- Establishing standardized evaluation protocols for peptide-target interaction prediction: the PTI-TAPE consensus framework eDelphi. [Journal Article]Front Bioinform. 2026; 6:1894725.FB
- Computational peptide-target interaction (PTI) prediction has advanced rapidly as a tool for drug discovery, yet the field lacks agreed evaluation standards. Discrepancies in metrics, negative sampling strategies, and dataset construction across publications currently render cross-study comparisons methodologically intractable, ultimately impeding the clinical translation of therapeutic peptides.…

- A robust lightweight deep learning network with deformable convolutions for efficient segmentation of optical coherence tomography images. [Journal Article]Front Digit Health. 2026; 8:1892323.FD
- Manual segmentation and evaluation of optical coherence tomography (OCT) images are difficult and rely on specialist training, which limits the output in a busy clinic. While automatic segmentation can ease this burden, the deep models that currently lead the field tend to be too heavy for routine deployment on standard clinical hardware. A further obstacle is the unusual geometry of OCT data: in…

- Comprehensive coronary computed tomography angiography assessment in high-altitude diabetic populations: integrating plaque characteristics, pericoronary inflammation, and coronary function. [Journal Article]Front Cardiovasc Med. 2026; 13:1886360.FC
- CONCLUSIONS: Diabetes was associated with a more adverse coronary CCTA phenotype, whereas the high-altitude Tibetan group showed lower CAC and plaque burden and higher vessel-specific CT-FFR than the low-altitude Han group. The association between diabetes and LAD-PCAT attenuation differed between these groups. These findings warrant validation in larger, ethnically comparable longitudinal cohorts.

- Association of Serum GDF-15 with Bone and Muscle Parameters in Community-Dwelling Individuals. [Journal Article]Front Med (Lausanne). 2026; 13:1920342.FM
- CONCLUSIONS: Higher circulating GDF-15 levels were independently associated with lower volumetricBMD and poorer muscle parameters in both women and men. These findings support the potential role of GDF-15 as a biomarker of age-related musculoskeletal decline, although longitudinal studies are needed to determine whether GDF-15 contributes to the development of these changes or simply reflects the underlying biological processes.

- 3-[[4-(Benzylamino)quinazolin-2-yl] Amino] Benzenesulfonamide, a Quinazoline-Based PDE5 Inhibitor, Induces Vasorelaxation in Rat Mesenteric Arteries via Multiple Mechanisms. [Journal Article]Basic Clin Pharmacol Toxicol. 2026 Nov; 139(5).BC
- We synthesised a series of N2,N4-diaminoquinazoline derivatives, among which 3-[[4-(benzylamino)quinazolin-2-yl]amino]benzenesulfonamide (compound 5) exhibited potent phosphodiesterase type 5 (PDE5) inhibitory activity. Increasing evidence suggests that PDE5 inhibition is a promising therapeutic strategy for peripheral vascular disease. This study aimed to investigate vasorelaxant effects of 5 an…

- Pressure-Assisted Drug Delivery Using High-Pressure Balloon Platform Improves Vascular Drug Penetration and Anti-Restenotic Effects. [Journal Article]Adv Healthc Mater. 2026 Oct 24. [Online ahead of print]AH
- High-pressure drug-coated balloon (HP@DCB) angioplasty enhances vascular drug delivery by overcoming the limitations of passive diffusion-based conventional noncompliant DCB (NC@DCB) systems. We developed a dual-layer HP balloon catheter composed of an outer Nylon 12 layer and an inner Pebax 7233 layer, and evaluated its feasibility and therapeutic efficacy as a paclitaxel (PTX)-coated platform. …

- A Scalable, Antibody-Free Lipid Nanoparticle Achieves Preferential mRNA Delivery to Human HSPCs In Vivo Without Conditioning. [Journal Article]Mol Ther. 2026 Oct 23. [Online ahead of print]MT
- Systemic nucleic acid delivery to hematopoietic stem and progenitor cells (HSPCs) remains a major barrier to in vivo gene therapy due to hepatic sequestration of lipid nanoparticles (LNPs). Here, we report a scalable, ligand-free HSPC-tropic LNP enabling efficient mRNA delivery to human HSPCs in vivo without conditioning. In humanized NBSGW mice, the LNP preferentially delivered mRNA to human HSP…

- Reliable identification and early prediction of epileptic seizures play a critical role in improving patient outcomes and supporting timely therapeutic decision-making. To address the challenges of spatiotemporal feature coupling and long-range dependency modeling in multi-channel EEG signals, this paper proposes a channel-adaptive temporal modeling framework named GCNN-Informer. The framework fo…

- CONCLUSIONS: These results show that the rational redesign of the HERV-K ISD generates a potent immunogen capable of expanding human T cells and mediating mechanistically relevant anti-tumor immunity. We propose that HERV-K-ISDmut antigens represent a promising platform for cancer immunotherapy which should be explored in future clinical trials.

- Clinically adaptable size cartilage grafts generated from human embryonic stem cells enable tracheal repair in a porcine model. [Journal Article]Stem Cell Res Ther. 2026 Jul 27; 17(1).SC
- CONCLUSIONS: ESCaT demonstrates clinically relevant size and mechanical strength, indicating its potential as a graft material for tracheal reconstruction. However, immune responses in xenogeneic transplantation remain a major challenge, and the combination of decellularization and immunomodulation is critical for graft survival. Further studies are required to reduce immunogenicity and optimize tissue maturation for future clinical applications.
