- Perioperative Hospital-at-Home Program: A Scoping Review. [Review]World J Surg. 2026 Oct 10. [Online ahead of print]WJ
- CONCLUSIONS: Perioperative HaH shows promise as a rapidly evolving model of perioperative care, but the current evidence base is limited by small, largely noncomparative studies and a lack of standardized outcome measures. This is the first scoping review to systematically map perioperative-specific HaH models across pre- and postoperative phases and surgical specialties. Strengthening the quality of evidence is essential to inform policy, guide best practices, and support the safe and scalable adoption of perioperative HaH programs.

- Perioperative Management in Persons With Haemophilia on Rebalancing Therapies: A Narrative Review. [Review]Haemophilia. 2026 Oct 10. [Online ahead of print]H
- CONCLUSIONS: Limited perioperative evidence suggests that rebalancing therapies may contribute to acceptable haemostatic outcomes with reduced use of conventional haemostatic agents in selected settings. However, important clinical uncertainties remain, highlighting the need for further prospective studies.

- Negotiating Care Over Time: A Systematic Review of Alzheimer's Disease Caregiving Through a Life Course Approach. [Systematic Review]Sociol Health Illn. 2026 Nov; 48(8):e70280.SH
- The global ageing of the population has significantly increased the demand for long-term informal care, particularly in the context of Alzheimer's disease (AD). Although research on caregiver burden and coping strategies is extensive, limited attention has been paid to the temporal evolution of caregiving roles and their intersections with caregivers' life trajectories. This systematic review, co…

- Trends of Pretreatment and Analysis Methods for Carotenoids in Food. [Review]Crit Rev Anal Chem. 2026 Oct 09; :1-39. [Online ahead of print]CR
- Carotenoids are analytically challenging food constituents because their structural diversity, chemical instability, low abundance, and strong matrix dependence impose simultaneous demands on extraction selectivity, analyte preservation, chromatographic resolution, and detection sensitivity. This review critically evaluates recent advances in the pretreatment and analytical determination of carot…

- From Tradition to Bioactivity: Chemical and Biological Evaluation of a Reformulated Algerian Ancestral Soap Enriched With Lavandula dentata L. Essential Oil. [Journal Article]Chem Biodivers. 2026 Oct; 23(10):e71753.CB
- The growing demand for sustainable and bioactive personal care products has renewed interest in traditional formulations. Saboun Dzair, a traditional Algerian olive oil-based soap widely used in hammam practices, remains poorly investigated for its bioactive properties. Lavandula dentata L. essential oil (LDEO) was extracted by hydrodistillation from plants collected near Mostaganem, Algeria (yie…

- This special issue of the Journal of Psychoactive Drugs, titled "Confronting the Impacts of Systemic Racism and Structural Oppression on Overdose and Substance Use Inequities," addresses the disproportionate burden of drug overdose and substance use impacts borne by Black, Indigenous, and People of Color (BIPOC) communities. While overall overdose mortality rates have fluctuated, deep racial ineq…

- Medical errors among nurses: understanding the impact of work-family conflict and burnout. [Journal Article]Psychol Health Med. 2026 Oct 09; :1-21. [Online ahead of print]PH
- Medical errors remained a persistent challenge to patient safety and healthcare quality worldwide. This study examined the psychological predictors and underlying mechanisms associated with medical errors among nurses, focusing specifically on the effects of work-family conflict, work interference with family (WIF) and family interference with work (FIW), and the mediating role of burnout. A cros…

- The next frontier in healthcare simulation is human-AI teaming. [Letter]Adv Simul (Lond). 2026 Oct 09; 11(1).AS
- CONCLUSIONS: HAIT is an emerging clinical reality and the next frontier for healthcare simulation. We call on the simulation community to treat it as a first-order priority and to focus on developing fidelity standards for AI agents in simulation, validating human-AI teaming assessment tools, establishing ethical frameworks for AI-inclusive scenario design, investing in curriculum and faculty development, and committing to the research needed to establish whether HAIT-based simulation training translates into improved performance in AI-augmented clinical practice.

- Improved allocation strategies for red cell units of blood group O and RhD-negative revealed by current suboptimal utilization. [Journal Article]J Transl Med. 2026 Aug 04; 24(1).JT
- CONCLUSIONS: The analysis identified opportunities to improve the allocation of O RhD-negative red cell units, highlighting current inventory practices as suboptimal. The findings call for refined allocation strategies to improve the utilization of this limited resource. The implementation of real-time management approaches may balance the retention of such red cell units with the needs of patients who benefit from the use of RhD-negative blood.

- Institutional barriers and professional integration of physicians with an Arab migration background in Germany: a qualitative study. [Journal Article]Global Health. 2026 Oct 08; 22(1).GH
- CONCLUSIONS: Professional integration of Arab migrant physicians in Germany is strongly influenced by institutional structures, administrative processes and workplace conditions. While Germany offers robust structural prerequisites for medical practice, deficits in recognition procedures, onboarding, intercultural institutionalization and administrative support pose significant challenges. The findings suggest that integration should be approached as a reciprocal institutional process rather than solely as an adaptation task for migrant physicians. Structural reforms including streamlined licensure processes, structured induction programs, expanded interpreting services and systematic intercultural training are essential to support migrant physicians and strengthen the resilience and equity of the German healthcare system.

- Innovative behavior among clinical nurses: empirical level stratification and associated factors in a cross-sectional study in Zhejiang Province, China. [Journal Article]BMC Nurs. 2026 Oct 07; 25(1).BN
- CONCLUSIONS: In this sample, nurses' innovative behavior was predominantly at a relatively low level and could be empirically stratified into low, moderate, and high levels based on the joint information from three dimensions. However, comparisons with the continuous model and the four-profile solution indicate that this stratification should not be regarded as the unique or optimal discrete latent structure. Organizational justice showed the most consistent association with profile membership across both comparisons, although the estimates were based on hard class assignment and the high-innovation profile was small. Whether organizational justice can serve as a modifiable intervention target requires prospective or intervention-based evaluation. For nursing management, a fair and supportive organizational environment may warrant further evaluation as a potential management priority, while profile stratification may be useful for descriptive management and hypothesis generation.

Yet, the complexity of their interrelations remains insufficiently explored. This systematic review maps existing evidence on how different forms of housing and environment-related inequalities co-occur and, where examined, how these overlapping inequalities…
