
- CONCLUSIONS: Recurrence in pediatric RRP is multifactorial. Novel predictors-lesion growth rate, SES, and immunodeficiency-enhance risk stratification. Adjuvant therapies show associative benefit, and SQOL correlates with recurrence, highlighting the clinical importance of functional outcomes.

- Cervical Lymph Node Metastasis As the Initial Manifestation of Colorectal Cancer: Progression to Complete Clinical Response After Systemic Treatment. [Case Reports]Cureus. 2026 Jun; 18(6):e111061.C
- Colorectal cancer has well-established metastatic patterns, with the liver and lungs being the most frequent sites of dissemination. Cervical lymph node involvement as an initial manifestation is extremely rare and represents a significant diagnostic challenge. We describe the case of a 68-year-old female patient with no relevant comorbidities, who initially presented with left cervical lymphaden…

- Quantification of Annual Environmental Waste Generated by Intravitreal Injections: A Practice-Wide Analysis. [Journal Article]J Vitreoretin Dis. 2026 Jul 17; :24741264261467251. [Online ahead of print]JV
- CONCLUSIONS: This practice-wide analysis identified key contributors to environmental waste produced from IVT injections and highlighted several opportunities for waste reduction. Strategies such as the use of prefilled syringes, improved packaging efficiency, digital package inserts, and the elimination of optional injection components can help minimize environmental waste generation. These findings may help physicians and manufacturers reduce environmental waste through procedural modifications and improved packaging efficiency.

- Mechanistic synergies and optimal sequencing of anti‑VEGF plus immune checkpoint inhibition in gastrointestinal cancers. [Review]Discov Oncol. 2026 Jul 17. [Online ahead of print]DO
- Gastrointestinal (GI) malignancies remain leading causes of cancer-related mortality despite advances in therapeutic strategies. This review was undertaken to provide a comprehensive synthesis of the mechanistic rationale, preclinical evidence, and clinical data supporting the combination of anti-vascular endothelial growth factor (anti-VEGF) agents with immune checkpoint inhibitors (ICIs) in GI …

- Treatment-Emergent Isolated EGFR C797S Mutation Following First-Line Osimertinib-Based Combination Therapy: A Case Report and Literature Review. [Journal Article]Respirol Case Rep. 2026 Jul; 14(7):e70673.RC
- Osimertinib is the standard first-line treatment for EGFR-mutated non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC), although acquired resistance remains inevitable. The EGFR C797S mutation is a recognized on-target resistance mechanism; however, the T790M-negative/C797S-only subtype following frontline osimertinib-based combination therapy is rarely reported. We describe a 44-year-old Vietnamese never-smoking …

- Exceptional Long-Term Disease Stability Under Nivolumab in Recurrent High-Grade Glioma: A Case Report. [Case Reports]Cureus. 2026 Jun; 18(6):e110942.C
- Immune checkpoint inhibitors have not demonstrated a survival benefit in unselected high-grade glioma populations; however, a subset of patients may achieve durable disease control. We report the case of a 30-year-old male patient diagnosed with a right temporoparietal high-grade glioma, initially classified as anaplastic astrocytoma and later evolving to astrocytoma, isocitrate dehydrogenase (ID…

- Early-onset duodenal perforation during bevacizumab-containing chemotherapy in a patient with ovarian cancer: a case report. [Journal Article]J Pharm Health Care Sci. 2026 Jul 16. [Online ahead of print]JP
- CONCLUSIONS: When administering bevacizumab to patients with ovarian cancer and multiple perforation risk factors, careful consideration should be given to evaluating existing ulcers, appropriately using concomitant medications, and modifying perforation risk factors to avoid serious adverse events. Therefore, collaboration between a multidisciplinary team, including oncologists, rheumatologists, and pharmacists, is crucial for appropriate drug use and continuous monitoring.

- Integrated Evaluation of Survival, Surgical Conversion, and Toxicity for Induction Therapy in Initially Unresectable Colorectal Liver Metastases: An Individual Patient Data Network Meta-analysis. [Journal Article]
- CONCLUSIONS: Bevacizumab plus triplet chemotherapy improves disease control and surgical conversion benefits but is associated with greater toxicity. Bevacizumab plus doublet chemotherapy showed the most favorable benefit-risk balance and may represent an optimal compromise for patients with initially unresectable CRLM.

- Safety of Immune-Targeted Therapy in Patients with Hepatocellular Carcinoma in the Real-World. [Journal Article]
- CONCLUSIONS: This study delineated distinct profiles of adverse events associated with immunotargeted therapies, which serves as a critical reference for risk assessment and therapeutic selection. Though atezolizumab plus bevacizumab is recommended as first-line treatment for advanced HCC, potential severe immune-mediated adverse events affecting multiple organs suggested the importance of clinical vigilance. Extrapolation of pembrolizumab+lenvatinib and atezolizumab+cabozantinib from other cancers to HCC warrants caution in consideration of the associated bleeding risks and hepatic complications.
