- Retrograde locked nailing of pubic ramus fractures: a technical note. [Journal Article]Eur J Orthop Surg Traumatol. 2026 Jul 27; 36(1).EJ
- Percutaneous screwing of the pubic ramus presents several limitations, such as the infeasibility within a bone corridor that is too narrow or too curved, or the lack of proximal locking, which may result in the mobilization of implants. This technical note presents an original method for percutaneous fixation of pubic ramus fractures using retrograde locked nailing. The implant used is the fibula…

- Current Treatment Options and Emerging Technologies for Pelvic Bone Tumors: From Limb Salvage to Precision Oncology. [Review]Curr Treat Options Oncol. 2026 Jul 27; 27(1).CT
- In our practice, the treatment of pelvic bone tumors should begin with a multidisciplinary sarcoma-board evaluation that integrates biopsy-proven histology, high-resolution CT/MRI/PET imaging, neurovascular and visceral involvement, Enneking zone, expected survival, and patient-specific functional goals. For potentially curable primary pelvic sarcomas, we consider negative-margin resection the no…

- Multifocal skeletal tuberculosis with posterior-element spinal, sternal, and pelvic involvement presenting as a pulmonary mass: A malignancy mimic. [Case Reports]Radiol Case Rep. 2026 Oct; 21(10):4555-4559.RC
- Multifocal skeletal tuberculosis is an uncommon manifestation of osteoarticular tuberculosis characterized by noncontiguous involvement of multiple skeletal sites. When associated with a mass-like pulmonary lesion, it may closely simulate disseminated malignancy. We report a 26-year-old immunocompetent male presenting with progressive neck stiffness, fever, cough, weight loss, and dysphagia. Imag…

- Using an App based algorithm to determine axial rotation and pelvic tilt at the time of an AP radiograph: a sawbone study. [Journal Article]
- CONCLUSIONS: The algorithm used to determine axial rotation of the pelvis at the time of an AP pelvis radiograph is highly accurate. The technology can help to more accurately determine acetabular component position on standard radiographs and intraoperative C-arm images.

- Description of the Early Development of Hoplias intermedius (Günther, 1864) (Characiformes: Erythrinidae). [Journal Article]J Morphol. 2026 Jul; 287(7):e70151.JM
- In this study, we provide a detailed description of the eggs, larvae, and juveniles of Hoplias intermedius, focusing on their morphological, meristic, and morphometric characteristics. Specimens were obtained through induced spawning using the hypophysation technique. The eggs (n = 82) were large and spherical, with a yellowish yolk, transparent chorion, and a small perivitelline space. During de…

- Relapsed Retinoblastoma with Late Skeletal Metastasis in a Pediatric Patient. [Journal Article]J Nucl Med Technol. 2026 Jul 21. [Online ahead of print]JN
- Retinoblastoma is the most common pediatric intraocular malignancy and rarely presents with distant metastases. We present the case of a 6-y-old boy with unilateral retinoblastoma who developed extensive skeletal and bone marrow metastases 3.5 y after initial successful treatment. Imaging demonstrated multifocal involvement of the skull, long bones, and pelvic bones. Bone marrow biopsy confirmed …

- Operative time in acetabular fracture fixation: predictors and impact on postoperative outcomes. [Journal Article]
- CONCLUSIONS: In acetabular fracture fixation, prolonged operative time was driven primarily by case complexity particularly associated lesions, and trauma type whereas dislocation, typically addressed through a single posterior approach, was associated with shorter operations. Longer operative time did not translate into worse postoperative outcomes.

- Robotic-arm assistance in revision total hip arthroplasty improves the accuracy of acetabular component positioning: a cadaver-based study. [Journal Article]
- CONCLUSIONS: Revision RA-THA reduced error in both acetabular inclination and acetabular version, and variability in acetabular version relative to the M-THA benchmark. Although these results relate only to technical performance, accurate acetabular positioning in clinical practice is an important factor in reducing the risk of malposition-related complications in revision THA.

- Radiology malpractice claims in China: A retrospective analysis of 79 cases from 2011 to 2024. [Journal Article]J Forensic Leg Med. 2026 Jul 09; 122:103214. [Online ahead of print]JF
- CONCLUSIONS: Diagnostic errors, especially missed diagnoses of complete fractures in long limb bones, lung cancer, breast cancer, and congenital anomalies, were the leading cause of the claims. Establishing standardization of radiological procedures, enhancing quality control, cultivating good communication skills among radiologists and establishing standardized communication protocols are critical areas for reducing risk.

- Functional morphology of the iliopsoas notch: limited association with acetabular and coxal dimensions. [Journal Article]
- CONCLUSIONS: The iliopsoas notch demonstrates limited association with global acetabular and pelvic dimensions, suggesting greater influence from localized anatomical and biomechanical factors than from overall pelvic scaling. These findings have implications for understanding iliopsoas-related pathologies and optimizing acetabular component positioning in total hip arthroplasty.

- Temporary Pubectomy for Safe Expansion of the Surgical Space for Resecting Large Intrapelvic Tumors: A Report of 2 Cases. [Case Reports]JBJS Case Connect. 2026 Jul 01; 16(3).JC

- Human evolution and the obstetrical dilemma: The pelvic floor hypothesis. [Journal Article]Anat Rec (Hoboken). 2026 Jul 14. [Online ahead of print]AR
- Human childbirth is mechanically difficult because a large-headed, broad-shouldered fetus must pass through a comparatively narrow, twisted bony birth canal. Traditional explanations of this "obstetrical dilemma" emphasize the role of bipedal locomotion in inhibiting the evolution of a wider, more spacious pelvis. Yet recent evidence suggests that additional selective pressures shaped human pelvi…

- Influence of Pelvic Tilt and Bone Morphology on Extra-Articular Bony Impingement in Total Hip Arthroplasty. [Journal Article]J Orthop Res. 2026 Jul; 44(7):e70249.JO
- Extra-articular bony impingement may contribute to posture-specific groin pain after total hip arthroplasty (THA), but the relative roles of bony morphology and functional pelvic tilt remain unclear. CT reconstructions from 100 cadavers (200 hips) were used to build three-dimensional bone-on-bone collision detection models to quantify impingement-free range of motion (RoM). Femora were rotated in…

- Severe Deforming Ollier Disease with a Giant Proximal Humeral Benign Chondroid Lesion in an Adolescent Male: Case Report. [Case Reports]J Orthop Case Rep. 2026 Jul; 16(7):383-388.JO
- CONCLUSIONS: At 6 months, he reported symptomatic improvement, and at 1 year, there was no documented clinical progression. This case highlights the diagnostic complexity of severe enchondromatosis, the value of longitudinal imaging review and biopsy of suspicious lesions, and the practical role of multidisciplinary surveillance when advanced molecular testing is not feasible.
