  • CONCLUSIONS: PFMA was reduced in adolescents with AIS compared with healthy controls. Exploratory analyses suggested negative associations between PFMA and scoliosis severity, particularly thoracic Cobb angle and ATR. These findings suggest a potential relationship between scoliosis-related spinal deformity, trunk asymmetry, and PFMA. Therefore, PFM function may be considered in the comprehensive evaluation and rehabilitation of adolescents with AIS, although confirmation in larger studies is warranted.

  • CONCLUSIONS: In this study, the levator hiatus area was influenced by the mode of the first delivery and by subsequent vaginal deliveries. Overall, the levator hiatus area increased from 21 weeks' gestation to 8 years in participants with at least one vaginal delivery and decreased in those who delivered exclusively by CS. Subsequent vaginal delivery after a first did not seem to affect the levator hiatus area measured during Valsalva maneuver. © 2026 The Author(s).   • Short-term sacral neuromodulation sustained long-term efficacy in the management of postoperative urinary retention after pelvic surgery: a case report. [Journal Article]

  • CONCLUSIONS: This case suggests that short-term sacral neuromodulation can exert rapid and long-lasting effects on bladder dysfunction secondary to pelvic nerve injury, which may help reconstruct the micturition reflex and improve bladder function. The therapeutic effect could be well maintained after stimulation discontinuation and electrode removal, and no recurrence of dysuria was noted within the six-month follow-up period. This observation provides a novel reference for the treatment strategy and duration of SNM in managing urinary retention. Nevertheless, its definitive efficacy still requires verification through more clinical cases and prolonged follow-up.

  • CONCLUSIONS: No significant correlations were found between the changes during voiding and the other tasks. Moderate to strong correlation were observed between bladder neck position at the end of voiding and the other tasks. There was no significant differences between nulliparous and parous participants. The findings suggest that the bladder neck displacement during voiding cannot be inferred from the movements during strain or pelvic floor muscle contraction. Although there is correlation between position at the end of each task, this does not reflect the dynamic change in voiding, which is likely crucial for clinical assessment and understanding of voiding dysfunction.
