- INSPIRE: a healthcare-specialized instructional design methodology for high-stakes e-learning in the era of artificial intelligence. [Journal Article]BMC Med Educ. 2026 Aug 18; 26(1).BM
- CONCLUSIONS: INSPIRE integrates phase-based governance, iterative production, continuous quality assurance, and human-in-the-loop AI use in one workflow built for healthcare e-learning. The contribution is conceptual; empirical validation against time-to-delivery, learner outcomes, and accreditation-quality measures is the next step. National regulators, postgraduate training boards, and CPD providers are the intended adopters.

- Augmented reality-assisted Tai Chi for adults with diabetes-associated cognitive impairment: study protocol for a randomised controlled trial. [Journal Article]BMJ Open. 2026 Sep 30; 16(9):e120433.BO
- Diabetes-associated cognitive impairment (DACI) undermines diabetes self-management and is associated with increased morbidity and mortality. Although mind-body exercise may improve cognition, its benefits are often limited by the lack of timely, precise, individualised instruction and feedback in adults with cognitive impairment. Augmented reality (AR) systems can deliver performance-adaptive, v…

- Dental Students' Perceptions of Social Media for Practical Training: A Single Institution Cross-Sectional Survey. [Journal Article]Eur J Dent Educ. 2026 Sep 19. [Online ahead of print]EJ
- CONCLUSIONS: Dental students perceive social media-particularly video-based platforms-as useful adjuncts for understanding practical procedures. However, uncertainty about reliability and ethical standards remains common. As this study relies on self-report data from a single institution, potential selection bias should be considered.

- AI-supported visual-semantic word teaching from the perspective of educational psychology: instant gains in Turkish acquisition, computational choice, and learners' psychological experience. [Journal Article]
- CONCLUSIONS: AI-driven visual-semantic word selection demonstrates preliminary promise for concrete vocabulary instruction. Nevertheless, the quasi-experimental design, confounding word sets, absence of delayed post-tests, and limited statistical power necessitate cautious interpretation. Replication with standardized word pools, delayed assessments, and objective proficiency measures is essential to establish causal efficacy and to determine whether AI-generated images offer genuine equivalence-or merely undetected non-inferiority-relative to authentic photographs. The non-significant difference between AI-generated and authentic photographs should be interpreted as the absence of evidence for a difference, not as evidence of absence of difference.

- Students' Learning Outcomes in a Virtual Microscopic Online and Face-to-Face Anatomy Course: Cross-Over Comparative Study. [Journal Article]
- CONCLUSIONS: The results of this study suggest that the microscopic anatomy learning outcomes of students under controlled short-term conditions are comparable in synchronous online and face-to-face teaching. However, it should be noted that the study was limited to 2 topics and 2 consecutive course days. Further research should address additional topics, long-term learning outcomes, and broader student populations.

- A systematic mapping study method for software architecture research with LLM-assisted quality assessment. [Journal Article]
- This article describes the protocol used to conduct a systematic mapping study (SMS) of software architecture. The presence of architectural and design instruction in primary studies cannot be determined through search and superficial review alone. A principled quality assessment must be conducted to identify studies that are both relevant and of high quality. LLM assistance offers practical mean…

- Fostering speaking gains through flipped instruction: a mixed-methods study of self-regulation, motivation, and foreign language classroom anxiety in Chinese EFL learners. [Journal Article]
- Flipped instruction has gained traction in computer-assisted language learning, but evidence of its effects on L2 speaking and the underlying affective and motivational mechanisms remains limited, especially for young adult EFL learners in East Asia.

- Hearing Aid Noise Reduction Algorithms Support Neural Speech Tracking by Enhancing Spectrotemporal Consistency of Phase-Locked Brain Responses to Acoustic Edges. [Journal Article]Trends Hear. 2026 Jan-Dec; 30:23312165261440453.TH
- Previous works that have analyzed electroencephalographic (EEG) speech envelope encoding in hearing-aid users using stimulus reconstruction (SR) approaches have shown that noise reduction (NR) algorithms can improve the neural tracking of speech in noise. Beyond enhancing speech envelope encoding, NR may also restore the perceptibility of acoustic edges that trigger auditory late responses (ALRs)…

- SlideChat is a multimodal generative artificial intelligence assistant for whole-slide computational pathology across cancer types. [Journal Article]
- Multimodal artificial intelligence, albeit showing great potential in computational pathology, remains limited to isolated patch-level interpretation and often fails to analyze gigapixel-scale whole-slide images (WSIs) essential for clinical utility. Here we present SlideChat, a multimodal generative artificial intelligence assistant for whole-slide computational pathology across cancer types. Sl…

- Enhancing Theory of Mind in Children with Autism Through Computer-Assisted Instruction and the Thought-Bubble Strategy. [Journal Article]
- Children with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) have significant deficits in communication, emotional recognition, perspective-taking, and social skills. Evidence from existing studies has shown that the social interaction skills of children with ASD are closely related to their theory of mind (ToM) abilities. While prior research has explored the effect of single intervention modes such as computer…

- Interactive visualization of enzyme kinetics: a shiny app for biomedical, pharmacology, and biochemistry education. [Journal Article]Adv Physiol Educ. 2026 Dec 01; 50(4):1110-1116.AP
- Understanding enzyme kinetics is fundamental in biomedical science, pharmacology, and biochemistry, yet students often struggle to interpret kinetic models and relate them to biological function. To support learning in this area, an interactive web-based tool, the Kinetics Analysis App, was developed using the Shiny framework in R. The application enables users to input experimental or example da…
